Objective – In the digital transformation era, the integrity of personal data has become essential for maintaining trust and ensuring the sustainability of digital services. This paper aims to systematically review how data privacy violations affect public trust and progress toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 9 (infrastructure and innovation) and SDG 16 (strong institutions and justice). Methodology—This study adopts the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on Kitchenham’s framework. Relevant articles from 2021–2025 were retrieved from Scopus, IEEE, Springer, and ScienceDirect using a predefined search string aligned with PICOC. A total of 19,504 records were screened, and 36 high-quality studies were selected after applying inclusion/exclusion criteria and quality assessment tools (e.g., CASP, AMSTAR). Findings—The review reveals that sectors such as education, healthcare, and smart cities are increasingly adopting data protection technologies, including encryption, federated learning, differential privacy, and blockchain. However, many still face regulatory, infrastructural, and human literacy gaps. Breaches in personal data significantly reduce public trust, impair the exercise of digital rights, and pose ethical and operational risks for achieving SDGs. Limitations – The study is limited by the timeframe (2021–2025) and focuses primarily on peer-reviewed literature. Practical insights from developing countries may be underrepresented due to database indexing limitations. Contribution – This review contributes a cross-sectoral synthesis of technological and regulatory practices for data protection, identifies key challenges, and outlines a strategic roadmap for policymakers and technologists to integrate ethical data governance for sustainable digital futures.

The rapid growth of open-source software (OSS) in machine learning (ML) has intensified the need for reliable, automated methods to assess project quality, particularly as OSS increasingly underpins critical applications in science, industry, and public infrastructure. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a diverse set of machine learning and deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms for classifying GitHub OSS ML projects as engineered or non-engineered using a SMOTE-enhanced and explainable modeling pipeline. The dataset used in this research includes both numerical and categorical attributes representing documentation, testing, architecture, community engagement, popularity, and repository activity. After handling missing values, standardizing numerical features, encoding categorical variables, and addressing the inherent class imbalance using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE), seven different classifiers—K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), XGBoost (XGB), Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and a Deep Neural Network (DNN)—were trained and evaluated. Results show that LR (84%) and DNN (85%) outperform all other models, indicating that both linear and moderately deep non-linear architectures can effectively capture key quality indicators in OSS ML projects. Additional explainability analysis using SHAP reveals consistent feature importance across models, with documentation quality, unit testing practices, architectural clarity, and repository dynamics emerging as the strongest predictors. These findings demonstrate that automated, explainable ML/DL-based quality assessment is both feasible and effective, offering a practical pathway for improving OSS sustainability, guiding contributor decisions, and enhancing trust in ML-based systems that depend on open-source components.

This community service aims to implement recycling activities for children as an educational strategy to foster environmental awareness from an early age. In the context of increasing environmental challenges, environmental education is an urgent need to shape a caring and responsible character for environmental sustainability. The method used is participatory learning with direct practice of recycling waste that actively involves children, accompanied by education on waste management, sorting, and the reuse of used materials into useful products. This approach uses observation, and documentation as data collection techniques to evaluate children's understanding and behavior. The results of the community service show a significant increase in children's awareness and concrete actions in protecting the environment after participating in the recycling activity. Children not only understand the concept of environmental conservation theoretically, but also practice it in their daily lives, such as sorting waste and reducing plastic waste. This community service's contribution to the development of science in the field of education lies in the successful implementation of an experiential learning model that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects in instilling environmental values. This educational model enriches an effective and contextual approach to environmental education, while also providing a strategic alternative for fostering environmental awareness among the younger generation. The use of technological resources, especially the internet, has a very important role in supporting the effectiveness of the implementation of the flipped classroom model. Through internet access, students can prepare before face-to-face learning by watching learning videos, reading materials, or doing exercises independently. This allows the classroom teaching and learning process to be more interactive, where face-to-face time can be focused on discussion, problem-solving, and application of concepts. Based on survey data collected from students of SMK Dewata Bali Denpasar, it is known that optimal use of the internet helps increase students' understanding and interest in learning science subjects. However, as time went by, it was found that some of the material was still difficult for students to understand and remember. Therefore, educators need to choose the learning platform that is most effective in supporting the implementation of this model. Using the ELECTRE (Elimination and Choice Expressing Reality) method, this study assessed various platforms such as features, price, ease of use, and user survey results. The results show that Google Classroom is the most suitable and efficient platform to support reverse learning because of its ability to integrate various learning media, ease of access, and support for interaction between teachers and students.
