Fraud detection on payment transactions is an extremely imbalanced, high-stakes classification task in which deployment decisions depend not only on ranking quality but also on reliable probability estimates. We study credit card fraud detection on a standard real-transaction benchmark (284,807 transactions; 492 frauds) and target two deployment requirements: cost-sensitive thresholding under asymmetric error costs and reliability calibration so model outputs can be interpreted as stable risk scores. We benchmark logistic regression and XGBoost and propose a focal-proxy reweighting scheme for boosted trees via iterative weight updates inspired by focal loss. Probabilities are calibrated on validation using Platt scaling, temperature scaling, and isotonic-style monotone calibration; the best calibrator is selected by minimum validation Brier score. For decision-making, we choose the operating threshold that minimizes expected cost, Cost(t) = 10 · FN(t) + 1 · FP(t), on validation, then evaluate on a held-out test set. On the benchmark split (train 199,364; validation 42,721; test 42,722), the calibrated XGBoost baseline achieves AUROC 0.973, AUPRC 0.812, fraud-class F1 0.767, and expected cost 154 with very low calibration error (ECE = 1.1 × 10⁻⁴). Overall, calibration reduces ECE and improves or maintains the Brier score, while cost-aware thresholding makes the FN/FP trade-off explicit via decision curves.

Learning evaluation is an important element in the educational process because it allows us to determine the extent to which students have achieved their competencies and helps improve the quality of learning. Objective tests are considered relevant because they can measure students' thinking abilities efficiently and systematically. However, in PAI learning, there are challenges because what is assessed is not only knowledge, but also understanding, attitudes, and actions in religion. This study aims to analyze the application of objective test instruments in evaluating PAI learning at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis Bantul, including how teachers create questions, the difficulties they encounter, and the impact on students. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques, then content analysis is used to analyze the results. The findings indicate that teachers have applied HOTS-based questions in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. However, students still have difficulty understanding long narrative questions, and objective instruments are not appropriate for assessing affective aspects. In general, students respond positively, but their learning style tends to be instant, relying solely on question outlines. To achieve holistic educational goals in line with the Pancasila Student Profile, continuous innovation is needed in the development of objective testing instruments that are capable of comprehensively measuring cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

The development of digital technology has made social media an integral part of children's lives, including students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). This study aims to explore the impact of social media on the language patterns of class 5C students at MI Hasyim Asy'ari. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and participant observations of 14 students who regularly access social media. The findings show that platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are the main sources of new vocabulary acquisition, such as the terms "kepo", "narsis", and "anjir". These words reflect changes in students' language styles that are increasingly informal and often deviate from standard Indonesian language rules. Although social media can contribute to enriching vocabulary and increasing children's interest in communicating, negative impacts such as the dominance of slang, misuse of meaning, and reduced concern for the correct use of Indonesian are also very real. Therefore, the role of educators and parents in supervising and directing the use of social media is very important. The language learning curriculum in schools needs to be adjusted to the development of the digital era without abandoning appropriate linguistic values. With the right strategy, social media can be used as a useful language learning tool without reducing the essence of Indonesian as a national identity.

Mathematical problem-solving skills are essential for students to face academic challenges and real-life situations. However, the 2022 PISA results and preliminary observations at MTs Negeri 1 Kota Semarang indicated that these skills were still low, particularly in the topic of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). This study aimed to develop a flipbook-based teaching material integrated with differentiated learning by considering students’ learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic), and to examine its feasibility, readability, effectiveness, and students’ responses. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using Borg & Gall’s model with eighth-grade students of MTs Negeri 1 Kota Semarang as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and pretest-posttest. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively (expert and practitioner validation) and quantitatively (feasibility and readability tests, effectiveness tests using one-sample t-test, independent t-test, paired t-test, N-Gain, and individual mastery test using Actual Mastery Threshold/BTA). The findings showed that the flipbook was highly feasible (91.20%) and very readable (92.10%). The developed teaching module received very good validation (88.75%), while the test instrument demonstrated good to very good validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination power. The experimental class average score increased from 49.12 (pretest) to 67.35 (posttest), while the control class rose from 48.82 to 53.53. Statistical tests revealed significant differences (p < 0.001), with an N-Gain score of 0.73 (high category). In addition, individual mastery was achieved based on BTA, and classical mastery was met since more than 75% of students scored above the minimum criteria. Thus, the developed flipbook-based differentiated learning material was feasible, comprehensible, effective in improving mathematical problem-solving skills, and received very positive responses from students. Learning style theories have long been used to understand individual differences in learning processes. Models such as VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) and Multiple Intelligences offer frameworks for adapting instructional strategies to students’ preferences. However, these approaches have been criticized for their reductionism and limited empirical validity, often neglecting the holistic nature of human learning. In contrast, the Islamic concept of fitrah provides a more comprehensive perspective, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, moral, and emotional dimensions in an integrated manner. This conceptual article aims to analyze and integrate Western learning style theories with Islamic perspectives to develop a more holistic learning paradigm. Through an extensive literature review and theoretical analysis, the article proposes an integrative model that bridges empirical approaches with spiritual values. Theoretically, this integration enriches academic discourse by connecting two distinct knowledge traditions. Practically, it offers a framework for educators and institutions to design adaptive learning processes that address learner diversity while fostering spiritual and moral development.
