Language is the primary means of communication in human life. The absorption of English into Indonesian among university students is an increasingly prominent phenomenon with the development of globalization and digital technology. This study aims to analyze the impact of this absorption on the emergence of new words or terms used by students in academic contexts and everyday communication. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This approach was chosen because this study aims to describe and analyze linguistic phenomena and their impact on the Indonesian language. The results of the analysis show that the absorption of English has given rise to various new terms that are practical, concise, and contextual, such as deadline, submit, healing, burnout, as well as mixed forms with Indonesian affixes such as nge-print and di-upload. These terms facilitate communication and enrich students' linguistic expression. However, on the other hand, the use of these new terms has the potential to displace the use of standard Indonesian equivalents. Thus, the absorption of English has a dual impact: enriching vocabulary through the formation of new terms while also requiring a wise attitude to maintain the existence of the Indonesian language.

This article examines Indonesia’s public policy on personal data protection in light of Law No. 27/2022, which mandates the establishment of an independent Personal Data Protection Authority (PDP Authority). Despite this legal requirement (Article 58 UU PDP), no such institution has been formed. As a result, there is currently no supervisory authority with the mandate to audit compliance, impose administrative sanctions, or resolve data protection disputes. Enforcement of the law has thus remained reactive rather than preventive, with violations prosecuted only after harm occurs. Experts warn that without a strong implementing agency, deterrence is weak: administrative sanctions cannot be effectively applied and punished violations continue unchecked. Cybersecurity analysts even describe this gap as a national digital protection crisis, as personal data leaks (e.g. millions of citizens’ records exposed in recent breaches) continue unabated. Using a normative legal research approach and literature review, this study analyzes how the lack of the mandated PDP Authority undermines the effectiveness of data protection in Indonesia. The article reviews relevant legal theory on regulatory independence and deterrence, and compares with international best practices (e.g. EU/GDPR). We find that the absence of the agency creates serious implementation gaps, and we urge the government to immediately form the PDP Authority and clarify its powers.

Schools are formal educational institutions that play a crucial role in transferring knowledge and shaping students' cognitive, psychomotor, and character development systematically and responsibly. While the "school of life" is often defined as a non-formal learning space, formal schools retain a strategic position because they provide a clear ontological, epistemological, and axiological framework, including in the formation of students' character and self-concept. However, the reality on the ground shows that labeling practices are still prevalent in the school environment, both by teachers and fellow students, which negatively impact students' psychological, emotional, social, and self-concept. Negative labels such as stupid, lazy, naughty, or physical and social labels have been shown to cause "invisible wounds" that affect students' self-esteem and functioning in the long term. This study uses qualitative methods through a literature review to examine the phenomenon of labeling and its impact on the formation of students' self-concept within the framework of Christian Character Education. The results of the study indicate that Christian Character Education, which is based on the values of love, acceptance, and respect for human dignity as God's creation, has a strategic role in restoring the self-concept of students affected by labeling. Christian character education not only instills moral and ethical values, but also builds students' inner and spiritual resilience so that they are able to interpret themselves positively, regardless of the negative labels they receive.

Students in multilingual higher education contexts often face linguistic and identity challenges when engaging with formal and normative academic Indonesian. In such settings, translanguaging emerges as a natural and strategic practice that allows students to draw on their full linguistic repertoires, including local languages, to construct meaning and negotiate academic understanding. This study aims to examine students’ translanguaging practices and their contribution to the formation of academic identity in Indonesian language learning at the university level. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with students and lecturers, and document analysis of learning materials and students’ academic assignments. The findings reveal that translanguaging functions as both a cognitive and affective strategy that facilitates conceptual understanding, enhances participation, and strengthens students’ academic confidence. Moreover, translanguaging plays a crucial role in shaping an inclusive and hybrid academic identity, positioning local languages as legitimate pedagogical resources rather than obstacles. These findings highlight the need to recognize translanguaging within language policy and curriculum design to support equitable and context-sensitive academic learning in multilingual higher education.

Evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning plays a strategic role in assessing the achievement of educational goals while supporting the character development of students. The evaluation process not only considers cognitive aspects but also includes affective and psychomotor aspects, such as the appreciation of religious values, noble morals, and the ability to perform religious services. This study aims to describe the relationship between the scope of PAI evaluation and the process of character development of students. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with the research location at SDN Ngebel, Kasihan, Bantul. The research subjects included PAI teachers, students in grades I, V, and VI, and several parents. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, students, and guardians, observations of learning activities and religious practices, and documentation, including records of grades and religious activity agendas. Using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, data analysis included the stages of presentation, reduction, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation methods and sources ensured the validity of the data. The results showed that the implementation of a comprehensive PAI evaluation, which included academic assessment, religious practices, and moral behavior, had a significant impact on the development of student character. This is especially true in terms of religiosity, discipline, and responsibility. Therefore, the broader and more integrated the scope of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) evaluation, the greater its contribution to the overall character formation of students.

Corruption is a serious problem that leads to declining public trust, weakened governance, and hindered national development. Beyond economic losses, corruption also erodes moral values, ethics, and social justice within society. Therefore, corruption prevention efforts must be carried out systematically and sustainably, one of which is through the internalization of anti-corruption values at an early stage, particularly among students as future generations. This community service activity aimed to instill values of integrity, honesty, responsibility, and public ethics among students through the Anti-Corruption Generation Interactive Seminar, conducted in commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day 2025. The activity involved approximately 150 junior and senior high school students in Makassar. The method employed was an interactive seminar implemented through material presentations and discussions between speakers and participants. The seminar materials emphasized an understanding of the dangers of corruption, its impacts on national and social life, and the strategic role of students in fostering an anti-corruption culture within schools and the wider community. The evaluation of the activity was conducted through observation of participant engagement and responses during the seminar. The results indicated an increase in students’ understanding and awareness of anti-corruption values, as well as the importance of integrity-oriented behavior in everyday life. This activity demonstrates that interactive seminars can serve as an effective approach to supporting students’ character development and strengthening preventive efforts against corruption.

The digitalization of payment systems constitutes an integral part of economic digital transformation, driving a shift in transactions from cash-based to technology-based cashless payments. In Indonesia, this digitalization is manifested through the development of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) by Bank Indonesia as a national standard for QR code–based payments. Along with its development, QRIS has not only been used in domestic transactions but has also been implemented in cross-border transactions through intercountry payment system cooperation, particularly within the ASEAN region. However, the rapid expansion of QRIS has not been accompanied by comprehensive and structured legal regulation. This study aims to analyze the structure and hierarchy of QRIS regulation within Indonesia’s payment system as well as the forms of legal protection for consumers in cross-border QRIS transactions. The research employs a normative juridical method using statutory, historical, and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that QRIS does not yet have a Bank Indonesia Regulation as a primary regulatory framework and is regulated solely through a Regulation of Members of the Board of Governors, which hierarchically functions as an implementing regulation. Consequently, QRIS regulation refers to several different Bank Indonesia Regulations, resulting in regulatory fragmentation. This condition has implications for legal uncertainty and the suboptimal legal protection of consumers in cross-border QRIS transactions.

This study aims to describe the implementation of ethical philosophy learning and the assessment pattern for student learning outcomes at the KH. Ahmad Sanusi Sukabumi Institute (INKHAS). Ethical philosophy is understood as a critical study of good and bad values in human actions, which not only accepts moral teachings normatively, but examines them rationally and in depth. In the learning process, this course applies discussion and dialogue methods as the main approach to encourage students to think critically, express opinions argumentatively, and build mutual respect. The lecturer acts as a facilitator who directs the discussion, instills academic ethics, and maintains a scientific learning flow. The assessment pattern does not focus on memorizing theories, but rather on students' analytical abilities as measured through discussion participation, individual assignments, and group assignments. The results of the study indicate that this method is effective in developing students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and moral awareness, although obstacles such as lack of motivation in some students due to the abstract nature of the material are still found. Overall, ethical philosophy learning at INKHAS plays an important role in shaping ethical character, reflective thinking, and responsible attitudes in academic and social life.

The untimely formation of government regulations on the delegation of laws is still a serious problem in the practice of forming laws and regulations in Indonesia. It was recorded that from 2021 to 2023 there were 16 government regulations that were formed late, which shows that there are problems in the follow-up mechanism for legislation delegations. The author analyzes whether the government has a legal obligation in the timeliness of the formation of government regulations as implementing rules. In addition, this study also examines the juridical and practical implications of the law if a delegated government regulation is formed late. The data used are quantitative and supported by doctrinal research methods through the analysis of laws and regulations, expert opinions, and related legal literature. The results of the study show that the government has a legal obligation to form government regulations in a timely manner. The delay in the formation of government regulations has an impact on disrupting the effectiveness of the implementation of the law and causes some provisions to not be implemented optimally because the implementing instruments are not yet available according to the specified deadline. In addition, these delays have the potential to cause legal uncertainty for the public, law enforcement officials, and policy implementing agencies. The vacuum of implementing rules can also trigger differences in interpretation, hinder policy implementation, and increase the risk of legal disputes. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of stricter monitoring and evaluation mechanisms against the deadline for the formation of government regulations to ensure legal certainty and regulatory effectiveness.

This research highlights the important role of the Naqsabandiyah Shafaiyah Tarekat in shaping the character of the worshippers at the Ahlus Shafa Wal Wafa Islamic Boarding School. This order centers on the purification of the soul (tazkiyatun nafs), spiritual discipline, and the strengthening of relationships with Allah and fellow humans. The process of character development is carried out continuously through various routine activities, such as dhikr, wirid reading, recitation, and direct guidance from a mursyid. These activities aim to create a deep religious atmosphere to encourage changes in attitudes and behaviors of worshippers. The results showed that after following the tarekat, the pilgrims experienced a significant increase in spiritual, emotional, and social aspects. They become calmer, more patient, and wiser in dealing with life's problems. In addition, the awareness to live simply and stay away from despicable traits such as arrogance and envy is growing along with the routine of dhikr and self-introspection. In the social context, this tarekat also succeeded in fostering an attitude of care, the spirit of mutual cooperation, and responsibility for the surrounding environment. Thus, the Naqsyabandiyah Shafaiyah Tarekat not only functions as a means to get closer to Allah, but also becomes an effective instrument in shaping the character of the congregation who has noble character and is ready to make a positive contribution to the wider community.

Rapid developments related to technology are spreading rapidly in human life. The rapid development of this technology definitely brings positive and negative currents in its application. The higher the development, the greater the opportunity for negative impacts for irresponsible people. The utilization of technological developments in the financial sector is considered to greatly facilitate a person in carrying out economic activities. Armed with just one application, someone can make banking transfers, investments and their utilization in other economic activities. However, along with the ease and effectiveness of digital finance, there are also digital crimes that can harm many people in the banking world such as physing, malware, ransomware and so on. This type of research is a normative juridical research that focuses on laws and regulations to provide legal reformulation related to digital financial security finance to strengthen the defense of financial system protection in the digital sector which is very much needed in this increasingly sophisticated modern era.

This study aims to analyze the role of Gujarat, India, as a major hub in the dynamics of the Islamization of the Indonesian Archipelago (Nusantara) and its impact on the formation of a distinctive Southeast Asian Muslim identity. This research employs a library research method by examining various primary and secondary sources, including historical manuscripts, travel accounts, archaeological findings, and relevant scholarly books and journal articles. The findings indicate that the arrival and spread of Islam in the Nusantara around the thirteenth century were strongly influenced by Muslim traders from Gujarat, who functioned not only as economic agents but also as carriers of religious and cultural values. The process of Islamization occurred relatively peacefully through trade networks, intermarriage, Islamic education, and political alliances with local rulers. The dominance of Sufistic teachings, which were adaptive and accommodative to local cultural traditions, facilitated a process of cultural inculturation that enabled Islam to be accepted without significant social conflict. This interaction produced a moderate and syncretic form of Islam, reflected in religious practices, local traditions, and Islamic architectural forms across the region. The study concludes that the Islamization of the Nusantara was a continuous process of cultural dialogue that shaped a tolerant, contextual, and harmonious Muslim identity in Southeast Asia, distinguishing it from Middle Eastern Islamic traditions.

The rapid expansion of digital media use has intensified the practice of cyberbullying as a form of non-physical violence that seriously affects victims’ mental health, dignity, and human rights. In Indonesia, cyberbullying is not specifically regulated and still relies on general provisions in the Law on Electronic Information and Transactions (EIT Law), which often lead to multiple interpretations, overcriminalization, and potential restrictions on freedom of expression. This article aims to analyze the urgency of establishing a specific criminal offense for cyberbullying within the framework of human rights protection and the principle of proportionality in limiting freedom of expression in the digital sphere. This study employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches to regulations in several countries. The findings indicate that the absence of specific norms on cyberbullying creates legal uncertainty and weakens victim protection while also opening opportunities for the misuse of legal provisions against legitimate expression. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate clear, proportional, and victim-oriented criminal regulations, supported by fair and transparent law enforcement mechanisms that are consistent with human rights principles in the digital era.

The training on computer network cabling conducted in schools serves not only to enhance students’ technical competencies but also functions as a strategic medium for developing collaborative attitudes, technological independence, and religious social harmony. Based on the community service activities carried out at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Sorong, the training integrated LAN cabling practice, the introduction of network devices, and guided sessions through observation, socialization, practicum, and evaluation. Throughout these stages, students gained direct experience in crimping, attaching RJ-45 connectors, testing cables with LAN testers, and simulating network configurations, which collectively strengthened their technical mastery. From the perspective of the sociology of religion, the training created a shared learning environment where students of diverse religious backgrounds collaborated equally in completing collective technical tasks. Values such as mutual respect, cooperation across differences, and social solidarity were visibly demonstrated as students helped one another in solving cabling-related challenges. Evaluation results indicate that participants became more independent in completing technical tasks and more open in communicating and interacting with peers of different beliefs. These findings emphasize that technology training can serve as a constructive medium for fostering religious social harmony and character building through practical experiences and meaningful social interaction.

This study was conducted to understand how parenting styles significantly influence the process of shaping children’s behavior. The method used in this research was a qualitative approach, with data collection carried out through interviews and direct observation of participants aged 10–18 years who live in Cicendo District, Bandung. Based on the results conveyed by several participants, it can be seen that parenting styles play a very important role in children’s growth and development as well as in the formation of their emotional conditions. Parents who play a positive role such as giving more attention, communicating well, and providing full support tend to build positive responses and emotional stability in children. This helps shape a healthy personality and creates a comfortable home environment that makes children feel safe. In contrast, parents who display negative roles and parenting styles such as being harsh, lacking attention, and frequently engaging in conflict tend to make children feel pressured and lack self confidence due to unmet emotional support. As a result, children may limit their relationship with their parents, which leads to emotional instability. Overall, the discussion shows that the family is the primary foundation for children, as their growth and development are strongly influenced by how parents fulfill their roles in shaping children’s personalities, which ultimately impacts their lives in the future.

This study discusses the role of prayer in shaping character and daily ethics as one of the main pillars of Islamic teachings. Prayer is not merely a ritual act of worship but also serves as a means of spiritual and moral education and shapes the overall personality of Muslims. This study uses a literature review method by examining various sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles relevant to Google Scholar from 2020 to 2025, sourced from 20 Indonesian-language journals and 5 English-language journals. Based on this background, prayer plays an important role in instilling values of discipline, responsibility, sincerity, patience, and self-reflection, which contribute to the formation of an individual's character and integrity. In addition, prayer also serves as the foundation of social ethics by fostering honesty, justice, empathy, politeness, and solidarity in social interactions. There is also congregational prayer, which, when performed, can strengthen the values of togetherness, brotherhood, and social concern, which are the foundations of a harmonious social life. Research shows that consistent and solemn prayer practices can control desires, prevent immoral and evil deeds, and provide mental and spiritual balance for the practitioner. Thus, prayer is an important instrument in the moral and spiritual development of Muslims and is relevant in facing modern challenges such as stress and social ethical degradation.
