Ethics plays a vital role in the philosophy of education, serving as a moral foundation that guides both the aims and processes of education. Education is not solely concerned with the acquisition of knowledge, but also with the development of students' character. In this regard, ethics provides a framework of values that directs the relationships between educators and learners in a humane and dignified manner. An ethical foundation in educational philosophy encourages critical reflection on educational practices and policies. Values such as justice, responsibility, and empathy serve as essential principles in creating a conducive and fair learning environment for all stakeholders. Without ethics, education risks becoming mechanistic and unresponsive to social and human needs. Educators, as moral agents, are expected not only to deliver knowledge but also to exemplify ethical behavior in their daily lives. Therefore, ethical education must begin with the training of future teachers, equipping them to nurture a generation that is not only intellectually capable but also morally wise. In this way, ethics in the philosophy of education becomes a central pillar in building a civilized and character-driven society. 65% of teachers consider teaching hours insufficient, 42% of schools do not have a structured cultural program, 78% of bullying cases occur due to weak supervision.

The Child Protection Law affirms that the state guarantees children's rights to “protection from violence” as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution. This paper examines child abuse within the framework of Indonesian positive law using a normative approach and legal philosophy (positivism). The focus of the analysis is to what extent legal norms (such as the Child Protection Law, the Criminal Code, the Domestic Violence Law, etc.) align with the values of justice and children's human rights. A normative approach is used to analyze the laws and legal literature, while the philosophical approach, particularly the positivist ideas of Hans Kelsen and H.L.A. Hart, is employed to understand the relationship between legal norms and the concept of justice. The analysis reveals that although child protection regulations exist, their implementation on the ground tends to be legalistic, often neglecting humanitarian and justice elements. This study emphasizes the need for alignment between legal norms and substantive justice and the protection of children's human rights. The implication of this research is the need for a legal policy that is more responsive to children's rights and justice.

This study addresses the Islamic reform movement in Egypt as a strategic and progressive response to both Western colonial domination and internal stagnation within the Muslim society. It analyzes the intellectual legacy of key reformers—Jamal al-Din al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, and Rashid Rida—who endeavored to reinterpret Islamic tenets through the lens of modern rationalism, scientific advancement, and updated political governance. Employing a historical-analytical perspective, this paper explores how these thinkers initiated transformative changes in religious exegesis, educational renewal, and Islamic legal discourse. The findings indicate that the reform movement was not merely a defensive reaction to modernity but a deliberate effort to revive ijtihad, cleanse Islamic belief from irrational traditions, and stimulate a socio-political revival grounded in Islamic ethical principles. Ultimately, this reformist legacy laid the groundwork for the evolution of modern Islamic thought across the Arab world and remains highly relevant in present-day discussions on Islam and modernity.

This paper examines human actions within social media interactions, with a particular emphasis on the phenomenon of cyberbullying from the perspective of ethical philosophy. The focus of this study is not on the entire scope of ethics in human life, but specifically on evaluating whether cyberbullying can be categorized as morally good or bad according to ethical principles. In everyday life, such actions are often carried out unconsciously by the perpetrators, and many even deny having committed them, due to a lack of understanding about the various forms of cyberbullying. This study employs a qualitative method in the form of a literature review, analyzing various scholarly works and previous studies to explore how ethical philosophy can serve as a framework for assessing the moral value of human behavior in digital spaces. Through this approach, the paper aims to provide a deeper ethical understanding of cyberbullying and to foster critical awareness within society in evaluating and reflecting upon online behavior in contemporary social life.

This paper aims to explore and integrate three disciplines—philosophy, history, and biology—in order to strengthen and clarify the rational foundation of the Christian faith. Using a qualitative approach, the author examines the contributions of philosophy in formulating rational arguments for the existence of God, the historical connections in the development of the early church, and the accuracy of biblical narratives based on archaeological findings. Biology, particularly through the complex structure of DNA and the order found in living systems, is also viewed as evidence of a divine design underlying all of creation. Through the synthesis of these three disciplines, this article asserts that the Christian faith is not in conflict with reason and science but can be defended logically and scientifically. Thinkers such as Plantinga and Craig demonstrate how philosophical arguments and historical data support the validity of faith, while scientists like Francis Collins show how science can deepen our understanding of God's greatness. This integration is intended as a constructive response to the challenges of modernity and as a foundation for Christians to maintain a firm, intelligent, and relevant faith in the midst of changing times.

This study explores the philosophy of wasiat wajibah (obligatory bequest) within the Islamic inheritance law system in Indonesia, by examining its philosophical, normative, and practical foundations in the context of national law. Wasiat wajibah is a legal institution that grants a mandatory inheritance share to heirs who are otherwise excluded from inheritance rights, such as grandchildren whose parent (the child of the deceased) has passed away before the testator. The purpose of this study is to examine the philosophical foundations of wasiat wajibah, its relevance to the Islamic principle of justice, and its integration into Indonesia's positive legal system. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a normative-philosophical method. Data were collected through literature review of both primary and secondary sources, including classical Islamic jurisprudence texts, Indonesian legal regulations (such as the Compilation of Islamic Law), and philosophical writings on Islamic legal thought. The data were analyzed interpretively and reflectively through textual and conceptual analysis. The findings indicate that wasiat wajibah is grounded in strong philosophical principles of justice, compassion, and protection of vulnerable groups. In the Indonesian context, this concept has been incorporated into the Compilation of Islamic Law, particularly in Article 209, as a form of legal adaptation to the complex and plural realities of modern society. However, its implementation still faces challenges due to differing scholarly opinions among Islamic schools of thought and limited awareness among legal practitioners. In conclusion, wasiat wajibah serves as a bridge between Islamic moral values and a responsive positive legal system. A philosophical approach to wasiat wajibah reinforces the urgency of reconstructing the Islamic inheritance system in Indonesia to be more just, adaptive, and contextually relevant.

This study aims to find out more specifically about the goals and functions of philosophy in the development of science. This study uses a qualitative approach to the SLR (systematic literature review) method. Literature sources are taken from the Google Scholar database of journals and books. The results of this study are the philosophy of science as an explanation of the existence of science against other sciences that require knowledge as a medium for scientific thinking. Philosophy aims to encourage scientists to study scientific developments. The philosophy of science must be integrated with the development of science in order to realize the function of science, especially moral and intellectual aspects. This is because science is independent or neutral and does not mean good or bad, the development of science also develops the philosophy of science, because the philosophy of science has a role as a manifestation of good scientific ethics. The philosophy of science is very crucial in elaborating on educational values in general and specifically in education, both ontologically, epistemologically, axiologically and anthropologically.

This article explores the dynamics of Islamic educational thought through the perspective of three influential figures: Al-Ghazali, Ikhwan al-Shafa, and Ibn Khaldun. Al-Ghazali, representing the conservative school, emphasizes education as a process of character building and drawing closer to Allah. Ikhwan al-Shafa, with their rational-religious school, emphasizes the importance of logic, observation, and dialectics in acquiring knowledge. Ibn Khaldun, as a representative of the pragmatic school, emphasizes education that is oriented towards social contribution and based on reality. This article analyzes the fundamental differences and contemporary relevance of these three schools, showing that an ideal Islamic education is one that can unite the three schools within the framework of an adaptive and responsive curriculum.

Modern education often emphasizes cognitive and technological aspects, while spiritual aspects are often neglected. In fact, in Islamic educational philosophy, the integration of spiritual values is an important part in forming the character of students who are moral and competitive. This study aims to (1) analyze the concept of Islamic educational philosophy from the perspective of integrating spiritual values, (2) identify spiritual values that can be integrated into the modern education system, and (3) explore effective strategies in their implementation. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach to relevant sources. The results of the study indicate that Islamic educational philosophy emphasizes a balance between intellectual and spiritual aspects to form individuals who have high moral awareness. Spiritual values such as monotheism, morals, and worship can be adapted into a modern curriculum through contextual and experience-based learning methods. The implementation of this integration strategy includes a holistic approach in the curriculum, teacher training, and the creation of a learning environment that supports the spiritual growth of students. Thus, the integration of spiritual values in modern education contributes to the formation of a more complete and balanced character.

Generation Z (born 1997–2012) in Indonesia experiences an increase in anxiety disorders due to social media pressure, academic stress, social isolation, and future uncertainty. Modern psychological approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy are widely used, but often do not involve the spiritual aspects that are important in Indonesian culture. This research aims to examine the handling of anxiety in Generation Z through the perspective of Islamic philosophy, especially the thought of Ibn Sina. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that Ibn Sina views mental health as a balance between body, soul, and intellect (vegetable, animal, and rational nafs). It offers a holistic approach that includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual therapies, such as art, music, prayer, and dhikr. This approach has the potential to help Generation Z deal with anxiety not only from a medical perspective, but also through strengthening the meaning of life and spirituality. The contribution of this research is to provide a philosophical framework that integrates modern psychological interventions with Islamic spiritual traditions, thereby offering a more culturally relevant approach to dealing with anxiety in adolescents.

This study aims to describe the principles of legality in Indonesia and France. This study uses normative legal research methods, namely secondary legal materials in the form of data obtained from books and opinions of experts related to this study. The results of this study indicate that the principles of legality in Indonesia and France highlight the importance of legal certainty, human rights, and a sense of justice in the criminal law system. In Indonesia, the principle of legality has been regulated in the Criminal Code since 1946, but its application is often not pure because of the customary law that still applies. Although there have been amendment efforts, it often ends in a confusing system. Meanwhile, in France, the principle of legality developed from resistance to arbitrary power, which was emphasized in the Habeas Corpus Act in England in 1679. This principle gives parliament the authority to determine the components of violations and their sanctions, as a guarantee of the freedom of citizens from excessive tyrannical actions.

This article explores the nature of the philosophy of Islamic education and its integration with the philosophy of mathematics in the learning process. The philosophy of Islamic education is rooted in the Qur’an and As-Sunnah and is further reinforced by the thoughts of Muslim philosophers. It encompasses three main aspects: ontology (the nature of existence), epistemology (the sources and methods of acquiring knowledge), and axiology (values and purposes). Islamic education aims not only to shape individual character but also to build a holistic educational system based on Islamic values. In this context, education is not merely a process of knowledge transfer but a means of fostering moral and spiritual development in learners. On the other hand, the philosophy of mathematics from the perspective of Islamic education emphasizes that mathematics is not solely an exact science of arithmetic, but also a discipline closely related to ethical and moral values in Islam. Mathematics is viewed as part of the divine order of Allah’s creation, reflecting His greatness. Therefore, the integration of Islamic educational philosophy and mathematical philosophy in learning offers a deeper approach to mathematical concepts. This approach not only enhances students’ cognitive understanding of the material but also instills spiritual awareness and values of faith and piety. By combining scientific and religious aspects, the learning process becomes more systematic, meaningful, and aligned with the comprehensive goals of Islamic education.

The development of responsible knowledge requires a strong moral foundation, one of which is through the application of akhlakul karimah (noble character). Good, noble, and commendable ethics play a crucial role in creating knowledge that is not only practically beneficial but also has a positive impact on humanity and the environment. The main issue addressed in this study is how akhlakul karimah can shape the behavior of scientists in developing ethical knowledge and how it contributes to the construction of responsible science. This research employs a library research approach. The findings indicate that akhlakul karimah is essential in guiding scientists to uphold integrity, honesty, and social responsibility in research and the application of knowledge.
