Education about ecosystems and environmental balance at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in fostering awareness and environmental care attitudes from an early age. This article examines the effectiveness of ecosystem learning through contextual and project-based learning approaches to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental balance. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, where data were obtained from various recent journals and books discussing environmental education and conservation in elementary schools. The findings show that learning activities involving direct engagement such as environmental observation, planting, and waste management can strengthen conceptual understanding while building students’ environmental care character. Additionally, the teacher’s role as a facilitator is vital to the success of the learning process. Despite various challenges in implementing environmental education, integrating ecosystem content with character education provides a strong foundation for developing a young generation that is environmentally conscious and responsible for environmental preservation. These findings emphasize the importance of systematically and sustainably implementing ecosystem learning in the elementary school curriculum as a strategic effort towards environmental sustainability.

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed the landscape of language learning, particularly in the post-pandemic era where self-directed learning through mobile applications and online platforms is increasingly common. This study explores the effectiveness of two popular digital tools LuvLingua and YouTube in supporting independent Japanese language learning among Indonesian university students. LuvLingua offers a structured, gamified approach suitable for beginners, while YouTube provides authentic and contextual exposure through real-life content. Using a descriptive quantitative method, this research involved twelve students from non-language majors who actively use both platforms to study Japanese. The findings reveal that each platform has distinct advantages: LuvLingua excels in foundational vocabulary and pronunciation, whereas YouTube significantly enhances listening skills and cultural understanding. The combination of both platforms yields optimal learning outcomes, although success heavily depends on learners’ motivation, discipline, and time management. This study contributes to the growing body of research on technology-assisted language learning and provides practical recommendations for learners, educators, and content developers.

This research analyses the implementation of Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) at Algerian universities and its potential for encouraging undergraduate learners to academically acquire learning, enhancing self-regulated learning strategies, and enhancing interdisciplinarity collaboration. This research adopted the mixed-method approach and used a quantitative tool (the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ)) and obtained qualitative data through reflective journals, interviews, and classroom observation. Outcomes show that CBL greatly affects enhancing students' motivation and supporting self-directed actions such as goal-setting, time management, and metacognitive processing. Interdisciplinary cooperation was also determined to be supportive for student engagement and problem-solving capacity. Students and instructors predominantly reported positive opinions regarding CBL, highlighting the relevancy, authenticity, and cooperation aspects of CBL. These findings validate the four study hypotheses and endorse the pedagogical shift towards active, student-centered learning in Algerian universities. The research concludes with strategic suggestions to institutionalize CBL, reassess assessment practices, and encourage professional development in support of the faculty utilizing this new pedagogy.

This study aims to identify the optimal model in the integration of philosophical disciplines in the structure of the educational program of “Public Administration” students, as well as explore the features of the management of educational strategies suitable for the training of civil servants. The main focus of this research is: 1) academic management strategies to overcome curriculum overlap due to the dominance of philosophical disciplines in public administration study programs; 2) adaptation of educational programs for public administration students to be in line with the needs of the world of work, both at national and international levels; 3) characteristics of internationalization of public administration education programs, especially in the context of academic mobility and adaptation of the Indonesian public administration system to global standards. This research uses the cultural-historical analysis approach, comparative method, structural-functional method, and expert evaluation to explore and analyze problems and develop solutions. The research findings show that the dominance of traditional philosophy courses in the curriculum is often ineffective in shaping the competencies needed in the world of work. The research identified three main challenges: saturation of the curriculum with theoretical courses, lack of connection between the curriculum and the practical needs of the working world, and low use of English in teaching key courses. To address these issues, this research proposes restructuring the curriculum through the integration of three disciplinary groups: applied logic, cultural studies, and applied political science. In addition, the implementation of a contextualized bilingual learning model is also considered as a solution to improve the relevance of the curriculum. The uniqueness of this article lies in its approach that combines philosophical studies with managerial strategies in curriculum design, complemented by empirical experiences from international and cross-institutional cooperation. This article offers a reinterpretation of the utilization of philosophy as a tool for the development of professional competence in public administration education, not just as an abstract worldview.
