In an era marked by complex global threats and the intensification of visual media, contemporary security studies must expand their understanding of securitization beyond linguistic speech acts to include visual dimensions. This article examines how visual narratives shape global threat perceptions through aesthetics that operate performatively and emotionally. Using a qualitative approach and visual discourse analysis, this study demonstrates that images, symbols, and visual representations in media play a significant role in constructing issues such as terrorism, migration, pandemics, and climate crises as existential threats. Visuals not only convey information but also activate emotions such as fear, empathy, and urgency, which in turn influence security policies. However, the findings also highlight the need for caution against the manipulative potential of visuals that may reinforce stereotypes and distort reality. Therefore, this article emphasizes the importance of fostering visual literacy and adopting ethical approaches in global security communication.

This study aims to examine how the narrative of “lelaki tidak bercerita” is reproduced and internalized by young men through their personal experiences in family, friendship, and social media. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved four male students from Pendidikan Sosiologi, Universitas Negeri Jakarta as key informants. The findings show that hegemonic masculinity shapes men to suppress emotional expression from an early age, mainly through unspoken family norms and socially unsupportive relationships. While friendships and social media sometimes offer more fluid spaces, dominant narratives still restrict men’s vulnerability. Social media acts as a space for passive emotional validation, yet often reinforces old stereotypes. The impact of this construction is evident in hidden psychological burdens, emotional distraction, and indirect coping strategies. This study highlights the importance of creating inclusive and supportive social spaces where men can express emotions without stigma. By critically understanding the dynamics of hegemonic masculinity, society is encouraged to foster more empathetic and equitable social relations.

TikTok has transformed into an effective digital marketing platform, not only for introducing products but also for shaping impulsive shopping behavior. This study aims to analyze the impulsive shopping behavior of Generation Z on TikTok Shop. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, with data obtained from digital searches and observations. The findings indicate that Generation Z has a strong interest in utilizing the TikTok Shop feature within the TikTok application, making it one of their preferred alternatives for online shopping transactions. TikTok significantly influences Generation Z’s shopping behavior, as they tend to purchase products after seeing them on the platform. Businesses leverage TikTok as an efficient marketing tool, particularly through creative content, short videos, and influencer recommendations. By utilizing an algorithm that tailors content to users’ preferences, TikTok Shop creates offers that appear attractive to consumers. Generation Z is often influenced to buy items they do not actually need. Sudden purchases driven by emotions—such as low prices or limited-time offers—often lead them to overlook product quality. As a generation living in the digital era, Gen Z needs to better regulate their impulsive consumer behavior. Wisely utilizing technology and understanding the marketing strategies used by platforms like TikTok Shop can help them avoid excessive impulsive spending. By prioritizing needs over wants and carefully considering the value and benefits of a product before purchasing, Gen Z can become smarter and more responsible consumers.

JUREKSI (Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance) 2025 STIKes Ibnu Sina Ajibarang

This study aims to provide an overview of the consumption patterns of Generation Z and how they relate to inflation from an Islamic economics perspective. A library research strategy is used in this investigation. Information was gathered from a number of sources, such as books, journals, and other problem-related scientific resources. The results indicate that Gen Z's consumption habits could lead to demand-pull inflation, or an increase in inflation. Prices rise when the supply cannot keep up with the substantial increase in demand for products and services brought on by consumer behavior. When Gen Z consumes technology, fashion, entertainment, and food items all of which are frequently popular and seasonal this issue becomes more noticeable. Consumption is controlled in Islamic economics to avoid becoming wasteful (tabzir) or excessive (israf). Needs (maslahah), not only wants or carnal emotions, must be the basis for consumption. The primary remedy, according to Islamic economics, is to emphasize beneficial consumption, Islamic-based money management, and bolstering social and spiritual values in order to curb consumption and prevent detrimental effects on people or the economy.

Emotional development is a crucial aspect in shaping children's personality and social abilities. Children with emotional and behavioral disorders, known as "tunalaras" children, often struggle to express their feelings appropriately and behave according to social norms, thus requiring support from the school environment, particularly through the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers. This study aims to explore in depth how BK teachers at SKH Bina Citra Anak support the emotional development of tunalaras children. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews conducted with BK teachers as the primary informants. The findings reveal that BK teachers act as emotional companions who deal with various emotional characteristics of tunalaras children, such as impulsive, aggressive, and destructive behaviors. Teachers implement personal approaches to manage children's emotions, such as taking them to a quiet room, engaging in empathetic dialogue, and building safe relationships. Major challenges stem from the children’s social and environmental conditions, such as broken homes and external pressures. Entering the 21st century era, education is required to not only develop cognitive aspects, but also the character and life skills of students. One important ability that needs to be cultivated is empathy as the foundation of healthy and humanist social interaction. This article examines the role of dance appreciation in shaping students' empathy through a literature review approach. Dance appreciation is seen not only as an activity of observing performances, but also as a process of appreciating the meaning, culture, and emotions implied in dance movements. Through this process, learners not only train aesthetic sensitivity, but also develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity (4C) skills.
