This research aims to identify various challenges in teaching Citizenship Education (PKn) in elementary schools and propose solutions to overcome common obstacles in the learning process. The study employs a literature review approach, analyzing various sources such as scholarly articles, journals, and relevant documents. Data collection methods include literature review, listening techniques, and note-taking. The findings indicate several issues in PKn learning at the elementary level, including: (1) teachers’ limited understanding of appropriate learning models aligned with 21st-century education demands, (2) insufficient use of instructional media tailored to students’ characteristics, (3) inadequate supporting facilities such as books and other learning resources, and (4) student learning difficulties influenced by both internal and external factors. This study concludes that implementing innovative learning models, integrating technology into the teaching and learning process, and adopting more flexible and interactive strategies are essential to enhancing the effectiveness of PKn instruction in elementary schools. Moreover, effective communication between teachers, students, and schools plays a crucial role in improving learning quality.

This study analyzes the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 35 Medan in an effort to improve education quality. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observations and interviews conducted at the school. Observations focus on assessing the condition of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and supporting infrastructure, while interviews with key informants, including a science teacher and the vice principal for facilities, provide deeper insights into the management and challenges of school infrastructure. The findings indicate that although the school meets the minimum facility standards as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005, several challenges remain, including budget constraints, lack of facility maintenance by students, and limited human resources. To optimize facility usage, the school needs to implement strategies such as regular maintenance, budget optimization through external collaborations, enhancement of the digital inventory system, and strengthening Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, integrating technology in learning and increasing student awareness of facility maintenance are crucial solutions. By implementing these recommendations, facility and infrastructure management is expected to become more effective, creating a more comfortable and supportive learning environment for both students and educators.

This study aims to improve the singing skills of sixth grade students at State Elementary School 173632 through the national song "Indonesia Raya". application of vocal techniques. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a classroom action research (CAR) method approach which is carried out in several cycles, including the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The results of the study indicate that the systematic application of vocal techniques can improve the quality of students' singing. Diaphragm breathing exercises help students control their voices more stably, articulation techniques make song lyrics clearer, intonation exercises improve pitch accuracy, and expression techniques help students convey emotions in songs better. Data analysis shows an increase in the average singing skills of students from the category of sufficient to good after being given action. In addition, the results of observations show that the majority of students feel more confident and enjoy learning to sing with a vocal technique approach. Thus, this study can help improve students' vocal skills as well as knowledge for students and teachers as well as for readers.

This study uses a qualitative approach that describes the object studied through the process of exploring facts and data on objects in the field as they are, to achieve these objectives, data is needed that is excavated from an in-depth observation process with the principal, vice principal, head of the welding and metal fabrication engineering expertise program and teachers of productive subjects. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews with, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation methods. The results of the study indicate that the suitability of students' technical and non-technical competencies with industry needs greatly determines the success rate of graduates in the workforce. Relevant competencies, such as mastery of modern welding technology and soft skills such as communication and teamwork, are key factors. In addition, it was found that aligning the curriculum with industry standards and the active involvement of industry partners through internship programs contributed significantly to improving the quality of graduates. This study recommends strengthening cooperation between vocational schools and the industrial world and developing training programs based on labor market needs.

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of daily journal assignments in improving elementary school students' writing skills. By using qualitative research methods through a library research approach, various literature and previous research results were studied comprehensively. The research results show that daily journal assignments have a significant positive impact on improving students' writing skills, which include linguistic aspects, idea development, writing coherence, and self-expression. This research also identified several supporting factors for the successful implementation of daily journals, such as consistency of assignments, clear guidelines, quality feedback, and support from the learning environment. The findings of this research provide practical implications for educators in developing effective writing learning strategies at the elementary school level.

The improvement of educational facilities and infrastructure is a crucial factor in enhancing the quality of learning, especially in rural areas such as Sugarang Bayu Village. This study aims to analyze the condition of educational facilities and infrastructure in the village and identify the efforts that have been made and can be undertaken to improve them. The research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that educational facilities in Sugarang Bayu Village remain limited, particularly in terms of classroom availability, laboratories, libraries, and access to educational technology. The primary challenges include budget constraints and limited support from policymakers. However, initiatives from the community and schools have emerged to address these issues, such as fundraising and collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations. Therefore, synergy between the government, the community, and the private sector is essential to ensure sustainable improvements in educational infrastructure. By enhancing educational facilities, the quality of learning and students' academic performance in Sugarang Bayu Village is expected to improve, ultimately fostering a more competitive human resource base.

This study aims to analyze the challenges and solutions applied in the implementation of inclusive education in the region. The results of the study indicate that the main challenges in inclusive education include limited facilities that support the needs of children with disabilities, the lack of teachers with special competencies, and minimal public understanding of the importance of inclusive education. Additionally, the limitations in resources and the lack of training for educators are also significant barriers to providing quality education for all children. However, several solutions have been implemented to address these issues. These solutions include improving teacher training to ensure educators have sufficient skills and knowledge in handling children with special needs, providing more supportive facilities and infrastructure such as disability-friendly classrooms, and efforts to socialize the importance of inclusive education to the community to reduce stigma against children with special needs. This study emphasizes that collaboration between the government, schools, and the community is essential to strengthen the implementation of inclusive education, in order to create a more inclusive and equitable learning environment for all children in North Sumatra.

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is one of the leading initiatives launched by the government of President Prabowo Subianto. The main objective of this program is to address nutritional problems and improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia, with a special focus on children and pregnant women. And it is also a plan for distributing nutritious meals in schools which is expected to provide justice in education because all students have the opportunity to eat nutritious food for free. Since its announcement, the implementation plan for this program has undergone various developments. Of course, this will later have an impact on student learning outcomes. In this study or research, we use the Descriptive Qualitative research method using or through Observation, Interviews, and Documentation. The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of this nutritious meal program runs at SMK Negeri 6 Medan during the trial period, as well as its impact on student learning outcomes and the challenges faced in its implementation.    

Elementary School Students' Misconceptions about Science Concepts: Case Study in Grade VI of SDN 024755 This study aims to identify and analyze the misconceptions held by sixth-grade students at SDN 024755 regarding basic science concepts. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and diagnostic tests specifically designed to reveal students' misconceptions. The results show that most students struggle with understanding certain science concepts, such as the water cycle, photosynthesis, and gravity. The misconceptions found include incorrect understandings of the processes of evaporation and condensation, the role of chlorophyll in photosynthesis, and the concepts of force and motion. These findings highlight the need for more effective teaching approaches in introducing and reinforcing science concepts at the elementary school level. Recommendations from this study include developing more interactive and contextual learning strategies to address students' misconceptions, as well as improving the quality of teacher training in science education.

The interaction between teachers and students plays a crucial role in creating an effective learning environment. Empathy-based communication is an approach that can enhance the quality of interaction by understanding students' emotional and academic needs. This study aims to analyze the role of empathetic communication in supporting the teaching process. A qualitative research approach was employed, with a case study conducted at SDN 060842 Sekip Medan. Data were collected through observations and interviews with homeroom teachers. The findings indicate that empathy-based communication can increase student participation, create a positive learning environment, and help teachers identify learning obstacles. However, the implementation of empathetic communication still faces challenges, such as teachers' workload and time constraints. Therefore, training and policies that support its implementation in schools are necessary. This study emphasizes that empathetic communication is not just a teaching strategy but also a means of building stronger and more harmonious relationships between teachers and students.

This study discusses the comparative implementation of the 2013 Curriculum (K13) and the Independent Curriculum in elementary education at UPT SD Negeri 060816. The main focus of this study is to analyze the differences in implementation, identify the challenges and advantages of each curriculum, and evaluate their impact on learning effectiveness. The research method used is observation and interviews with grade 4 and 6 teachers as the main respondents. The results of the study show that the 2013 Curriculum is more structured with complete learning materials, while the Independent Curriculum provides flexibility for teachers and students in the project-based learning process. However, there are significant challenges in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, including limited learning resources, demands for teacher creativity, minimal parental participation, and difficulties in project-based assessments. However, both curricula have their respective advantages in developing student competencies. This study is expected to contribute to understanding the effectiveness of both curricula at the elementary education level and become a reference for policy makers in improving the quality of learning in schools.

Because there are no schools in the area, children have to go to other villages to study, which has an impact on their physical condition, study time, and safety. Excessive use of electronic devices also has a negative impact on children's learning efforts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the challenges of education in the area and offer community-based solutions involving the government, community, and the use of technology. This study identifies various approaches to tutoring and research related to children's schools. The qualitative methods used are direct observation and interviews. The results of the study indicate that community-based solutions can effectively and sustainably improve access to education. Through the Student Service Practice Lecture Program (KPPM), children's interest in education has increased, especially in mathematics and English. In addition, students' social interactions with children help them reduce their dependence on electronic devices and increase awareness of the importance of education. Further collaboration is needed between the government, community, and educational institutions to achieve long-term goals, such as further school construction, improving teacher quality, and monitoring the use of electronic devices to increase children's learning opportunities.

In the implementation of PLP at SMKN 6 Pekanbaru, four students participated in this activity from January 13 to February 22, 2025. They were given the opportunity to teach English to students in grades 10 (RPL 1 & 2), 10 (TE 1 & 2), and 11 (MEKA 1 & 2). Through this program, students can gain valuable experience in managing classes, compiling learning tools, and interacting directly with students and educators. In addition, the PLP program also provides benefits for schools in improving the quality of learning. The community service aims to improve the understanding of grade 1 students of SDN 173635 Parparean II on the concept of addition through the use of diagram tables 1-9. This service activity was carried out by KPPM students of HKBP Nommensen University Medan in Parparean II village, Porsea District, Toba Regency. The methods used in this service are observation and evaluation test. The results of the service showed that the use of diagrammatic tables improved students understanding of the concept of addition. Students stated that the use of diagrammatic tables helped them understand the material better. By looking at the numbers in the 1-9 table, they can easily follow the addition steps and understand the relationship between numbers. This shows that the visual aids such as diagrammatic tables are very effective in supporting the teaching and learning process, especially for basic mathematics concepts that are often a challenge for students and the use of this learning method also creates a more interesting and interactive classroom atmosphere. Through this service can make an important contribution in improving the quality of education. The use of table diagrams can be expanded in various school, so that they can understand how to implement this method into the learning process in the future.

Teachers in education play a significant role in the quality of classroom learning. Although teachers are not the only factor influencing educational success, they are an essential component of the overall educational process. This study aims to assist teachers in improving basic literacy and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) skills in early childhood education at the RA Al-Mahir Foundation. The research seeks to explore the improvement of basic literacy and STEAM in early childhood learning, the stages and implementation of these improvements, and the challenges teachers face in enhancing literacy and STEAM at the foundation. The subjects of this study were classroom teachers and school principals. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that there are two key aspects: first, teacher performance in improving basic literacy and STEAM at the RA Al-Mahir Foundation has been excellent, particularly through the use of methods like reading, singing, and experimental play. Second, the activities aimed at improving literacy and STEAM have been effective and well implemented. The learning process at the RA Al-Mahir Foundation is running smoothly, with teachers successfully increasing children's interest in literacy and STEAM. This includes improved reading interest, focus during reading and experimental activities, politeness in the learning process, and good behavior, all contributing to a positive learning environment.

This study aims to determine the strength of the positive and significant relationship between the teaching attitude of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers and the learning motivation of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Sipoholon in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research uses a quantitative method with descriptive inferential statistical analysis. The population of the study consists of all class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sipoholon in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 281 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling, selecting 25% of the population, which is 65 students. The research instrument used is a closed-ended questionnaire. The data analysis results show that: a) The calculated r value = 0.560 > the r table value = 0.244, indicating a positive relationship between variable X (the teaching attitude of PAK teachers) and variable Y (the students' learning motivation). b) Hypothesis testing showed that t count = 5.365 > t table = 1.980, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between the teaching attitude of PAK teachers and the learning motivation of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Sipoholon in the 2024/2025 academic year. These findings are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of learning in the school.

This Community Service Program aims to improve the quality of education in Pasar Melintang Village, Lubuk Pakam, North Sumatra, through the establishment of a Learning House. This initiative is designed to provide additional educational access for children and teenagers who face limitations in obtaining quality formal education. The program focuses on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills while providing academic support to help students better understand their school subjects. The methods used include an initial survey to identify educational needs, the implementation of structured learning activities, and the evaluation of the program's impact on student development. The results of the program show a significant improvement in reading and writing skills, as well as in understanding basic numeracy concepts. Additionally, this program contributes to raising community awareness about the importance of education. The presence of the Learning House is expected to have a long-term positive impact, preparing the younger generation in the village to face academic and social challenges in the future. Thus, this program not only provides direct benefits to the students but also creates a positive shift in the collective awareness of the community regarding the importance of education.

This service aims to analyze the improvement of learning quality at SD Negeri 173653 Nalela through the application of additional learning methods. This activity was carried out by HKBP Nommensen University students involved in the Community Service Practice Lecture (KPPM) program. The research method in this service is a qualitative analysis approach. To obtain the necessary data and information, observations and interviews were conducted. Information is obtained from direct observation, interviews, and also documentation in the form of photographs of activities. The results of this service show that this program has succeeded in increasing student motivation and understanding of the subject matter. In addition, the social interaction that occurs in additional learning activities creates a more supportive environment, so students feel more motivated. However, the challenges faced include the long distance between each elementary school student's home and the KPPM Group IX pokso. This additional learning work program is strongly supported by the Nalela village community as parents of children who participate in additional learning. This service suggests that the additional learning program be expanded to include more students and actively involve parents and the community. With a comprehensive approach, it is hoped that the quality of education in SD Negeri 173653 Nalela can continue to improve.
