Divorce is the legal and religious termination of a husband-wife relationship. This severance of the relationship can have psychological consequences, making children more susceptible to depression. These psychological impacts include deep sadness, resulting in depression, feelings of loss, shame, anger, disappointment, denial, self-acceptance, and feelings of blame toward the parents. These psychological impacts are naturally the result of the support, emotional support, and presence of the parents before, during, and after the divorce. This study employed a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, conducted through semi-structured interviews. The aim is to raise awareness among readers that divorce not only impacts the husband and wife but also the psychological impact on children, which is often considered unimportant. However, the mental health of children after divorce is a crucial issue that requires attention. This is where the role of parents is crucial in shaping their character and psychological development. This study concludes that children who are victims of divorce tend to seek out activities outside the home, as the integrity of their home is no longer there. Children experience sadness and loss most acutely. Furthermore, children are more wary of future relationships due to a loss of trust in the meaning of romantic relationships. Low self-acceptance also makes it difficult for children to control their emotions.

Listening skills are fundamental in English language learning because they are the main gateway to language proficiency. However, students often face obstacles such as differences in accents, the speed of native speakers, and limited vocabulary. This study aims to describe the use of the Spotify application as a learning medium to improve students' listening skills. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were third-semester students of the English Education Study Program at UIN Sumatera Utara (UINSU) in class TBI 2. Data were collected through questionnaires covering content usage patterns, duration, and application feature utilization. The results showed that: Students actively use Spotify (music and podcasts) as a source of authentic language input independently. Using Spotify has a positive impact on vocabulary comprehension, pronunciation, intonation, and conversation comprehension skills. The playback speed feature helps students control the audio speed according to their ability level, making the learning process more flexible and personalized. Consistent listening duration (15–30 minutes) is effective in supporting the development of listening skills without causing cognitive fatigue.

This study examines the short story "Click that Kills" by Taufiqurohman to reveal the position of humans in the increasingly dominating digital algorithm environment. Using a descriptive qualitative approach that focuses on structural analysis and literary psychology based on Freud's psychoanalytic theory, this study thoroughly analyzes the intrinsic elements as well as the inner conflicts of the characters. The findings of this study show that the AIDA system poses a profound existential crisis, where individual freedom is threatened due to systemic information manipulation. The characters of Dito and Genta experience a serious conflict between id, ego, and superego when dealing with the figure of "Shadow User" who is a real symbol of the shift in human dignity through raw data. In terms of structure, the storyline conveys a deep social critique of the loss of human self-control in cyberspace. This research shows that this short story is a premonious criticism of the importance of maintaining the essence of humanity in the midst of the prevalence of mechanical algorithms. The phenomenon emphasizes that digital technology can potentially alienate the moral consciousness of individuals in modern society.

Hypertension is one of the most common non-communicable diseases in Indonesia. Hypertensive patients must have high self-efficacy to comply with antihypertensive medication so that blood pressure can be controlled and complications prevented. Therefore, intervention is needed to improve therapy compliance. One intervention that can be given is the provision of pill cards. This study was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-intervention post-intervention control group design. Sampling was conducted using non-probability purposive sampling from July to September 2025. A total of 106 respondents were divided into two groups, with 53 respondents in the control group and 53 respondents in the intervention group. The control group was only given the MMAS-8 questionnaire, while the intervention group was given pill cards and the MMAS-8 questionnaire. In the intervention group, prior to intervention, 25 patients (47.2%) had low compliance, 21 patients (39.6%) had moderate compliance, and 7 patients (13.2%) had high compliance. After the intervention, there was a significant increase, with 21 patients (39.6%) showing high compliance, 26 patients (49.1%) showing moderate compliance, and 6 patients (11.3%) showing low compliance. Providing pill cards to outpatients with hypertension can improve patient medication adherence. The popularity of the boys love (BL) genre, a key representation of the LGBTQ community, raises concerns about its potential negative impact on social pathology related to LGBTQ behaviors among fans. Despite the stigma labeling BL enthusiasts as exhibiting deviant sexual behavior (homosexuality), early observations and field findings show that most fans are heterosexual and do not exhibit such behavior. Instead, their engagement represents a cumulative effort to support LGBTQ representation. This research uses a qualitative case study approach, conducted on social media X over four months. Key findings suggest that the primary curative efforts by fans to address the social pathology of LGBTQ are self-control and the establishment of self-boundaries. Self-control is demonstrated through cognitive and decision-making control, while self-boundaries are seen in fans' understanding that fictional content should not be translated into heteronormative reality. Strengthening self-control and self-boundaries lays the foundation for further curative actions, preventing fans from becoming fully integrated into the LGBTQ community.

This quasi-experimental study examines the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted learning in enhancing critical thinking skills among undergraduate history students. The study involved 60 students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received AI-supported instruction integrating adaptive learning modules, scaffolded source-analysis prompts, and guided argumentative discussions facilitated by conversational AI tools, while the control group followed conventional lecture-based instruction. Data were collected using a validated critical thinking test, classroom observation protocols, and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired and independent sample t-tests, while qualitative data were examined through Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis model. Results indicate statistically significant improvements in critical thinking scores in the experimental group compared to the control group. Thematic findings reveal enhanced sourcing, contextualization, corroboration, and evidence-based argumentation skills. However, minor risks of over-reliance on AI highlight the need for instructional scaffolding and ethical guidance. The findings suggest that AI can function as a cognitive scaffold that strengthens historical thinking and metacognitive awareness when implemented within a structured pedagogical framework.

Smoking behavior among adolescents is a serious and growing public health problem. Data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) shows that 7.4% of adolescents aged 10–18 years smoke. This literature review aims to determine the determinants of smoking behavior among adolescents based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) theory, with a focus on components such as perceived vulnerability, perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, cues to action, and self-efficacy. Using a literature review approach, this study identified and analyzed several academic references such as journals, books, encyclopedias, and others that discuss topics related to the determinants that influence smoking behavior among adolescents based on the Health Belief Model (HBM). The analysis conducted indicates that there is a relationship between perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, perceived self-efficacy, cues to action, and smoking behavior among adolescents. The conclusion of this study shows that in 9 studies that applied the Health Belief Model (HBM) theory in examining smoking behavior in adolescents, all major components of HBM were proven to have a significant relationship with this behavior. This study provides an important theoretical basis for the development of effective and sustainable health promotion programs in controlling smoking behavior among adolescents.

Background: Sleep disorders in adolescents are a significant health problem, with a global prevalence reaching 57.8% and particularly high rates in several cities in Indonesia. Poor sleep quality negatively impacts physical health, such as the risk of cardiovascular disease and anemia, as well as mental and cognitive health. Sleep behavior is influenced by a dynamic interaction between personal and environmental factors, as explained in Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). Research Objective: To identify the determinants of sleep deprivation in adolescents, specifically individual and environmental factors, based on a Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) perspective through a literature review from 2019 to 2025. Method: This study utilized a literature review. To obtain research data, the authors searched for scientific articles through Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases, then analyzed 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria, published between 2020 and 2025. Results: Factors significantly associated with adolescent sleep quality were identified, with individual factors being the most dominant determinant (found in 7 studies), including academic stress and smartphone addiction. Furthermore, a positive association was found with environmental factors (found in 4 studies), such as bright lighting, noise, and uncomfortable room temperature. Conclusion: Within the framework of Social Cognitive Theory, adolescent sleep quality is the result of a reciprocal interaction between personal factors (perceived stress and self-control over gadgets), the physical environment, and sleep behavior. Individual factors such as stress and nighttime gadget use reduce self-efficacy for regular sleep, which is exacerbated by an unfavorable environment.

The development of social media as part of digital technology has significantly transformed patterns of social interaction among adolescents in Indonesia. Social media no longer functions solely as a medium for communication and self-expression, but also as a social space that influences behavioral formation, including deviant and criminal behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on juvenile criminal behavior from a criminological perspective, with particular attention to social learning processes and the weakening of social control in digital environments. This research employs a qualitative method using a literature study approach by examining scientific journals, official reports, and statistical data related to social media use and adolescent behavior. The findings indicate that high intensity of social media use, exposure to negative content, and the normalization of aggressive behavior in digital spaces contribute to increased vulnerability of adolescents to criminal behaviors such as cyberbullying, online aggression, and other forms of deviance. Within the framework of Social Learning Theory, social media serves as a medium for behavioral learning through mechanisms of observation, imitation, and social reinforcement, while Social Control Theory highlights how weak supervision by families and educational institutions amplifies the risk of deviant behavior. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of preventive, non-penal approaches through strengthening social control, improving digital literacy, and enhancing the active role of families and schools to minimize the risk of juvenile criminal behavior in the digital era.

This research is motivated by the persistent difficulty elementary school-aged children have in controlling their emotions and behavior in social situations, particularly within the context of church community development. The study aimed to examine the effect of Christian values-based emotion management training on improving children's self-control. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design on 30 children aged 7–12 years at the GPM Wonreli–Kisar Congregation. The intervention was implemented over four days through activities involving emotion recognition, value reflection, emotion regulation training, and social simulations. Data were collected using a self-control scale and analyzed using paired-difference tests and effect size calculations. The results showed a significant increase in self-control scores after the training, with the largest changes in rule compliance and impulse control, and a more moderate increase in resilience to frustration. The effect size indicates a strong practical impact of the changes. These findings indicate that training that integrates social experiences and value reflection can facilitate the shift in behavioral control from external control to internal awareness. Practically, this research provides a basis for developing a community-based child development program that emphasizes not only discipline but also the understanding of values in character formation and self-regulation.

The rapid development of digital technology has increased the intensity of social media use among adolescents, particularly Instagram, leading to a decline in social interaction, low emotional regulation, and an increased tendency toward addictive behavior. Within the context of guidance and counseling, art possesses therapeutic potential, enabling students to express themselves and manage digital behaviors more adaptively. This study is a literature review analyzing seven selected scientific articles regarding the utilization of art in group counseling services. The analysis was conducted through data extraction of article characteristics, including research design, instruments, findings, and implications. The results indicate that art plays a significant role in supporting group dynamics, enhancing emotional regulation, and providing alternative activities capable of diverting students' attention from excessive Instagram use. Structured art activities also facilitate the development of self-awareness and self-control, thereby reducing the frequency of Instagram usage. These findings suggest that art-assisted group counseling is an effective and relevant strategy for guidance and counseling teachers to implement in addressing digital challenges within the school environment.

The development of social media in the digital era has a significant impact on the lives of students, both academically and morally. High levels of social media use are often accompanied by low self-control, potentially leading to impulsive behavior, digital addiction, and moral degradation. This study aims to analyze the effect of learning Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed) on students' self-control in social media use. The method used was library research, reviewing various relevant literature in the form of books, scientific journals, and other academic sources. The results indicate that learning Aqidah Akhlak plays a crucial role in shaping spiritual awareness, strengthening the values of patience, mujahadah an-nafs (self-control), iffah (self-control), and taqwa (obedience to God), which contribute to increased student self-control. By internalizing the values of monotheism and morality, students are better able to use social media wisely and proportionally.
