In the 21st century, the increasingly complex phenomenon of global migration has become a major challenge for humanity, as migration issues are often linked to conflict, poverty, social injustice, and climate change. In this context, the encyclical Sollicitudo Rei Socialis written by Pope John Paul II provides a relevant framework for understanding and responding to the migration crisis. This document emphasizes that in order to build a more just and humane society, human dignity, social justice, and global solidarity are essential. The purpose of this study is to instill the extent to which the principles contained in Sollicitudo Rei Socialis can serve as a basis for developing comprehensive solutions to the migration problem. This study will find the difficulties and opportunities in applying these principles in migration policies by investigating the literature and analyzing cases. This study is expected to help develop more humane and sustainable migration policies. In addition, this study is expected to inspire the wider community to participate in solidarity efforts towards migrants.

Reconstructionism is a school of educational philosophy that aims to reshape society through radical educational reform. Rooted in a critique of progressivism, it emerged as a response to social and economic stagnation and the desire to make education an agent of social change. Its leading figures, such as George Counts and Harold Rugg, inspired by the thought of John Dewey and Theodore Brameld, advocate for an education that is able to deal with global challenges, including moral, social and environmental issues. Reconstructionism argues that education is not only responsible for shaping individuals, but also plays a role in building a just and equal society. The principles of this school emphasize the important role of education in dealing with the global crisis, as well as the need for a relevant curriculum to foster students' character and morals. This school places teachers as agents of change who play an important role in guiding students to face the challenges of the times, as well as designing a curriculum that prioritizes social interests. Thus, reconstructionism emphasizes the importance of education in saving civilization through the formation of character, morality, and a new, more humanist culture.

The modern world of work often prioritizes productivity and ignores the human dimension of workers. This article examines the concept of human dignity in the world of work based on Pope John Paul II's encyclical Laborem Exercens. The encyclical asserts that work is not merely a means to fulfill economic needs, but also an expression of human dignity and participation in the work of creation. Work has a subjective value that transcends material value, so human beings should always be the center of attention in work activities. In addition, Laborem Exercens highlights the importance of justice in employment relations, respect for workers' rights, solidarity and balance between material and spiritual aspects. This article aims to explore the application of these principles in today's world of work in order to create a more humane, just and sustainable work environment. By basing on the values contained in the encyclical Laborem Exercens, the world of work can become a means of building an inclusive and dignified community, where human well-being takes precedence over mere economic efficiency. This analysis is relevant as a reflection for modern society in realizing a world of work that respects the dignity of every individual.

This study analyzes the impact of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 2 Year 2022 on Job Creation, particularly in the plantation sector, on the rights of Masyarakat Hukum Adat (MHA). The initial purpose of this Perppu was to increase investment through simplification of regulations and acceleration of licensing, but the formulation of existing norms and regulations can threaten the existence of MHA. This research is a normative research and uses a legislative approach by analyzing primary and secondary legal materials, and using John Rawls' Theory of Justice and Mochtar Kusumaatmadja's Theory of Development Law. The results show that there are significant changes in the application of Perppu No. 2 Year 2022 on Job Creation compared to Law No. 34 Year 2014 on Plantations, including changes in land area limitations, elimination of environmental permits, and elimination of criminal sanctions related to permits and the environment. The implications of the implementation of this Perppu are that it exacerbates the marginalization of Indigenous Peoples, ignores customary rights, and causes overlapping land tenure, as well as ecosystem and environmental damage. This research suggests several strategic steps: accelerating the inventory of customary land and the granting of customary rights certificates, requiring MHA to be involved in every stage of decision-making through FPIC mechanisms, and passing a special law for MHA. Investment policies should also focus on sustainable development with stricter environmental standards than at present.

This article discusses Human Rights (HAM) as a Foundation for Peace according to Pacem in Terris, an encyclical made by Pope John XXIII. This encyclical emphasizes that real peace can only be achieved through respect for human dignity and rights, which is the main basis for building a just social order. This study applies qualitative methods with a descriptive-analytical approach to investigate the concepts of human rights and peace in both global and local contexts, especially in Indonesia. The main source of this research is the text Pacem in Terris, which is analyzed to understand the relationship between human rights and peace, as well as its relevance in facing modern challenges such as social injustice and conflict. In addition, this study also involves interviews with religious figures, human rights activists and academics to deepen understanding of the implementation of Pacem in Terris principles in diverse societies. The findings of this research confirm that respect for human rights, as described in Pacem in Terris, plays a crucial role in realizing sustainable peace. This article also offers suggestions to the government, Church and society to be more proactive in prioritizing human rights as a foundation for peace, both at the domestic and global levels.

This article examines the importance of creating an inclusive workplace for persons with disabilities from the perspective of the encyclical Laborem Exercens, which emphasizes the value and dignity of human beings in the context of work. Pope John Paul II asserts that work is a fundamental right of every individual, including persons with disabilities, enabling them to fully participate in society and develop their potential through employment. The aim of this article is to explore how the principles of Laborem Exercens can be implemented to create a fair, flexible, and accommodating workplace for persons with disabilities. The methodology employed in this article involves a literature review of the texts of Laborem Exercens and various sources related to inclusive policies, physical adjustments, and the use of assistive technologies in the workplace. This article also highlights the importance of collaboration among governments, companies, and communities as a key factor in establishing productive and empowering workplaces for persons with disabilities. Providing accessible facilities, flexible policies, and awareness training for managers and colleagues are proposed as concrete steps to realize an inclusive workplace. Achieving an inclusive work environment requires a collective commitment to respecting the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities, which, in turn, will improve their quality of life and contribute to the overall welfare of society. Implementing the values outlined in Laborem Exercens represents a significant step toward a more just, equitable, and inclusive working world.

Human being having a conscience and freedom to determine what is good and performing actions according to God's will. In today's era, phenomena show that human being sometimes ignores the Divine law and do not listen to their conscience. These acts of infidelity  drive a human being to fall into sin and live contradict according to God's will. However, God through the Holy Church always gives the human being the opportunity to revert to God. The Church provides the special opportunity to repent, explicitly through the Sacrament of Reconciliation . It was emphasized by St. John XXIII in the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere. The method used is a literature study, especially studying the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere. The results of the study show that the spirit of repentance as proclaimed in the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere says that only through repentance the Christians will nurture in the perfection of life. The repentance according to St. John XXIII is a repentance of the body and soul. The conclusion of this study confirms that inner repentance is a repentance carried out by Christians through a good confession of sins and taking part in the Eucharistic sacrifice and receiving holy communion. Inner repentance is realized in everyday life through daily actions called external repentance. By doing external and internal repentance, the Christians will obtain true happiness and salvation from God.

This study investigates the impact of Canva, a digital literacy tool, on enhancing student engagement and academic performance through the lens of Self-Determination Theory by Johnmarshall Reeve (2012). Using qualitative methods, data were collected from student responses via questionnaires. The findings reveal that Canva positively influences the four dimensions of engagement: behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and agentic. Behavioral engagement is supported through its intuitive tools that promote focus and persistence. Emotional engagement is enhanced by evoking positive emotions and reducing stress. Cognitive engagement is fostered by encouraging critical thinking and creativity, while agentic engagement empowers students to take ownership of their learning processes. Despite challenges such as limited free features, students effectively utilized Canva’s resources to overcome these barriers. The study concludes that Canva offers a transformative approach to education, promoting 21st-century skills and bridging traditional learning with digital literacy. Future improvements could expand free templates, collaborative features, and educational resources, further amplifying its benefits in academic settings.

In practice, the Cooperative Education Unit (SPK) does not provide the same space for every Indonesian citizen to get a quality education. SPK has becomea practice of educational capitalism that further widens the gap between one person and another  and  eliminates  the  principle  of  justice  where everyone has the right to equal opportunities for education. The  method  used  in  this  study  is  normative  legal  research that uses three approaches, namely the legislative approach, the case approach, andthe conceptual approach. With the analysis using the perspective of critical law and the theory of  Justice  John  Rawls.  The  result  of  this  study  is  a  policy recommendation  so  that  the  Cooperative  Education  Unit (SPK) school policy as a product of government policy in the education area contained in Permendikbud No. 31 of 2024 should be reviewed, corrected and returned to be a policy in accordance with national education goals. This article examines pastoral counseling strategies for congregants whose Christian faith is weakened by sustained exposure to secular digital content. The problem is not framed as a deterministic claim that digital media directly destroys faith, but as a practical-theological concern: algorithmic personalization, secular moral imaginaries, online doubt communities, entertainment habits, and fragmented attention can reshape belief, practice, belonging, and trust in church authority. The study aims to construct a counseling model that is theologically responsible, psychologically informed, and pastorally usable in local churches. Using a conceptual qualitative design, the article synthesizes literature from digital religion studies, mediatization theory, adolescent and emerging-adult religiosity, media psychology, religious coping, and spiritually integrated counseling. The analysis identifies three main findings. First, faith degradation should be diagnosed as a layered process involving cognitive doubt, affective dryness, moral dissonance, ritual discontinuity, and communal displacement. Second, pastoral counseling must move beyond prohibition toward discerning digital habits, rebuilding spiritual attention, and restoring relational trust. Third, an integrated strategy is proposed: assessment of digital-spiritual formation, narrative and theological reconstruction, communal re-embedding, and digital rule-of-life practices. The article concludes that pastoral counseling in the digital age should function as a ministry of interpretive accompaniment rather than merely corrective instruction.

Education aims to help students become more independent and critical in the process of discovering their own identity. Participatory education is a relevant approach that allows students to actively participate in the thinking process. The philosophy of educational progressivism pioneered by John Dewey reflects much of this approach. According to progressivism, education should be student-centered by emphasizing hands-on experience to teach and build critical thinking skills. Relevant works on progressivism and Dewey's concept of education are investigated in this qualitative research. The results show that the idea of progressivism is strongly related to Indonesia's national education goal, which is to create innovative, independent, and flexible students. A student-centered curriculum and a supportive education system are needed to implement this theory.

This writing is motivated by the phenomenon of love that is not owned by Christians, so that there is a tendency of materialism among Christians that affects the way of thinking and behavior, this is because Christians are not able to carry out religious values perfectly. The emergence of cases of persecution, and discrimination against others shows that there is still a lack of love between people, especially Christians. Therefore, this study aims to apply theological studies on the concept of love for others in the Gospel of 1 John 4: 7-8 and its relevance for Christians, by providing forgiveness to others. By using a qualitative approach method to analyze, study and deepen it so that the right steps are obtained in practicing love for others in everyday life. The results of this study show that, (1) Jesus showed love regardless of ethnic or social differences, (2) Love is selfless, unselfish and most importantly unconditional, meaning total love. Thus, love is shown not only in words, but every real action as shown by Jesus to the Samaritan woman in John 4:7-8.

This study examines the theological significance of miracles in the Gospel of John within the framework of New Testament studies and their function as signs that lead people to knowledge of and faith in Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God. Within a Christological framework, in the Gospel of John, miracles are presented selectively as theological signs designed to foster and affirm faith in Jesus Christ as the Messiah and the Son of God. This research adopts a qualitative methodology, utilizing a literature review and theological analysis of the miracle narratives in the Gospel of John. The analysis is conducted with particular attention to the Gospel's narrative structure and its declared purpose (John 20:30–31). The study's results demonstrate that the Gospel of John selectively presents certain miracles as signs imbued with deep theological meaning. These miracles not only manifest divine power but also disclose Jesus's identity and guide readers toward faith. The miracles in the Gospel of John should not be interpreted solely as supernatural events, but as instruments of divine revelation designed to cultivate and form faith. Faith constitutes the primary response to these signs, directing readers to confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through faith in Him, eternal life is obtained.

The attitude of Christians to live righteously and live holy is very necessary amidst the lives of people who live evil and unclean lives. Roman Emperors and their followers in ancient times rejected John's prophecies written in the Book of Revelation, so they continued to carry out evil and dirty deeds. Likewise, some members of the Christian congregation in Asia Minor were unwilling to endure suffering because of it offended Jesus Christ through their sinful actions. Christians were constantly intimidated into denying Jesus, so that some did not faithfully follow Jesus to the point of death. The aim of this research is to encourage readers and listeners of the essence of the Book of Revelation not to do evil and unclean things in their lives. The research methodology used is qualitative research with a literature research approach. The result obtained is that if Christian educators become more loyal in teaching Christians (Christian students) in educational institutions, then Christian students will increasingly free themselves from the evil and uncleanness they once practiced. Conclusion: Christians (Christian students) must be taught continuously through the word of God to experience repentance, live righteously, live holy, and not to deny Jesus Christ in their lives.

When Jesus appeared to the disciples, he said: "Peace be with you; he breathed on them and said: Receive the Holy Spirit", John 20:21-22. Shortly after that Jesus ascended into heaven. The disciples prayed for ten days in Jerusalem and the Holy Spirit came down as promised by Jesus, (Acts 1:8). In addition, no one else, be it prophets, apostles, church fathers or pastors may breathe and tell people to receive the Holy Spirit. This study aims to find the views and attitudes of Christianity in ordaining ministry or worship. In this study, the method used is qualitative descriptive with an approach to an understanding and comprehension of the importance of receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit so as not to be extreme in the completion of ministry or worship. The Holy Spirit anoints someone so that the person experiences a change in life to become spiritually qualified and has the divine ability to carry out ministry according to his calling, with abilities that exceed human strength.

Effective leadership is crucial in every organization, including within the context of the Catholic Church. This study aims to analyze the character of Catholic leadership within the framework of John C. Maxwell's 5 Levels of Leadership Theory. The approach used in this research is descriptive-analytical, which seeks to explain how Maxwell's five levels of leadership Position, Permission, Production, People Development, and Pinnacle can be adapted to Catholic leadership. The study finds that each level of leadership has strong relevance in shaping better Catholic leadership character, with a focus on values such as service, integrity, and community development of faith. The implementation of this theory enables an increase in effectiveness in leading both the congregation and Catholic institutions as a whole.

The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of liberating truth based on the Gospel of John 8:31-32. In addition, this study can also provide good basic knowledge about the meaning of liberating truth that can only be obtained through faith in Jesus and its reflection for today's believers, especially so that they can know how to interpret and respond to the liberating truth. The research method in this writing is a qualitative method with an exegetical approach. In this study, the meaning of liberating truth based on the Gospel of John will be explored theologically and then confronted with the reality of understanding today's believers in how they respond to that freedom. From the results of the exegetical study of John 8:31-32, the Truth is God Himself, who is incarnated into the life experienced by humans. In addition, God also acts as a giver of truth that will free His oppressed people. Freedom means liberation from slavery, entering a new life in joy and satisfaction that was previously impossible. Through faith in Christ, believers experience a meaningful life that is freed from the darkness and prison of sin.  This means that faith in Christ not only saves from the penalty of sin, but also gives freedom to live in the will of God and glorify Him. The meaning of the liberating truth referred to in the Gospel of John is the truth that gives spiritual freedom, namely freeing humans from the power of the devil, from darkness, spiritual death and from the prison of sin. This truth is concerned with human salvation, the truth that comes through the Lord Jesus Christ.
