This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the formation of students' character in the era of globalization which is full of value challenges due to technological developments and information flows. Globalization has had a significant impact on the morality of the younger generation, so that religious-based character education is becoming increasingly important. Using a qualitative research method based on literature studies, data were collected from various relevant scientific literature sources and analyzed thematically. The results of the study indicate that PAI plays a central role in instilling students' faith, morality, and social values through value-based learning, habituation of worship, and teacher role models. However, globalization is a contextual factor that can weaken or strengthen this influence depending on the implementation strategy. These findings strengthen Lickona's character education theory and Bandura's social learning theory, and show the importance of an adaptive and contextual approach in teaching PAI. The implications of this study are the need to develop a more innovative, integrative, and collaborative PAI curriculum and learning strategy between schools, families, and communities so that religious values remain firmly embedded in students amidst the challenges of globalization.

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing the RADEC model in the context of elementary school learning and its impact on the development of students' critical thinking skills. The RADEC approach emphasizes active student involvement through five main stages: reading to build initial understanding, answering questions to test reasoning power, discussing to broaden perspectives, re-explaining concepts to deepen understanding, and creating products or solutions as a concrete manifestation of the critical thinking process. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design and involved fifth grade students in a public elementary school. The instruments used were critical thinking tests and student activity observation sheets. The results showed that the implementation of the RADEC model significantly increased students' critical thinking skill scores compared to conventional learning models. In addition, students showed higher enthusiasm and learning independence during the learning process. These findings indicate that the RADEC model is not only able to build a stronger understanding of concepts but also encourages students to actively analyze, evaluate, and create ideas. Therefore, the RADEC model is recommended as an effective alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of learning and critical thinking skills of students at the elementary school level.

The expository learning strategy in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) remains relevant as a classical Islamic scholarly heritage but requires creative transformation to address digital-age challenges. This article examines the implementation of expository strategies through literature study, analyzing philosophical foundations, effectiveness, contemporary challenges, and innovation models. The research reveals that expository strategies are effective for normative PAI materials but face complex challenges including shifting cognitive patterns of digital natives, decentralization of knowledge authority, and technological disparities. Various innovative models (interactive, contextual, multimedia, reflective) offer solutions by integrating traditional expository strengths with modern approaches. The study concludes that successful implementation requires paradigmatic reconstruction through "pedagogical ijtihad" balancing Islamic scholarly authenticity with 21st-century learning needs. PAI teachers must master three core competencies: depth of religious knowledge, pedagogical sophistication, and technological literacy.
