This study aims to explain the urgency of instilling character values in education in the modern era, describe the strategies or approaches used in the educational environment, and identify challenges and solutions in their implementation. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with the research subjects consisting of teachers, students, and principals at primary and secondary education levels. The results show that the cultivation of character values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, tolerance, and cooperation is very important to form learners who not only excel in academics, but also have moral integrity and emotional maturity. Strategies used in character cultivation include integration of character values in learning, habituation of positive attitudes, teacher role models, and extracurricular activities. The main challenges in implementing character education are the negative influence of digital media, the weak role of the family, and the lack of consistency in character development. Solutions include improving educators' competence in character education, strengthening cooperation between schools and parents, and creating a school environment that supports a positive culture. Thus, character education should be an integral part of the education system, through synergistic cooperation between schools, families and communities.

The development of the increasingly advanced times brings serious challenges to the formation of the character of the younger generation, especially at the elementary school levels. The phenomenon of declining religious values, discipline, and responsibility for students is a crucial issue that needs to be addressed immediately. This study aims to analyze the collaboration model between parents and schools in supporting tahfidz programs and their contribution to the formation of religious character, discipline, and student responsibility. The research method uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by examining various relevant previous research results, as well as a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the dynamics of the collaboration. The results of the study show that strong collaboration between parents and schools in the tahfidz program has a significant impact on the formation of students' character. Effective forms of collaboration include intensive communication, active participation in the tahfidz process, and moral and material support at home. Children who receive optimal assistance from their parents tend to show stronger religious character, discipline in managing time, and a higher sense of responsibility for memorization. On the contrary, limited parental time, lack of understanding of memorization methods, and differences in commitment are the main inhibiting factors in the success of the program. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that synergy between parents and schools is the main key to the success of the tahfidz program to build a generation of character. Recommendations for schools are to strengthen the communication system with parents, provide training in memorization techniques for families, and create a conducive learning environment both at school and at home. Further research is recommended to involve field studies to get a more comprehensive picture of the implementation of this collaboration.

This research is motivated by the low attendance and involvement of church youth in spiritual activities, as well as the weak Christian character that should be the basis of their lives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the service learning approach by IAKN Tarutung students on character development and increasing participation of Naposo Bulung youth at HKBP Maranatha Ressort Cinta Damai. This research is based on the theory of service learning (Eyler & Giles, 1999), experiential learning (Kolb, 1984), and the concept of sense of belonging (Etzioni, 1991) which emphasizes the importance of emotional involvement and critical reflection in the learning and service process. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were conducted for three months. The results of the study showed that the service learning program had a significant influence in increasing the attendance of youth from an average of 14 to 25 people per week, as well as fostering positive characters such as responsibility, discipline, and social concern. Students not only act as implementers of activities, but also as spiritual mentors and spiritual friends, who form authentic and contextual relationships with teenagers. The implications of this study confirm that service learning is an effective approach in the formation of church teenagers because it combines aspects of direct service with spiritual and academic reflection. Therefore, it is recommended that this approach be integrated more systematically into the curriculum of higher theological education and used as a model of sustainable service in the church community.

This research aims to: 1) to know the condition of students in memorizing the Qur'an using translated and non translated Al-Qur'an at PPTQ Al-Asy'ariyyah Kalibeber Wonosobo; 2) to know the effectiveness of the method of memorizing translated and non translated Al-Qur'an at PPTQ Al-Asy'ariyyah Kalibeber Wonosobo; 3) to know the factors that influence the effectiveness of the method of memorizing Al-Qur'an using translated and non translated Al-Qur'an at PPTQ Al-Asy'ariyyah Kalibeber Wonosobo. This thesis uses a comparative descriptive qualitative research approach.  Where researchers understand phenomena or events through an in-depth description of the data collected in the form of words not numbers. And comparing in depth (qualitative) about a phenomenon, with the aim of identifying similarities and differences, as well as understanding the context and meaning behind it. The data collection technique uses observation, interviews, and documentation.  The data analysis techniques used in comparative descriptive qualitative analysis are data selection, data classification, data interpretation and the final step of comparison, where researchers compare the speed level of memorizing the Qur'an with the use of different Qur'ans but using the same method. The results showed that: 1) the condition of students who memorize using the translated Al-Qur'an tends to have a better understanding of the meaning of the verse, but the memorization process is slower because it takes time to understand the meaning of the verse. Students who memorize using the non-translated Al-Qur'an are faster in memorizing because they only focus on the lafadz and the rhythm of the reading. 2) the effectiveness of memorization methods using translated and non-translated Al-Qur'an at PPTQ Al-Asy'ariyyah. In terms of speed, memorizing using the non-translated Al-Qur'an is superior because students only focus on repeating the lafadz. The durability of memorization in both methods is strongly influenced by the consistency of murojaah. Understanding the meaning is better owned by students who memorize using the translated Al-Qur'an. 3) factors that influence the effectiveness of memorization, namely motivation, intelligence, psychological conditions, support from parents and ustadzah, learning environment, as well as time management and discipline are very influential on the success and effectiveness of students' memorization.

This study aims to identify and understand the root causes of low student learning outcomes in writing descriptive texts in grade IV of elementary school. Based on the results of field observations, it was found that the majority of students scored below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) in both cognitive and psychomotor aspects. In addition, student participation in learning activities is also relatively low, which is reflected in minimal interaction, lack of discipline, and lack of self-expression. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, using observations in the form of tests and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that lack of understanding of the structure and characteristics of descriptive texts, interaction in learning, challenges in using learning media, and low student motivation are dominant factors in decreasing the quality of learning outcomes. Other factors are low interest in reading and limited student vocabulary. This study recommends that learning be carried out with a more communicative, applicable, and meaningful approach according to the characteristics of students in elementary schools.

Traditional games are an integral part of children's lives, providing not only pleasure but also serving as an educational tool that supports physical development, particularly in gross motor skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the traditional Kalari game on the development of gross motor skills in early childhood. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with observation techniques through checklist instruments in 9 children aged 4-5 years at Kiddi Care Kindergarten, Gorontalo City. The results showed that most children showed good gross motor development, where 10 children had met all motor indicators, such as the ability to jump, run zigzag, and maintain balance, 6 children met some of the indicators, and 2 children still showed limitations. Activities in the Kalari game provide opportunities for children to actively move, coordinate, and work together in a team, so that they can stimulate gross motor skills in a fun way. In addition, this game also instills character values such as discipline, sportsmanship, and togetherness. Thus, the traditional Kalari game is very effective and worthy of being used as a learning medium to develop gross motor skills while strengthening children's character from an early age.

This study aims to examine the role of the traditional Ponti game in fostering values of togetherness in early childhood at PAUD Kiddi Care Gorontalo. The Ponti game is a typical Gorontalo game that contains educational values such as honesty, cooperation, discipline, sportsmanship, and tolerance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers and principals, and documentation of children's activities while playing. The results of the observations showed that children showed increased social skills, the ability to work together, and the development of positive attitudes such as honesty and sportsmanship during the game. However, several challenges were also identified, including children's limited understanding of the game's rules, fear of losing, and inadequate play facilities, which hindered the optimal implementation of activities. Interviews with teachers and principals revealed that the Ponti game plays a major role in shaping children's social character and strengthening local cultural identity. However, intensive guidance, emotional habituation, and support facilities are needed to maximize the benefits of this game. These findings suggest that the traditional Ponti game is not only an effective medium of entertainment but also a fun and contextual learning tool that can shape children's character as a whole. Discipline in education is necessary for students to understand moral and social boundaries. The practice of disciplining (corporal punishment) against students is still debatable. Some people consider it a form of violence against children that contradicts the principles of child protection in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection. A dilemma arises regarding the limits of the teacher's authority in disciplining students and whether these actions can be categorized as criminal acts or are still included in the realm of education. Article 14 of Law No. 14/2005 on Teachers and Lecturers states that teachers have the right to impose sanctions on students who violate norms, rules, and academic ethics. This research is normative research. The results of this research are: (1) The provision of corporal punishment by teachers against students who violate religious norms, norms of decency, norms of politeness, written and unwritten rules set by teachers in the learning process cannot be categorized as acts against criminal law if the corporal punishment carried out by the teacher does not exceed the limits of reasonableness or punishment that is educational in nature in accordance with the teacher's code of ethics. (2) The application of mediation as a form of protection for teachers regulated in Article 4 paragraph 2 of Permendikbud Number 10 of 2017, where mediation is a form of implementation of restorative justice values creating a space for peaceful problem solving that considers the interests of students, teachers and students. The application of mediation as a form of protection for teachers regulated in Article 4 paragraph 2 of Permendikbud Number 10 of 2017, where mediation is a form of implementation of restorative justice values creating a space for peaceful problem solving that considers the interests of students, teachers, and the school community.
