This qualitative research delves into the psychological demarcations within Amitav Ghosh’s “The Shadow Lines” by an intensive study of the characters’ intricate relationships with each other, creating a sense of internationalism. Set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent’s partition, the novel explores the artificial divisions of caste, nation, and identity, and their profound impacts on human relationships. This study examines both primary and secondary sources to dissect the intricate relationships among the characters, highlighting the devastating effects of psychological borders compared to physical ones. While geographical demarcations physically separate people, the psychological borders ingrained in individuals’ minds create deeper, more enduring divisions. This research underscores how these mental boundaries perpetuate alienation, contrasting with the moments of collective unity despite physical separations. Through a meticulous analysis of character dynamics, the paper argues that psychological borders are more harmful, influencing emotions and identities on a fundamental level. The study offers significant insights into the themes of identity, trauma, and demarcation in literature, contributing to a deeper understanding of how mental and social divisions shape human interactions and societal structures.

Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) has become a significant psychosocial and spiritual concern among congregants whose daily rhythms are shaped by social media visibility, comparison, and constant connectivity. This article examines FoMO as an object of pastoral counseling, not merely as excessive screen use but as a relational and affective pattern in which digital platforms intensify unmet needs for belonging, identity, autonomy, and meaningful participation. The study aims to construct a pastoral counseling approach for congregants who experience anxiety, compulsive checking, social comparison, diminished self-worth, and spiritual distraction because of social media. Methodologically, the article uses a constructive-integrative literature review, synthesizing peer-reviewed research on FoMO, problematic social media use, social comparison, self-determination theory, and spiritually integrated counseling alongside major works in pastoral care and practical theology. The synthesis indicates that FoMO is best understood as a need-frustration cycle that is amplified by passive browsing, online comparison, and algorithmic immediacy. Pastoral counseling can respond constructively through careful assessment, theological reframing of identity and belonging, digital habit formation, communal practices, and referral pathways when psychological risk is present. The article concludes that pastoral counseling is uniquely positioned to transform FoMO from anxious digital vigilance into discernment, embodied community, and spiritually grounded digital wisdom.

Innovation in fish processing, such as Roullade Fish, offers an effective way to increase consumption. Roullade is a dish made by rolling or wrapping minced meat with a filling. Roullade Fish utilizes patin fish due to its thick flesh, minimal bones, and rich nutritional content, including essential amino acids and omega-3 fatty acids. The addition of tempe gembus enhances the texture and nutritional value of the roullade by providing fiber and glutamic acid. Tempe gembus also imparts a distinctive umami flavor. To enrich the nutrition and appearance, the roullade is coated with a pure of daun semanggi, adding natural aroma and color. This combination is expected to yield a high-quality product with a taste preferred by consumers. This study aims to determine the characteristics of making a roulade using striped catfish, tempe gembus, and layered clover leaves in terms of organoleptic properties, nutritional content, and panelist preference. The research method used is experimental, as it aims to identify the effects of using striped catfish, tempe gembus, and clover leaves on the influenced variables.Based on the research results on the preparation of Roullade with patin fish, tempe gembus, and daun semanggi layer, the formulation with 70% patin fish, 30% tempe gembus, and 10% daun semanggi achieved the highest scores in color, shape, texture, aroma, and taste. Its nutritional content includes 16.86% protein, 5.10% fat, 38.90% carbohydrates, 3.60% fiber, and 30.60% water. The paradoxical phenomenon of domestic violence (KDRT) within the ideal construct of Islamic marriage, supported by the prevalence of violence against women in Indonesia, forms the empirical basis of this research. Fikih mubadalah, as an interpretative framework that emphasizes the principle of reciprocity in understanding religious texts, and the Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes (UU TPKS), as a juridical instrument providing comprehensive protection for victims of sexual violence, constitute the central conceptual elements of this study. This research focuses on the analysis of the implementation of UU TPKS and the fikih mubadalah paradigm within the pedagogical context of the Islamic Marriage Jurisprudence subject in the eleventh grade of Social Sciences at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Banjarmasin. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with students and educators, and documentary analysis of learning artifacts. The research findings indicate that the integration of the fikih mubadalah concept and the substance of UU TPKS in the learning process significantly enhances students' understanding of the essence of egalitarian marital relations and the urgency of legal protection against gender-based violence. Students are able to identify manifestations of gender inequality in marriage case studies and internalize the importance of equality and legal protection guarantees. Nevertheless, heterogeneity in the level of understanding is still identified in a small portion of the sample population. The conclusion of this research is that the internalization of fikih mubadalah and UU TPKS within the Islamic Marriage Jurisprudence curriculum effectively stimulates students' critical awareness of the importance of just marital relations and the imperative of preventing acts of violence. The application of a contextual and participatory pedagogical approach proves to be positively correlated with an increase in students' understanding. This research recommends the adoption of a similar integrative approach in the religious education curriculum as a strategic effort to shape a young generation that possesses legal awareness, a fair gender perspective, and the capacity to build harmonious and violence-free family institutions.
