This research aims to develop a pop-up book-based learning media to introduce local wisdom of Indonesian culture to the younger generation. Local wisdom, as an inheritance of knowledge and values from our ancestors, is a national identity that is increasingly poorly understood by the current generation. Therefore, an interesting, creative, and interactive learning media innovation is needed. Pop-up books were chosen because of their ability to present material visually, lively, and allow students to interact directly with the learning content. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The process starts from needs analysis, book design development, prototyping, to trials for grade XI students of SMK. The research instruments included validation questionnaires from material experts, media experts, teacher and student responses, and material comprehension tests. The validation results showed scores of 82.8% (material experts), 78.3% (media experts), and 75.5% (potential user responses), which overall fell into the very feasible category. The findings of the study show that pop-up book media is effective in increasing students' understanding of local wisdom in the context of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. In addition, this research contributes to the preservation of local culture through educational media innovation. This pop-up book media is expected to be an interesting, interactive, and relevant learning solution for students in understanding the diversity of Indonesian culture.

This research analyzes the aesthetic values and symbolic meanings of The Siborang Struggle Monument in Padang Sidempuan City. It aims to raise awareness among people who pass by the monument about the importance of remembering the services of heroes who fought tirelessly to defend Indonesia’s independence. The purpose of this research is to describe the aesthetic values based on Monroe Beardsley’s aesthetic theory and to uncover the symbolic meanings according to Langer’s symbol theory, as represented in The Siborang Struggle Monument. The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach, using data collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results show that The Siborang Struggle Monument holds significant aesthetic value through its unique local architectural form and conveys a strong symbolic meaning as a representation of bravery and sacrifice. This is reflected in the statue’s facial expression, which depicts a passionate fighting spirit while carrying war tools such as a sharpened bamboo spear with a flag, Molotov cocktails, and firearms, along with elegant color choices that carry implicit meanings. The study concludes that the monument not only serves as a commemorative structure but also stands as a symbol of national identity and pride. This research is expected to foster a spirit of patriotism and resilience in the younger generation and can serve as a reference for future studies on related topics.

This study examines how colonial power is articulated through the form, spatial layout, and symbolism of Bogor Palace, and how post-independence transformations in function and discourse shape its new identity. As a colonial architectural legacy, Bogor Palace holds historical significance and reflects power dynamics, cultural representation, and spatial acculturation in both colonial and postcolonial contexts. The research highlights the importance of reassessing colonial architecture as a medium for representing power and ideology, especially in buildings that remain national symbols. Using a qualitative approach with literature review and visual analysis, the study applies Michel Foucault’s theory of power and discourse to reveal embedded power structures, and Erwin Panofsky’s iconography and iconology to decode visual symbols and meanings. Findings show that the neoclassical European style of the palace reflects colonial dominance, yet its adaptation through local materials, construction techniques, and climate-responsive elements indicates a complex process of acculturation. Initially marginal, local culture becomes integrated into the building’s design. After independence, the palace was resemanticized from a colonial icon to a national emblem, illustrating a shift in identity and power narratives. Today, restoration efforts not only preserve its historical value but also reaffirm role as a dynamic cultural space shaping Indonesia’s collective memory.

The National Strategic Projects (PSN) launched by the Indonesian government aim to accelerate development and drive national economic growth. However, in practice, many of these projects overlap with customary territories that lack formal legal certainty. This legal uncertainty gives rise to various problems, such as agrarian conflicts, criminalization of indigenous peoples, and the loss of living space and cultural identity of local communities. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal uncertainty experienced by indigenous peoples in the implementation of PSN and its impact on the protection of their collective rights. Additionally, this study explores the relevance of the principle of legal pluralism as a normative foundation for reforming national development policies to be more inclusive and ensure legal certainty for indigenous peoples. The approach used is normative qualitative with a literature study of regulations, court decisions, and reports from civil society organizations. The results of the analysis show that the legal imbalance between state law and customary law is the root cause of the marginalization of indigenous peoples in large-scale national development projects. The principle of legal pluralism, which recognizes the existence of customary law as a legitimate legal system, can be an alternative approach in formulating future development policies. The application of legal pluralism enables the state to build a development model based on social justice, participation, and respect for legal and cultural diversity. Thus, policy reform based on legal pluralism is an urgent necessity in addressing the challenges of structural justice for indigenous communities amid the tide of national development.

This research explores the influential role of Islamic preaching, known as dakwah, in nurturing and reinforcing nationalistic values among young Muslims. It emphasizes the significance of integrating religious teachings with messages of patriotism to shape the mindset and attitudes of the youth towards their nation. Rather than viewing dakwah solely as a tool for religious propagation, this study positions it as a strategic and educational instrument that can instill a deep sense of national identity, unity, and active participation in national development.Employing a qualitative research methodology with a descriptive approach, this study analyzes various contemporary forms of dakwah, including religious lectures, Islamic study circles, digital platforms such as social media, and involvement in Islamic youth organizations. These channels are assessed for their effectiveness in conveying messages that resonate with the daily lives and societal roles of Muslim youth. The findings indicate that when Islamic values are harmoniously combined with national ideals, dakwah becomes a powerful vehicle for character building. The growing influence of transnational Islamic movements on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Indonesia has emerged as a new challenge for local religious organizations such as Muhammadiyah. This study aims to explore how Muhammadiyah, as a modernist Islamic movement, responds to transnational religious ideologies within the educational domain. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review, this research analyzes scholarly articles, major books, and official Muhammadiyah documents. The findings indicate that Muhammadiyah actively defends its progressive Islamic ideology through strategies such as strengthening higher education, internationalizing institutions, and revitalizing cadre development. Muhammadiyah’s ideological stance, rooted in wasathiyah (moderation) and inclusivity, is pivotal in countering the infiltration of transnational ideologies, which tend to be radical and intolerant. This study underscores the importance of reinforcing PAI curricula based on moderate Islamic values as a strategic step in preserving national Islamic identity.

This study explores how Generation Z maintains the use of the Indonesian language amid the challenges of globalization. In a modern era heavily influenced by foreign cultures and rapid digital development, a shift in language usage patterns among youth is becoming increasingly apparent. Foreign languages, particularly English, are frequently adopted in daily communication, which may threaten the role of the Indonesian language as a marker of national identity. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence Generation Z’s language attitudes and practices, and to examine how they perceive Indonesian as part of their identity. Using a qualitative approach through interviews and observations, the findings reveal that although there is a tendency toward mixed language usage, there remains a level of awareness among Generation Z about the importance of preserving the Indonesian language. However, globalization and the dominance of foreign media content are significant influences shaping their linguistic habits. Therefore, strategic and youth-oriented efforts are needed to ensure that the Indonesian language remains relevant and valued in the future.

This study examines how the power of a slogan and visual elements are able to form a strong brand image and is inherent in the memory of consumers, focusing on the study of the Indomie brand. Through the approach of literature review, this study synthesizes various research results and previous reference sources to explore the role of the slogan “Indomie Seleraku” in creating collective memory in the community. Qualitative descriptive approach was used to examine secondary data derived from interview documentation and analysis of Indomie advertising content from various time periods. From the results of the literature review, it can be concluded that the strength of the Indomie brand does not only come from the quality of its products, but also from a consistent marketing communication strategy that is able to generate emotional resonance among consumers. Indomie effectively combines elements of local culture, attractive visual displays, and slogans that are easy to recognize and remember. This combination plays a role in creating an emotional connection between the brand and its consumers, while strengthening public perception of Indomie as part of the daily consumption culture. In addition, thematic advertisements launched at special moments such as the month of Ramadan, as well as the launch of certain regional flavors, also strengthen Indomie's position as a brand that is relevant to local values and national identity. This study confirms that the success of a marketing communication strategy depends not only on the message conveyed, but also on the way it is presented visually and verbally that is able to build emotional experiences and deep meaning for consumers.

Manco, a traditional snack from Madiun, holds significant potential to grow and gain recognition beyond its region of origin. Its unique taste, texture, and embedded cultural and historical values serve as key assets in an increasingly competitive market. However, the main challenges faced by manco entrepreneurs are building a strong brand identity and conveying the product’s uniqueness through engaging storytelling. Effective branding through distinctive logos, packaging, and memorable taglines can enhance the product’s appeal and perceived value among consumers. Furthermore, compelling storytelling, such as narratives about traditional production processes, the struggles of business owners, and the use of natural ingredients, can foster emotional connections and consumer loyalty. Nevertheless, challenges remain, such as inconsistent brand identity usage and limited digital promotion. Therefore, branding and storytelling training are essential for manco entrepreneurs to maximize their product’s potential, expand their market, and establish manco as a culinary icon representing Madiun both nationally and internationally.

Indonesia is a unitary state comprised of thousands of islands and vast seas. Land is a vital asset for both the people and the state; therefore, its control, use, and preservation must be regulated fairly to prevent misuse, particularly by foreign parties. This study focuses on the extent to which the limitations on land ownership by foreign nationals (FNs), as established by national law, can be effectively applied in cases occurring beyond Indonesia's jurisdiction. The aim of this research is to examine how the principle of lex rei sitae, the doctrine of cross-border inheritance law, and the concept of ordre public in Indonesian law interact with one another in order to formulate legal policies that uphold agrarian justice and national sovereignty, while also adapting to global changes. The findings of this study reveal that the principles of lex rei sitae and ordre public serve not merely as grounds for legal rejection, but as fundamental pillars in shaping land ownership policies for foreign nationals based on fairness, proportionality, and sustainability. By implementing a legal system that is firm, consistent, yet flexible, Indonesia is able to safeguard its national sovereignty while also fostering international trust as a rule-of-law state capable of facing global challenges without losing its national identity.

The establishment of Indonesia's new capital city (IKN) in East Kalimantan is a major achievement in the nation's strategic plan. This enormous project poses significant legal issues concerning the constitutional land rights of Indigenous peoples who have been in the region for millennia. This study seeks to analyze the recognition and probable jeopardization of Indigenous communities' constitutional rights within the legal framework of the IKN project. The study employs a normative legal framework and examines regulations, including Law No. 3 of 2022 concerning the Capital City and pertinent Constitutional Court rulings on Indigenous rights, highlighting a disparity between formal legal acknowledgment and actual enforcement. Preliminary findings suggest minimal Indigenous involvement in planning and decision-making processes, coupled with escalating dangers of land confiscation. The study advocates for enhanced constitutional protections and the realization of land rights as a means of restorative justice and acknowledgment of Indigenous identity within the framework of national development.

The #KaburAjaDulu phenomenon that emerged in early 2025 became a digital expression of Generation Z Indonesia towards various social, economic and political unrest in the country. This hashtag not only reflects the desire to migrate, but also symbolizes criticism of the national situation that is considered not to provide hope and space to develop for young people. This research uses a qualitative approach with the descriptive analysis, and utilizes constructivism theory in international relations and social identity theory to understand the dynamics of Generation Z's increasingly transnational identity. Through social media and diaspora support, Gen Z forms a global community that reinforces a collective narrative of seeking a future beyond national borders. Their identities are no longer confined to conventional nationalism, but are continuously negotiated through cross-border interactions and diasporic experiences. This research concludes that #KaburAjaDulu is not just a temporary trend, but a reflection of the transformation of youth identity in the era of globalization and digitalization. The findings highlight the importance of policies that are more inclusive and responsive to the needs of the younger generation so that they not only become global actors, but also still feel a sense of belonging and want to build the homeland.
