The patent dispute between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is one of the largest Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) conflicts in the modern technology industry. This case began in 2007, when Apple launched the first-generation iPhone, revolutionizing the smartphone market with its minimalist design, full-touch screen, and intuitive interface. The success of the iPhone opened new markets and positioned Apple as an innovation leader. Samsung, as the largest electronics manufacturer in Asia, then produced the Android-based Samsung Galaxy smartphone, which quickly became the iPhone's main competitor. This business competition then turned into a legal dispute when Apple considered Samsung's products too similar to its products. This case involves claims of infringement of design patents and utility patents filed in various jurisdictions such as the United States, South Korea, Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This article uses a normative juridical method with a statutory and case approach. The analysis shows that the patent dispute between Apple and Samsung cannot be resolved through a single international forum due to the territorial nature of the patent system. Therefore, litigation takes place in several countries and results in varying decisions.

This study aims to examine the application of mocaf flour as a partial or complete substitute for wheat flour in the preparation of dadar gulung, a traditional Indonesian delicacy. The research is grounded in the potential of mocaf, which is gluten-free, rich in dietary fiber, and supports efforts to diversify food sources based on local commodities. A quantitative experimental method was employed with three flour formulations 50% wheat : 50% mocaf, 25% wheat : 75% mocaf, and 100% mocaf evaluated through organoleptic testing by 25 panelists with varying levels of experience. The assessment parameters included color, aroma, taste, texture, and overall perception. The findings indicate that the formulation containing 100% achieved the highest overall score, followed by the 75% mocaf and 25% wheat blend, while the 50% mocaf and 50% wheat formulation ranked lowest. These results suggest that a dominant proportion of mocaf can maintain the sensory quality of the product, although full substitution requires further optimization to enhance consumer acceptance. This research contributes to the development of healthier innovations in traditional foods, offers a gluten-free alternative for individuals with dietary restrictions, and promotes the sustainable utilization of local resources.

This study examines the bioethical and Sharia dilemmas arising from the production of slaughter-free meat through animal cell culture as a modern food innovation. Concerns regarding the halal status of the cell source, the use of culture media such as Foetal Bovine Serum, and ethical issues related to animal welfare necessitate an in-depth analysis of the halal status and moral implications of this technology. The research method employs a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, reviewing journals, books, and contemporary fatwas related to cultured meat, bioethics, and Islamic law. The results indicate that the Sharia aspect heavily depends on the cell source, the medium used, and the culture process, while the bioethical perspective highlights animal welfare, scientific transparency, and the moral responsibility of researchers. Furthermore, the acceptance among Muslim communities is significantly influenced by trust in halal certification bodies and the availability of transparent information. This study affirms the need for biotechnology-based halal standardization and the development of fully halal media and supporting materials to ensure the widespread acceptance of cultured meat in the future.

This study aims to analyze the potential and business development strategies of Warung Misop Kampung Yani Mbotz in Tanjung Morawa District as a representative of traditional culinary MSMEs. The main problems identified are limited capital, simple business management, and the lack of digital promotion. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, using direct observation, interviews with the business owner, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) framework to identify internal and external factors, and the Business Model Canvas (BMC) to formulate development strategies. The results reveal that the main strengths of the business lie in authentic taste, affordable prices, and customer loyalty. Weaknesses include limited menu innovation, underutilized digital promotion, and the absence of systematic financial recording. Opportunities arise from the growing public interest in traditional culinary products and government support for MSMEs, while threats come from competition with modern food outlets, fast-food chains, and rising raw material prices. The strategies formulated through the BMC framework include product innovation, service diversification, the optimization of social media marketing, and the strengthening of business networks. The study concludes that applying BMC-based strategies can enhance the competitiveness of Warung Misop Kampung Yani Mbotz while preserving traditional culinary heritage. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for other culinary MSMEs in developing their businesses sustainably.

Abstract: The rapid diffusion of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has intensified public debate regarding its benefits, risks, and societal implications. This study investigates public sentiment and thematic structures surrounding Generative AI by analyzing Twitter discourse as a representation of large-scale, real-time public perception. The research addresses two main problems: how public sentiment toward Generative AI is distributed and what dominant themes shape this perception. Accordingly, the objective is to map both emotional polarity and thematic narratives embedded in social media conversations. A computational mixed-methods approach was employed using a dataset of 12,470 tweets collected on 17 December 2024. Sentiment classification was conducted using a transformer-based DistilBERT model, while semantic representations were generated with Sentence-BERT. Topic modeling was performed using BERTopic, integrating HDBSCAN clustering and class-based TF-IDF to extract coherent and interpretable topics. Human-in-the-loop validation supported the interpretive robustness of topic labeling. The findings reveal that public sentiment toward Generative AI is predominantly positive (41.8%), particularly in relation to productivity enhancement, education, and creative applications. Neutral sentiment (31.4%) reflects informational discourse, while negative sentiment (26.8%) centers on ethical concerns, privacy risks, misinformation, and AI hallucinations. Seven dominant topics were identified, with clear topic–sentiment alignment showing optimism in utility-driven themes and skepticism in ethics- and risk-related discussions. In conclusion, public perception of Generative AI is dualistic—characterized by strong enthusiasm alongside persistent caution. These results provide empirical insights for AI governance, responsible innovation, and future research on socio-technical impacts of Generative AI. *

Global economic developments show the acceleration of the adoption of circular business models, where resource efficiency and waste reduction are the main focuses to answer sustainability demands and SDGs targets. Although this trend is strengthening globally, MSMEs, especially those based on family businesses, are still lagging behind in their implementation, even though digitalization is increasingly opening up opportunities for operational optimization and innovation. The urgency of this research arises from the need to understand how the digital mindset and transformation of family business management can accelerate the readiness of MSMEs in implementing circular business practices. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of the three strategic concepts into a single analytical framework through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), a perspective that has rarely been combined in previous studies. With the SLR method based on the PRISMA protocol, this study shows that MSMEs already have a strong foundation in the digital mindset, including technology readiness, innovation orientation, and adaptation of digital business models. Family business values have also been proven to support business continuity through knowledge transfer and long-term investment. However, the implementation of circular business practices is still weak, especially in resource cycle management, sustainable product design, and environmental impact measurement. The implication is that the synergy of digital mindset and family business governance can strengthen the transition of MSMEs to a circular economy that directly supports the achievement of the SDGs, especially in the areas of sustainable consumption-production and industrial innovation.

This study aims to analyze the role of business strategies in increasing revenue by taking a case study of the Dimsum Mentai MSME in Medan City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results show that the business strategies implemented by the Dimsum Mentai MSME include product innovation through a combination of traditional and modern flavors, the implementation of value-added packages to reach consumers with diverse purchasing power, the selection of a strategic business location near student activity centers, and the use of social media as a digital promotional tool. These strategies have been proven to increase consumer appeal, expand market reach, and positively contribute to increasing business revenue. Thus, it can be concluded that business strategy plays a crucial role in maintaining competitiveness and increasing revenue for MSMEs in the culinary sector.
