This study explores the practice of participatory communication and creative production implemented by the Anggrek Waste Bank along the Ciliwung River as an educational strategy for flood disaster mitigation. The research aims to understand how community-based waste management initiatives can serve as platforms for environmental learning and social empowerment. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study investigates social dynamics, interaction patterns, and meanings constructed by residents through collaborative waste management and creative production activities. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that participatory communication is manifested not only in formal education, counseling, or campaigns, but also in everyday interactions, creative workshops, and collective community work. Creative products such as recycled crafts, soap made from used cooking oil, and eco enzymes function as symbolic communication media that persuasively convey ecological messages while providing tangible economic benefits. These practices foster a sense of ecological responsibility, strengthen social solidarity, and enhance community resilience to flooding. This study concludes that participatory communication integrated with creative production serves as an effective model for promoting sustainable behavior and community-based flood mitigation in urban environments.

This research explores the dual impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the academic writing experiences of English Literature students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL). AI tools like ChatGPT, Grammarly, and QuillBot are commonly used for grammar correction and sentence construction. These tools are integrated into students' writing processes, providing valuable assistance in refining their written work. However, their psychological effects, particularly in terms of emotional and ethical implications, have not been sufficiently explored in previous research. This study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach, utilizing Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), to examine the experiences of ten final-year EFL students who actively use AI tools for academic writing. Through semi-structured interviews, the research identified three major themes: reduced technical stress, heightened dependency on AI tools, and ethical concerns about authorship. The findings suggest that while AI tools act as cognitive scaffolds, aiding students by improving fluency and reducing the burden of technical writing tasks, they also introduce psychological challenges. These challenges include increased dependency on the tools and concerns about the authenticity of their work, raising questions about academic integrity and self-efficacy. This study sheds light on the complex relationship between AI as an assistive technology and its potential to cause writing anxiety and dependency. By emphasizing both the positive and negative psychological impacts of AI, the study contributes to the growing body of literature on AI in education. It calls for the development of pedagogical frameworks that balance AI literacy, emotional resilience, and ethical considerations to ensure responsible and effective use of AI in academic contexts.

The 2020–2024 period is a crucial time for the Indonesian economy, which is facing severe pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic dynamics. This study aims to analyze the development of the national economic condition over the past five years through key macroeconomic indicators, such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), forest area, industrial sector contribution, high-tech exports, domestic credit, trade in goods, and gross national income per capita (GNI per capita). The method used is descriptive quantitative based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and secondary sources from national and international institutions. The results show that despite a contraction in 2020 due to the pandemic, the recovery process has been rapid since 2021, with stable economic growth in the range of 5% until 2024. Increased GNI per capita, improved foreign investment flows, and the expansion of economic digitalization are key factors strengthening national resilience. However, challenges remain, such as a decline in the industrial sector's contribution and a reduction in forest area. These findings confirm that Indonesia's economic development is moving toward a structural transformation oriented toward sustainability, sector diversification, and social inclusiveness. Overall, the 2020–2024 period reflects a phase of recovery and restructuring of the economic foundations toward achieving the Vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045 with global competitiveness.

Fiduciary duty breaches and misappropriation are serious issues in corporate governance that can result in significant losses for companies and the state. This study aims to analyze the forms and mechanisms of legal accountability for fiduciary duty breaches and misappropriation through a comparative study of the cases of PT Asabri in Indonesia and Barclays v Singularis in the UK. The research method used is normative legal research with a conceptual, statutory, and comparative legal approach. The analysis was conducted on primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials which were then presented qualitatively in the form of exploratory and argumentative descriptive narratives. The results of the study indicate that fiduciary duty is recognized in both legal systems but with different scopes. Where the English legal system can apply this obligation to third parties such as banks through the Quincecare duty, while in Indonesia it is limited to internal parties of the company. The concept of misappropriation is not explicitly mentioned in Indonesian law but is covered in various regulations through the terms embezzlement and abuse of authority. The PT Asabri case demonstrated systematic violations by internal management, resulting in losses reaching Rp 23.7 trillion, while the Barclays v. Singularis case demonstrated the bank's negligence in preventing misuse of client funds. The implications of this research highlight the need for regulatory harmonization and strengthened oversight mechanisms to prevent similar violations in the future.

The use of plastic as planting containers remains a serious environmental issue due to its non-biodegradable nature, which can contaminate soil and water. One solution is to utilize rice straw waste as a raw material for biodegradable pots. This innovation can reduce dependence on plastic pots while providing ecological and economic benefits. Rice straw-based pots offer several advantages, including easy decomposition in soil, enhancing soil fertility, and reducing pollution caused by straw burning. This study aims to utilize rice straw waste to produce environmentally friendly biodegradable pots as an alternative to plastic containers. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), emphasizing collaboration between students and teachers through hands-on learning. The activities include socialization, practical training on making rice straw pots, participatory evaluation, and the use of the pots as planting media. The results showed that 100% of participants successfully produced high-quality rice straw pots, with positive responses reflected in high satisfaction and increased understanding of recycling concepts. The rice straw pots decompose within 2–3 months, add organic matter to the soil, and create opportunities for a circular economy. The main challenge identified is the relatively short durability of the pots, requiring innovations using natural adhesives or material combinations to enhance resilience. These findings reinforce the potential of rice straw as a solution for agricultural waste management and community empowerment toward sustainable agriculture.

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the personality, morals, and spiritual values of students. In the Islamic perspective, education is not solely focused on the mastery of knowledge but also includes the cultivation of noble character, the strengthening of faith, and the enhancement of religiosity as a form of devotion to Allah Swt. Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren), as traditional Islamic educational institutions, have a strategic role in instilling these values through religious activities, the teaching of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), and the habituation of virtuous behavior. Pesantren serve not only as centers of learning but also as institutions for character formation and spiritual development. However, the forces of globalization and modernization bring new challenges in the form of cultural, technological, and informational influences that often conflict with Islamic values. Therefore, pesantren are required to develop adaptive, innovative, and relevant educational strategies that align with contemporary needs without losing their Islamic identity. One effective approach is the implementation of Islamic counseling, a process of psychological and spiritual guidance grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Through this counseling, students are expected to strengthen their faith, enhance their religiosity, and develop moral resilience in facing the dynamics of modern life based on strong Islamic values.

Indonesia’s correctional system is designed not only as a form of punishment but also as a means of rehabilitation, enabling inmates to return to society as good, productive, and responsible citizens. Female inmates, however, have unique characteristics and needs compared to male inmates, requiring rehabilitation approaches that are more gender-sensitive and responsive to their conditions. This study analyzes the role of the Activity Guidance Unit in implementing rehabilitation programs for female inmates at the Class IIA Women’s Detention Center in Medan. Using a socio-legal research method with descriptive analysis, the research identifies the Activity Guidance Unit as playing a strategic and multifaceted role: acting as planner of activities, facilitator of skills training, psychosocial companion to address emotional and social needs, and evaluator of rehabilitation outcomes. The strategies applied combine holistic approaches with individual and group methods, including vocational training, counseling, and personality development programs. The results demonstrate that these integrated approaches not only improve the personal capacity of female inmates but also foster resilience, self-confidence, and readiness for social reintegration. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the importance of comprehensive and gender-sensitive rehabilitation programs as a vital component of Indonesia’s correctional system in fulfilling human rights and correctional objectives.

This study examines the strategic role of euphemism in Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, arguing that it was instrumental not only in managing collective grief but also in preserving the nation’s symbolic dignity. While much scholarship on the Gettysburg Address has concentrated on rhetorical artistry or historical significance (Wills, 1992; White, 2009), relatively few have analyzed it through the combined lens of sociolinguistics, specifically euphemism and face-work. Drawing on Allan and Burridge’s (2006) framework of euphemism and Goffman’s (1955) theory of face, this paper situates Lincoln’s speech within the broader sociolinguistic processes of healing, unity, and image restoration. Through a qualitative textual analysis, the study identifies three dominant euphemistic strategies: sanctification of sacrifice through sacred language, collectivization through inclusive pronouns, and redefinition of crisis as a “new birth of freedom.” These strategies operated at semantic, pragmatic, and sociopolitical levels to protect national face, transform perceptions of the Civil War, and realign public consciousness toward unity and resilience. Beyond historical interpretation, this research highlights the relevance of euphemism and face-work in contemporary political communication. Leaders in modern contextsfrom economic crises to global pandemics continue to rely on euphemistic  framing to manage uncertainty and inspire solidarity. By revisiting Lincoln’s address through this sociolinguistic perspective, the study demonstrates how language can simultaneously mitigate trauma, construct identity, and articulate a hopeful collective future.

The development of wearable technology, especially smartwatches, opens up great opportunities in preventive health monitoring, especially in rural areas such as Sembung Village, Wringinanom, Gresik, where access to health services is limited. However, this technology is still alien to the local community. Preliminary surveys show that the majority of citizens, including health cadres, have never used or even seen a smartwatch in person, and view it as a luxury and irrelevant item. In fact, the potential of smartwatches as “digital health assistants” is huge from tracking heart rate, blood oxygen levels (SpO₂), stress levels, to physical activity reminders that are essential for early detection of health disorders. This service activity aims to improve digital literacy and adoption of smartwatch technology through a participatory educational approach and direct assistance. Implementation methods include: (1) coordination with the village government and health workers, (2) Interactive socialization using local languages, (3) step-by-step practical training, (4) simulation of application in the field, and (5) pre-test and post-test evaluation of 27 participants (25 health cadres, 1 midwife, 1 nurse). The results showed significant improvements: function understanding from the original value of 1.8 increased to 4.2, consumption interest from the original value of 2.1 increased to 4.0, benefit perception from the original value of 1.9 increased to 4.3, self confidence from the original value of 1.5 increased to 3.8, and digital literacy awareness from the original value of 2.0 increased to 4.1. The hands-on approach proved effective in changing participants ' mindset from skeptical to enthusiastic, proving that the digital divide is not due to incompetence, but the lack of access to contextual education. The implication is that smartwatch has the potential to become a strategic tool for village health cadres in early detection and real-time data-based health education, provided that it is supported by sustainable mentoring.

This study thoroughly explores the role of Christian women’s fellowship as a locus of spiritual recovery for survivors of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The research was conducted through a library study of scholarly literature published in the past decade on faith-based community support, religious coping, and trauma-informed ministry. Thematic analysis indicates that women’s fellowship can provide a safe and inclusive recovery environment, facilitate faith reconstruction through positive religious coping and trauma-sensitive practices, and bridge spiritual care with professional mental health services. The novelty of this research lies in integrating recent findings from the psychology of religion with pastoral theology principles to develop a theoretical-practical framework adaptable to church contexts. The practical implications include implementing trauma-informed ministry standards, designing adaptive spiritual curricula, training facilitators, and conducting continuous evaluations. Therefore, Christian women’s fellowship has the potential to strengthen the church’s capacity as a holistic, safe, and resilient recovery community for PTSD survivors.

Women in traditional societies often face complex challenges, particularly within patriarchal social systems. In Batak Toba culture, women are frequently placed in subordinate positions and regarded merely as complements within the household. However, social realities reveal a different dynamic, where women are able to emerge as key actors in sustaining family economies while also preserving cultural identity. This study aims to examine the resilience of female ulos weavers in Siraja Hutagalung Village from a socio-theological perspective. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five main informants who work as ulos weavers, while secondary data came from literature studies related to women’s resilience issues. The analysis refers to resilience theory and gender role theory. The findings show that female ulos weavers hold a central role in family life. Their weaving is not only a cultural product but also symbolizes spiritual strength, loyalty, and independence. Thus, women’s resilience is not merely a social reality but also a tangible expression of spirituality embedded in daily life.

Sustainable tourism aims to maximize the potential of travel destinations while maintaining a careful balance between social, economic, and environmental factors, and coastal tourism such as that found at Mutun Beach in Lampung illustrates both the promise and the urgency of this approach. Coastal tourism is one of the fastest-growing segments of the global travel industry, offering visitors natural beauty, recreational activities, and cultural experiences that generate significant income for local economies. In Indonesia, beaches are major attractions that can boost regional development through job creation, small business opportunities, and improved infrastructure. Mutun Beach, a well-known coastal destination on the southern coast of Sumatra, contributes greatly to the Regional Original Income (PAD) of Lampung Province and provides livelihoods for surrounding communities. Yet despite its popularity, the area continues to face persistent problems such as weak administrative management, limited community participation, inadequate facilities, and signs of environmental degradation, all of which threaten its long-term sustainability. This service project therefore focuses on designing a comprehensive plan for sustainable tourism growth at Mutun Beach for the 2025–2030 period. A participatory strategy is employed through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving local government, tourism stakeholders, community members, academics, and potential investors to ensure inclusive decision-making. The resulting five-stage roadmap emphasizes strengthening tourism regulations, constructing eco-friendly infrastructure, empowering residents with training and entrepreneurial opportunities, creating tourism products that highlight environmental and cultural values, and adopting digital marketing to reach broader audiences. Success indicators include increased regional revenue, rising visitor numbers, higher tourist satisfaction, and measurable improvements in coastal environmental health. Implementing this roadmap is urgent because coastal tourism directly supports economic growth, provides steady employment, and safeguards natural resources, ensuring that Mutun Beach remains both competitive and environmentally resilient for generations to come.
