Mathematical connection ability is a crucial competence that should be developed from the elementary level, as it helps students understand the interrelationships between mathematical concepts and their applications in daily life. This study aims to analyze the mathematical connection abilities of first-grade elementary school students in learning flat shapes. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method using cognitive and psychomotor assessment instruments. The cognitive test consisted of multiple-choice and essay questions measuring students' ability to recognize, understand, classify, and apply flat shapes. The psychomotor test involved tasks such as assembling flat shapes into meaningful objects and classifying shapes by type. The results showed that students were fairly capable of identifying and grouping flat shapes, but had difficulty explaining classification reasons or relating shapes to real-life objects. The psychomotor results also indicated that fine motor skills and the ability to make real-world connections need improvement. These findings highlight the importance of contextual learning approaches and the use of concrete media to strengthen students’ mathematical connections from an early age.

Job analysis is a strategic tool in improving teacher performance, which serves to identify the tasks, responsibilities, and obligations inherent in the position. The main issue raised is the importance of placing teachers according to their qualifications and skills. Research shows that proper placement can improve teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes, because teachers who understand their roles can make better contributions to the educational process. Related studies show that job analysis not only helps in teacher placement, but also in their professional development. By identifying training needs, schools can design appropriate programs to improve teacher competency. Previous research has indicated a positive relationship between job analysis and teacher performance, but there is still a lack of understanding of the specific factors that influence the effectiveness of job analysis itself. Existing research gaps include the lack of exploration of how job analysis can be implemented effectively in different contexts and its impact on teacher motivation and commitment. Although there is evidence that job analysis has a positive effect on performance, further research is needed to explore other variables that may contribute to the success of this implementation. Therefore, this study aims to provide further insight into the application of job analysis as a strategy to improve teacher performance in schools.

This study explores the perceptions of teachers at State Elementary School 13/1 Muara Bulian regarding the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, focusing on two main aspects: its appealing features and the administrative challenges encountered. The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to offer more flexible learning, emphasize differentiated instruction, and strengthen student character through contextual projects based on the Profile of Pancasila Students. However, in practice, teachers face considerable administrative burdens, such as preparing teaching modules, reporting formative assessments, and managing the Pancasila Student Profile Reinforcement Projects (P5). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and observations involving directly engaged teachers. The findings show that while teachers appreciate the pedagogical freedom provided by the curriculum, they also express concerns over the increasing administrative demands, which are often unsupported by adequate training and resources. Therefore, practical measures are needed to offer professional assistance and streamline administrative tasks so that the Merdeka Curriculum can be implemented more effectively without overburdening educators.

This study aims to examine the implementation of political campaign regulations in broadcast media (television and radio) in the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan. The main focus of the study is on the effectiveness of coordination between policy implementing institutions—KPU, Bawaslu, and KPID—as well as communication patterns between supervisory institutions and broadcast in implementing campaign regulations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of regulations has not reached its intended purposes. The absence of a Task Force as a coordination forum and one-way institution communication are the main obstacles. This study recommends the establishment of a cross-institutional coordination forum for the upcoming governor elections. This step also needs to be balanced with the improvement of regulation understanding among media crews, and the active involvement of all broadcast media, including communities. Those are all fundamental to strengthen supervision and promote fair and transparent political campaigns.
