This article discusses the dynamics of Islamic education during the Sultanate of Banten, an Islamic kingdom that developed since the 16th century and became one of the centers of Islamic civilization in the archipelago. Islamic education in Banten not only shapes the Islamic identity of the community, but also strengthens morality, social solidarity, and cultural resilience. Islamic boarding schools are the main pillars of education that integrate the teaching of religious science, character education, and socio-religious practices. The role of pesantren expands, not only as a learning center, but also as a da'wah institution that instills the values of independence, justice, and brotherhood in the midst of a multicultural society. Great scholars such as Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani and Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassari have an important role in strengthening the scientific network between Banten, the Middle East, and the Islamic world. Their profound works in the fields of jurisprudence, Sufism, and morals had a great influence on the development of Islamic thought in Southeast Asia. The pesantren curriculum that focuses on the yellow book, with the teaching methods of sorogan, bandongan, and wetonan, produces students who are not only knowledgeable, but also disciplined, moral, and sensitive to social problems. The Dutch colonial period brought severe challenges with secular policies and restrictions on Islamic education. However, pesantren still exist as spiritual and intellectual fortresses. This success is supported by the ability of pesantren to develop economic independence and expand scientific networks through the overseas migration of students to various Islamic study centers abroad. Until now, Banten's Islamic education heritage has transformed into a modern Islamic boarding school that is able to combine classical traditions with technology and global insights. This study confirms that traditional Islamic education in Banten has a strategic role in shaping the social, spiritual, and identity structure of the Muslim community, which persists across generations.

This research aims to comprehensively explore the strategic role of educators in improving the quality of learning at the elementary school level. In the context of basic education, teachers play a central role as agents of change and the main drivers in the learning process. The main focus of this research includes three important aspects, namely the professionalism of teachers in carrying out their duties, the challenges faced in the implementation of teaching and learning activities, and optimization strategies carried out to improve the quality of learning. The research was conducted at SDN 2 Kerso, Jepara Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with educators and principals, direct observations in the classroom, and documentation of learning implementation plans and other supporting activities. The results of the study showed that the teachers in the school applied the practice of professionalism through work discipline, mastery of materials, pedagogical skills, and a humanist approach to students. In addition, they also use learning strategies that are adaptive, creative, and based on student needs. However, in practice, teachers face various challenges, including the diversity of student characters, low learning motivation, the influence of the family environment, limited learning facilities, and the lack of periodic training. To answer these challenges, teachers make various optimization efforts, such as participating in professional training, establishing collaboration between teachers, implementing reflective supervision, and building active communication with parents and the community. Support from school principals, committees, and social environments is also an important factor in supporting learning effectiveness. This study concludes that the improvement of the quality of learning in elementary schools is largely determined by the capacity, commitment, and ability of teachers to manage challenges creatively and professionally. With systemic support and sustainability of competency development, the role of teachers can be significantly optimized to create meaningful, effective, and sustainable learning.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of Canva and Nearpod digital platforms in supporting the strengthening of students' character at the elementary school level. Character education is a fundamental aspect in the formation of students' personalities who have integrity, toughness, and adaptability to the development of the times. In the digital era, interactive learning media is an important means to instill character values in a more interesting and contextual way. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, with the research subjects consisting of teachers, class V students, and students' parents. The learning process is designed to blend character education content with the use of Canva as a creative visual medium, as well as Nearpod as an interactive presentation tool that allows students to be active through online quizzes, assignments, and reflections. The results of the study showed a marked increase in students' learning motivation, attitude of responsibility, discipline, cooperation in groups, and the ability to make decisions independently. Parental involvement in digital learning also supports the consistency of character strengthening at home. However, the study also noted several challenges, such as the limitations of technological devices, unstable internet networks, and variations in students' and parents' digital literacy abilities. Recommended solutions include intensive training for teachers in the use of digital media, improved support facilities in schools, as well as a collaborative approach between teachers and parents. Thus, the integrated use of Canva and Nearpod not only supports mastery of academic materials, but also significantly strengthens students' character values holistically. This study is expected to be a reference in the development of digital learning innovations oriented towards character education at the elementary level.

The younger generation in Indonesia faces significant challenges in the form of an identity crisis and moral degradation due to the increasingly strong influence of other cultures in the era of globalization and the fifth industrial revolution. A pragmatic culture that does not always align with national identity puts pressure on Pancasila principles such as belief in God, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice. As a result, character education integrated into social studies instruction serves as a tactical tool to reintroduce these fundamental principles to students from an early age. This study, using qualitative methodology and a descriptive design, found that contextualized and project-based social studies instruction not only enhances students' understanding of Pancasila values but also fosters the growth of critical thinking skills, social empathy, reflective attitudes, and a spirit of cooperation. When combined with digital tools like Canva, Taman Siswa's teachings—niteni, niroake, and nambahi—have proven successful in developing students' creativity and enhancing their purpose and enjoyment in learning.

This study explores the philosophical and theological implications of John Dewey's pedagogical thought, particularly his emphasis on reflective practice and experiential learning, within the context of Contemporary Christian Religious Education (PAK). Despite its potential to foster active, student-centered learning, a significant gap exists in deeply examining how Dewey's principles align with or challenge PAK's theological aim of faith formation. This qualitative library research, employing Miles and Huberman's data analysis model, addresses this gap by synthesizing Dewey's pedagogical concepts with the Christian theology of spiritual growth, particularly informed by 1 Corinthians 3:6, which posits that God gives the increase. The findings reveal that Dewey's experiential learning framework can profoundly enrich PAK by shifting the teacher's role from a primary knowledge dispenser to a facilitator who guides students in applying biblical truths to real-life experiences. This approach encourages holistic development encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. However, the implementation necessitates a robust theological filter, maintaining that biblical truth is final and acknowledging God's sovereignty in true spiritual growth. The study concludes that while Dewey's pedagogy provides practical strategies for student engagement and character development, its successful integration into PAK hinges on a clear understanding of its theological boundaries, ensuring that pedagogical flexibility is balanced with doctrinal integrity. This research offers a theoretical foundation for transformative PAK practices, aiming to cultivate knowledgeable Christian students with deep and active faith.

This study aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout among final-year students in Jakarta. Academic burnout is defined as stress arising from the learning process that results in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low academic performance (Sagita & Meilyawati, 2021). Perfectionism is considered a personality disposition characterized by concerns about self-evaluation, overly critical self-assessment, and striving to achieve perfect personal standards (Hill, 2017). This study employs a quantitative approach, involving final-year university students in Jakarta aged 20–25 years who are in their 7th–9th semesters. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measurement tools used were the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale developed by Flett and Hewitt (1991) and the School Burnout Inventory developed by Salmela-Aro, Kiuru, Leskinen, and Nurmi in 2009. The results of the correlation test using Pearson Correlation yielded a value of r = 0.854, with significance 0.000 p < 0.05. These results indicate that there is a relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout among final-year students in Jakarta. Based on the correlation test per dimension, the results show that there is a relationship between perfectionism and all dimensions of academic burnout, especially the exhaustion dimension. Additionally, there is a relationship between academic burnout and all dimensions of perfectionism, particularly the socially prescribed perfectionism dimension. This indicates that the higher an individual's level of perfectionism, the higher their level of academic burnout.
