This article discusses the role of reason, spirit and passion in human life according to Islamic teachings, and how these three elements interact with each other to achieve a balanced life. The purpose of this research is to understand how Islam teaches the management of reason, spirit and passion as fundamental elements in human life, so that true happiness in this world and the hereafter can be achieved. The method used in this research is literature review and text analysis of the main sources of Islam, such as the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as the opinions of relevant scholars and experts. The results of this study show that Islam emphasizes the importance of maintaining harmony between reason, spirit, and lust through worship, introspection, and self-control. The intellect functions as a tool for wise thinking and decision-making, helping humans understand religious teachings and controlling passions. The spirit as the spiritual essence connects humans with God, providing the impetus to do good and achieve spiritual happiness. Meanwhile, lust, which includes worldly urges, must be controlled so as not to lead humans to pleasures that violate sharia. The study concludes that the balance between these three elements leads to a meaningful life that is in line with the purpose of creation as servants of Allah.

In the history of life, humans are creatures who always want to achieve something they want and when humans have it they feel it is happiness. Happiness is the main focus point of God creating humans but true happiness is focused on God's Love. God created humans to enjoy the love of God, that is true happiness, but as time goes by, after humans fall into sin, humans begin to drift away from true happiness and even live their lives in a hedonistic way. In this research the author used a descriptive research method of literature study by taking data from books and journals related to the discussion. So the author concludes that human happiness can only be received from God because it is eternal happiness.

Knowledge plays a central role in Islamic teachings, both as a means to achieve worldly success and salvation in the afterlife. This study aims to examine the virtue of knowledge as the key to worldly and afterlife success based on the perspective of the Qur'an and hadith. The method used is a literature review with a thematic interpretation approach and hadith analysis to examine the verses of the Qur'an and hadiths related to knowledge. The results of the study show that the Qur'an and hadith firmly place knowledge in a very high position, with knowledge being the main factor that elevates human status, both in the world and in the afterlife. In Surah Al-Mujadilah verse 11, Allah SWT states that He will elevate the status of those who have knowledge, while the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW emphasize that knowledge is the path to heaven and good deeds whose rewards continue to flow. Knowledge not only leads to worldly achievements such as social, economic, and technological progress, but also becomes the main foundation for carrying out worship properly and obtaining happiness in the afterlife.

Self-confidence is an important element in achieving success and happiness, and has a significant positive relationship with motivation to learn. However, many individuals face challenges in building their self-confidence due to social pressure and negative experiences. In this context, this study explores sources of motivation from a Quranic perspective, specifically through Surah At-Thaha verses 25-28, which describe Prophet Moses' plea to Allah for peace and ease in facing life's challenges. Tafsir Al-Misbah by Quraish Shihab provides the insight that self-confidence should be built on faith in Allah and recognition of one's potential. This study also highlights the importance of social support, appreciation, and a supportive environment in building self-confidence. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, the results show that self-confidence can be strengthened through spiritual connection, internal reinforcement, and recognition of personal weaknesses, which ultimately encourages individuals to express themselves and reach their full potential. This research is expected to inspire readers to apply Quranic values in their daily lives, in order to increase self-confidence and freedom of expression.

One of the literary works "Dodolitdodolitdodolitbret" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma is a story about spirituality, which is told in an ironic way and balances the real and the sign. As a spiritual story experienced by a character named Guru Kiplik. He was very sure that "right prayer is the secret of happiness" But everything changed when he met the nine sons of the island-children. Teacher Kiplik always doesn't accept that their morals are not right, but they can walk on water. The background of this research is the depth of analysis of the intrinsic elements of short stories. Part of the background to the research provided is based on the need for in-depth analysis of the intrinsic elements in the short story so that researchers understand the moral message and social criticism conveyed by the author. The problem in this research is how the intrinsic elements, namely theme, character, plot, setting, point of view, language style and message, work together to produce the meaning of the story. This research uses a structural approach with qualitative descriptive methods. The data used is secondary data obtained through reading and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using the relevant theories. The research results show that this short story has a main theme regarding true belief and opposing principles in carrying out prayer. Kiplik's teaching figures as well as the island's inhabitants reflect the difference between formality and spiritual sincerity. The forward plot, reflective setting, omniscient point of view, and symbolic language style support the delivery of the moral message that sincerity is more important than technical mores. This research recommends further exploration of Seno Gumira Ajidarma's works in the context of social criticism and spirituality, and the use of these short stories as teaching material for understanding humanist values in literature.

Happiness is one of the natural attitudes of humans when getting a lot of pleasure from Allah SWT, such as health and sustenance. However, not many of humans are correct in responding to these blessings, pleasures that are not properly addressed are termed istidraj. Istidraj is a punishment given by Allah SWT to the perpetrators of immorality in the form of worldly pleasures that seem beautiful but cause negligence in the real world. Therefore, it is necessary to be aware of istidraj as a sign of caution in order to avoid immoral acts. The phenomenon  of istidraj in this study explores the concept of this in the Qur'an through the perspective of two mufasirs, namely al-Imam al-Qurtubi and Wahbah al-Zuhaily in answering 2 focuses, namely: 1. How to interpret istidraj in the Qur'an according to al-Imam al-Qurtubi and Wahbah al-Zuhaily 2. What are the similarities and differences between al-Imam al-Qurtubi and Wahbah al-Zuhaily regarding istidraj. To understand the concept of the istidraj phenomenon, this study applies a qualitative method of literature study with a comparative study approach. In this approach, the researcher compares the interpretation of al-Imam al-Qurtubi through the tafsir "Al-Jami' li al-Ahkam al-Qur'an" with the interpretation of Wahbah al-Zuhaily through the tafsir "Al-Tafsir al-Munir". The researcher examined the interpretation data from the two mufasirs related to the concept of istidraj. A comparative approach is used to gain a deeper understanding and see the differences and similarities in the views of the two towards istidraj. As for the results of this research, al-Qurtubi sees istidraj as a gradual punishment process for those who deny the verses of Allah SWT. Wahbah al-Zuhaily sees it as a gift of favor or success. Both mufasirs agree that istidraj involves giving pleasure as a test of Allah. The difference in interpretation lies in the context of the object  of istidraj. al-Zuhaily emphasizes his interpretation on the test of a servant, while al-Qurtubi emphasizes the interpretation of istidraj on slow withdrawal as punishment.
