This study aims to analyze teachers’ pedagogical practices in addressing the variation and degradation of elementary school students’ character within the challenges of 21st-century education. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to obtain an in-depth understanding of classroom phenomena. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers from grades I to VI and classroom observations conducted naturally without informing students, ensuring authentic behavioral data. The study used 18 character values as indicators to examine students’ character development. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured using source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that each grade level demonstrates different patterns of character variation and degradation. Positive character traits such as independence, communication skills, and curiosity tend to develop progressively, while issues such as discipline, responsibility, perseverance, and reading interest show signs of decline. Teachers respond to these conditions through adaptive pedagogical practices, including habituation, role modeling, collaborative learning, and project-based activities. These findings indicate that effective pedagogical practices play a crucial role in shaping students’ character and must be aligned with students’ developmental stages. The study implies that adaptive, contextual, and value-oriented teaching strategies are essential to support character development and meet the demands of 21st-century education.

One of the most important factors influencing how well students learn is their motivation to learn. Teachers must actively manage students' psychological well-being, as low motivation to learn can lead to less-than-ideal learning outcomes. In addition to imparting knowledge, teachers can also act as motivators and facilitators, fostering an emotionally and psychologically supportive learning environment. Therefore, particularly in madrasah environments that prioritize spiritual values, teachers' psychological management techniques are crucial for enhancing students' motivation to learn. The purpose of this study was to examine various psychological management techniques used by madrasah instructors to enhance students' willingness to learn. A qualitative research approach with a literature review approach was used as the methodology. Information was gathered from various sources, including books, academic journals, and related documents on learning motivation and educational psychology management. The findings revealed a number of useful tactics that educators can employ, such as developing strong emotional bonds with students, fostering a relaxed and supportive learning environment, expressing gratitude and positive reinforcement, recognizing each student's unique needs and characteristics, and incorporating spiritual values into the educational process. As demonstrated by increased active engagement, learning interest, and learning outcomes, the implementation of these methods has been shown to enhance students' motivation to learn. Therefore, effective and meaningful learning is greatly influenced by the teacher's psychological management.

Learning motivation is very important for students’ academic success, especially at the senior high school level. At SMA Negeri 3 Tana Toraja, there are still problems that cause low student motivation. These problems include lack of interest in learning, low self-confidence, and the use of technology mostly for entertainment purposes. This study aims to identify ways to improve students’ learning motivation through technology-based group guidance services. The research uses a library study method by collecting and analyzing scientific sources such as books and previous research journals. The results show that learning motivation is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include self-efficacy, while external factors include the fulfillment of needs for autonomy, competence, and social relatedness. Technology-based group guidance services can be an effective alternative because they combine social interaction with digital media that are familiar to students. Through discussions, sharing experiences, and the use of digital platforms, students become more active, open, and motivated in learning. Guidance and counseling teachers play an important role as facilitators in creating a supportive group dynamic. They provide positive reinforcement and help students develop self-confidence. Healthy group dynamics encourage supportive interactions, which in turn enhance students’ intrinsic motivation. Therefore, the integration of group guidance services and technology can be an effective strategy to improve students’ learning motivation and support optimal learning outcomes.

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) or Kindergarten (TK) is an important level of education in building the foundations for children's overall development, covering aspects of religious and moral values, physical-motor skills, cognitive skills, language, social-emotional skills, and the arts. The development of PAUD/TK currently shows a positive trend, as seen in the increasing public awareness, number of institutions, and participation of children aged 4–6 years. However, challenges still arise, such as limited facilities and infrastructure, variations in educator competence, differences in access to services between regions, and the need for stimulation at home. Competition among early childhood education institutions is quite fierce, driving innovation in learning quality, teacher competence, facilities, and flagship programs. In this context, marketing management plays a strategic role in building the institution's image, conveying information about educational services, identifying community needs, and increasing the institution's competitiveness in an ethical and sustainable manner. TK Muslimat NU Pakembaran, as a religious-based PAUD institution, plays an important role in developing children's development and instilling Islamic values. Although the marketing strategy is still simple and predominantly based on a familial approach and word-of-mouth promotion, these efforts are effective in building community trust and loyalty. In the future, strengthening a more systematic marketing management can increase competitiveness, expand the reach of information, and support the sustainability of the institution in providing quality, religious, and character-building early childhood education services.

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced the formation of religious values among students at the elementary education level, including those in Islamic primary schools. Students are no longer limited to learning religious values from formal education and family environments, but are also exposed to diverse and sometimes conflicting values through digital media. This study aims to examine in depth how students negotiate religious values between the school environment and digital media exposure at MI Al Hasanah. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The participants consist of three students and one Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher selected purposively. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation and method triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that students possess a basic understanding of religious values through structured learning and habituation activities at school. However, the implementation of these values is not always consistent, especially outside the school environment. Students actively engage in a process of negotiating values when encountering digital content that differs from religious teachings, often balancing between personal interests and normative expectations. The study concludes that the formation of religious values is dynamic and influenced by both internal awareness and external digital exposure, highlighting the need for a more contextual and adaptive approach in Islamic education.

The importance of education as a foundation for developing an intelligent and qualified generation, with an emphasis on Islamic religious education as a tool for shaping students' character and morals. Islamic religious education, particularly in the study of faith and morals, emphasizes ethical values such as caring and honesty. With the challenges in education becoming increasingly complex, one example is that many educators are unable to utilize learning media in today's advanced technology. One proposed solution is the use of the digital platform Kahoot, which has been proven to attract student interest in learning faith and morals, overcoming the boredom often encountered with traditional methods, such as lectures. It is emphasized that schools need adequate facilities and strategies for using gadgets to enhance students' learning experiences. The quantitative method used in this study is a pre-experimental study. In this study, the researcher used the one-group pretest and posttest design model. Based on the research results, there was a pretest score with a mean of 93.46, a median of 95, and a mode of 95. The posttest score had a mean of 84.62, a median of 90, and a mode of 100. The sig. (2-tailed) table showed 0.002 with a research alpha of 5% or 0.005. It can be concluded that there is no effect because 0.002 < 0.005. Therefore, H1 is rejected. Therefore, there is no effect of using the Kahoot application on the subject of faith and morals on improving student learning outcomes at MAS Tarbiyah Islamiyah.

This study aims to examine the use of picture books as a visual literacy medium in teaching English at the elementary school level, particularly in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This research employed a qualitative descriptive literature review by analyzing relevant national and international journal articles published within the last five years. The findings indicate that the integration of visual and verbal elements in picture books contributes significantly to students’ language development, especially in vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, and meaning construction. From an affective perspective, the use of picture books enhances students’ motivation, learning interest, classroom participation, and reduces language learning anxiety. The effectiveness of visual media is theoretically supported by Dual Coding Theory, which explains that information processed through both verbal and visual channels strengthens memory retention and comprehension. However, several challenges remain, including the selection of appropriate picture books and teachers’ limited competence in visual literacy. Therefore, systematic instructional planning and professional development for teachers are essential to optimize the use of picture books in EFL classrooms at the elementary level.

Formal education systems are often trapped in rigid standardization that actually shackles students' creativity and personal uniqueness. This issue raises questions about the extent to which individual freedom is accommodated in modern curricula that tend to be pragmatic. Departing from this issue, this study aims to explore the relevance of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Romanticism which prioritizes affection and the general will in the context of education. Rousseau argued that the development of science and culture often acts as a chain that restrains humans, thus he proposed the concept of natural education that allows children's instincts to develop freely without damaging cultural intervention. Using qualitative methods based on literature review, this research identified a strong common ground between Rousseau's vision and Indonesia's Freedom to Learn policy. The study reveals that both share a common philosophical foundation: restoring educational sovereignty to institutions and students, allowing them to independently develop their potential, talents, and interests. Therefore, synchronizing Rousseau's ideas with Freedom to Learn serves as a crucial foundation for creating a higher-quality and more humane national education ecosystem.
