The PESIAR Program (Petakan, Sisir, Advokasi, dan Registrasi Map, Screen, Advocate, and Register) is an operational instrument of BPJS Kesehatan designed to accelerate the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by increasing National Health Insurance (JKN) membership at the local level. However, the effectiveness of this program’s implementation is strongly determined by the institutional capacity and configuration that support it. This article aims to reposition institutional determination not only as a factor influencing program effectiveness, but as a model of administrative governance in achieving UHC. The study uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were obtained through a survey of PESIAR Agents in Semarang City, while qualitative data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and interviews. The results show a strong, positive relationship between institutional determination and the effectiveness of the PESIAR Program. Qualitative findings further clarify that issues of program effectiveness largely originate from institutional capacity, the quality of cross-sector coordination, and the role of PESIAR Agents as field implementers. This study concludes that institutional determination deserves to be positioned as an administrative governance model for the PESIAR Program in promoting the achievement of UHC at the local level.

Family health is a fundamental component of public health development, as the family represents the smallest social unit shaping individual health behaviors. This study aimed to analyze the family health conditions of the community in Pulau Jambu Village, Kampar District, based on demographic, behavioral, socioeconomic, and environmental factors. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with a total sample of 153 respondents selected using random sampling, ensuring equal probability for each population member to be included. The results indicated that most respondents were in the productive age group of 19–60 years (68.8%), with farming as the dominant occupation (47.1%). The majority relied on borehole wells as their water source (61.4%); however, 47.1% had septic tank distances ≤10 meters, posing potential risks of water contamination. Regular physical activity was reported by 60.8% of respondents, yet the prevalence of smoking was very high (78.4%). Most respondents had a junior high school education (45.1%), influencing health literacy levels, although 58.2% demonstrated good knowledge of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS). Health service utilization was relatively high (86.3%), though some residents still practiced traditional treatment. In conclusion, family health conditions are influenced by a combination of behavioral, environmental sanitation, and socioeconomic factors. Strengthening family-based health interventions through PHBS education, smoking control, and environmental sanitation improvement is essential to enhance sustainable community health status.

The increasing use of facial cosmetics among adolescents and young adults is not always accompanied by adequate cosmetic literacy, potentially leading to skin health problems. Many consumers choose products based on trends without understanding their skin type, ingredients, and safety aspects, which can lead to skin barrier damage, irritation, and long-term dermatological disorders. This study aims to analyze the influence of cosmetic choices on facial skin health through a literature review. The method used was a qualitative literature study with a purposive sampling technique of scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025 that were relevant to the behavior of adolescents and young adults and the impact of cosmetic ingredients on the skin. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and cosmetic choices. The results show that cosmetic knowledge tends to be high, but is not always followed by appropriate selection behavior, with varying correlation strengths. These findings confirm that cosmetic literacy contributes to the tendency to choose more appropriate products, but is not the sole determining factor. Therefore, education is needed that emphasizes cognitive aspects while fostering critical attitudes in choosing cosmetics safely and responsibly.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is an important element in creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment. PT. X as a logistics and port operations company has potential occupational hazards originating from physical, chemical, and biological factors that need to be managed optimally. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of OHS at PT. X based on the results of measurements of physical, chemical, and biological factors of the work environment and their compliance with the provisions of the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 5 of 2018. This study uses a descriptive method with an evaluative approach to work environment monitoring data in 2025 in the generator and office areas. The parameters analyzed include noise, lighting, hot work climate (ISBB), inhalable and respirable dust exposure, and microbiological air quality in the form of total bacteria and fungi. The results show that most parameters meet the specified standards, with the exception of the generator area which exceeds the noise limit and the hot work climate which exceeds the Action Level (AL). The implementation of OHS at PT. X has been running quite well, indicated by most of the work environment parameters that meet the standards. However, strengthening risk controls, particularly regarding noise and hot working conditions in operational areas, is still necessary. This evaluation is expected to serve as a basis for continuous improvement in the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to protect workers from potential occupational hazards and support the productivity and sustainability of company operations.

Social media has become integral to the daily lives of Generation Z (Gen Z) in Indonesia, with intensive daily usage contributing to significant mental health concerns. This narrative review synthesizes evidence from the literature published between 2021 and 2026 to examine the primary mechanisms social comparison and fear of missing out (FOMO) underlying the negative effects of social media on mental health, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sleep disturbances, and social isolation. Drawing from 15 key open-access articles (including 7 Indonesia-specific studies and 8 global comparisons), social comparison through curated content on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook was consistently associated with diminished self-satisfaction and heightened dissatisfaction. FOMO, particularly amplified by fast-scrolling algorithms on TikTok, promoted compulsive behaviors such as doomscrolling and exacerbated emotional distress. Digital wellness strategies, including digital detox, mindful usage, and media literacy, showed promising potential for mitigation, although long-term effectiveness remains limited in the Indonesian context. Notable research gaps include the scarcity of longitudinal studies, culturally tailored interventions, and data from rural or non-urban populations. This review recommends integrating digital literacy education into school curricula and developing community-based mental health programs to address risks in the 2025–2026 digital era. The findings offer insights for prevention and intervention strategies targeting Gen Z mental health in Indonesia.

Teenage pregnancy remains a reproductive health issue in Indonesia, including in Batam City. According to data from the Batam City Health Office in 2024, there were 18 cases of teenage pregnancy (0.06%) with the Lubuk Baja Health Center being one of the highest areas. Pregnant teenagers are at high risk of complications such as anemia, malnutrition, and low birth weight (LBW), which contribute to high rates of maternal and infant morbidity. This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach on Ny. S, an 18-year-old teenager with a pregnancy in the Lubuk Baja Health Center area of Batam City in 2025. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and SOAP documentation following the 7-step Varney obstetric management. The findings revealed that Ny. S experienced mild complaints such as nausea, reduced appetite, and anxiety about her pregnancy. After three visits, the mother's complaints decreased, appetite improved, anxiety decreased, and nutritional status was within normal limits. Comprehensive midwifery care with a biopsychosocial approach was proven effective in improving both the physical and mental health of pregnant teenagers and preventing pregnancy complications.

Lifestyle changes, such as smoking habits, low physical activity, and suboptimal sleep patterns, have the potential to affect various health indicators. However, empirical evidence showing a direct link between lifestyle factors and objective health indicators still shows varying results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between lifestyle factors and health indicators in adult respondents, in an effort to provide an empirical picture of behavioral factors related to health conditions. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional observational analytic design. Data were obtained from 94 respondents who had complete lifestyle data and health examination results. Lifestyle factors analyzed included smoking habits, exercise frequency, and sleep duration, while health indicators included body mass index (BMI), systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, uric acid, and pulse rate. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Spearman correlation test according to the characteristics of the data distribution. The results showed that smoking habits were significantly associated with diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), exercise frequency was significantly associated with BMI and systolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), and sleep duration was significantly associated with uric acid levels (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the relationship between lifestyle factors and other health indicators did not show statistical significance. These findings indicate that the influence of lifestyle on health is specific to certain indicators and is not evenly distributed across all health parameters. This study concludes that identifying lifestyle factors relevant to certain health indicators is important as a basis for formulating more targeted health promotion strategies.

This study is motivated by the increasing complexity of financing coordination between the National Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) and supplementary health insurance providers under the Coordination of Benefits (KAPJ) scheme, which creates potential claim disputes and administrative risks for hospitals. Although Minister of Health Decree No. HK.01.07/MENKES/1117/2025 regulates payment allocation and membership verification mechanisms, it does not explicitly recognize pre-admission confirmation as a preventive legal protection instrument. This research aims to analyze the normative position of pre-admission confirmation within the KAPJ framework, conceptualize it as a preventive legal protection mechanism, and formulate a proportional implementation model. The study employs a normative juridical method using statutory and conceptual approaches through literature review of relevant regulations and scholarly works. The findings indicate that pre-admission confirmation possesses implicit normative legitimacy through membership verification obligations and system integration requirements, and functions as a risk allocation mechanism that clarifies payment responsibilities prior to service delivery. Its implementation enhances legal certainty, reduces fraud potential, and minimizes claim disputes, provided that access to emergency medical services remains guaranteed.

Exercise is a planned physical activity that not only contributes to physical fitness but also plays a significant role in maintaining and improving mental health. This study aims to explore the relationship between physical exercise and mental well-being among adolescents and university students with diverse backgrounds of physical activity. The research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with five informants, consisting of university students who engage in recreational exercise, recreational runners, middle- and long-distance runners, and a sprinter. Data collection was conducted in several public sports spaces in the city of Bandung, focusing on participants’ subjective experiences related to their psychological conditions before and after engaging in exercise. The findings indicate that all participants perceive exercise as an effective means of emotional regulation. Physical activity is consistently associated with improved mood, reduced stress, enhanced sleep quality, stable energy levels, and increased academic concentration and focus. In addition, exercise contributes to the development of self-confidence, self-efficacy, and self-control through structured routines. The social aspects of exercise, such as support from peers, communities, and coaches, were shown to strengthen the sustainability of physical activity while also providing essential emotional support for mental health. However, among competitive athletes, performance-related pressure was identified as a factor that may negatively affect psychological well-being, although this effect can be moderated by adequate social support. Overall, the findings of this study emphasize that exercise functions as an adaptive coping mechanism operating through biological, psychological, and social pathways, and highlight the importance of consistency and balance in physical activity to achieve optimal mental health benefits.
