This study discusses the limitations faced by young people in facing the dilemma of standardization of labor recruitment, with a case study on the implementation of the Job Fair held by the Manpower Office (Disnaker) in Bekasi. In an era of an increasingly competitive labor market, the recruitment process tends to refer to certain formal standards that do not always reflect the real potential of young job seekers, especially those from lower-middle economic backgrounds. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field observations, in-depth interviews with job fair participants, and documentation of materials and selection mechanisms used by companies. The results of the study indicate that many young people experience obstacles in meeting administrative and technical standards, such as expertise certification, work experience, and foreign language-based communication skills, which are now dominant requirements in labor selection. The gap between the actual abilities of young people and the demands of the labor market indicates hidden social exclusion in the recruitment system. These findings also highlight the minimal role of the state in equipping young people with skills that are in accordance with industry needs. This study recommends that the government not only facilitate recruitment through job fairs, but also be active in building a vocational training system based on local needs and reformulating a selection mechanism that is more inclusive and fair for all levels of youth.

This study aims to analyze the performance of employees at the Dukuh Pakis District Office in Surabaya City in carrying out daily administrative tasks as well as socialization activities with the community. The performance measurement method used refers to the four dimensions of employee performance proposed by Mangkunegara (2004), namely quality of work, discipline in work, initiative, and responsibility. Through observation and interviews, it was found that several obstacles hindered the performance of employees, such as lack of discipline in working hours, mismatch between job descriptions and tasks performed, and low supervision and enforcement of sanctions for violations. Nevertheless, there were good initiatives from some employees and a fairly high level of awareness of their responsibilities. Based on these findings, it is recommended to make improvements in time management, increase supervision and enforcement of discipline, provide training to enhance initiative, and solidify job descriptions to optimize employee performance. It is hoped that with the implementation of these recommendations, the performance of employees at the Dukuh Pakis District Office in Surabaya City can be significantly improved.

The growth of fashion UMKM in Indonesia through digital marketplace platforms has made a major contribution to the national economy, especially in job creation and developing creative product exports. However, this development also presents new challenges in the field of taxation, especially after the enactment of Law No. 7 of 2021 concerning the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (UU HPP). This study aims to analyze the principle of tax fairness for fashion UMKM operating through marketplaces, reviewed from a normative legal approach. The appointment of the market as a VAT collector and the continued implementation of Final Income Tax raises the potential for a double burden and inconsistency with the principles of vertical and horizontal justice in taxation. The results of the study show that the regulations in the Law on HPP do not fully reflect justice, legal certainty, and legal benefits, and risk pushing UMKM towards informality. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust technical policies that are more proportional to the capacity of UMKM actors, in order to realize an inclusive and equitable taxation system.

This study aims to examine the influence of cross-cultural leadership style and reward provision on employee job satisfaction, with workload serving as an intervening variable. The research was conducted at PT X, a multinational company managed by foreign leaders who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. As organizations become increasingly global, understanding how leadership and reward systems function in multicultural environments is essential to improving workforce performance and satisfaction. This research applies a quantitative approach using survey methods, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 105 employees across various departments. The analysis was carried out using structural equation modeling (SEM) to explore both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings show that cross-cultural leadership style has a significant positive impact on workload, suggesting that cultural differences in leadership influence how employees perceive and handle their tasks. Furthermore, reward provision shows a strong and direct influence on job satisfaction, highlighting the importance of fair compensation and recognition in motivating employees.Importantly, the study also finds that workload partially mediates the relationship between leadership style and job satisfaction. This indicates that leadership practices affect job satisfaction not only directly but also through the perceived amount and nature of the work assigned. These results underscore the necessity for companies, particularly those with a multicultural workforce, to adopt inclusive leadership models and implement transparent, performance-based reward systems. By doing so, organizations can create a more supportive work environment, improve employee morale, and ultimately enhance overall productivity and satisfaction.

"Insider" practices and "privileges" are often overlooked in human resource management (HRM) discourse, despite their significant impact on organizational justice, employee motivation, and overall performance. This article explores how informal connections and preferential treatment undermine meritocratic systems, distort perceptions of fairness, and reduce job satisfaction and employee commitment. Using a qualitative case study approach, the findings reveal that perceptions of injustice caused by informal practices—such as promotions based on personal ties, biased performance evaluations, and exclusive access to opportunities—can significantly weaken both intrinsic and extrinsic employee motivation. The study highlights the urgency of implementing transparent, accountable, and performance-based reward systems as strategic efforts to foster a fair and healthy organizational culture. Practically, organizations must develop HRM policies that are not only procedurally fair but also perceived as equitable to sustain long-term employee productivity and retention.

This study examines justice in employment law from the perspective of legal philosophy, focusing on the relationship between employers and workers in Indonesia. Based on Article 27 paragraph (2) and Article 28D paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution, justice in employment relations is considered as one of the manifestations of human rights that must be guaranteed by the state. However, in practice, the imbalance in the bargaining position between employers and workers often creates injustice, especially in wages, job protection, and the fulfillment of basic workers' rights. Through a legal philosophy approach, this study analyzes the application of the concepts of distributive, commutative, and retributive justice in employment relations. The results of the study show that although employment regulations, such as Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Employment, have attempted to create justice, their implementation still faces various obstacles, including weak supervision and bias towards economic interests. This study has theoretical benefits in deepening the study of legal philosophy related to justice in industrial relations, as well as practical benefits in providing recommendations for policy makers to improve employment regulations. Thus, this research is expected to be a foundation for creating fairer and more balanced working relationships in Indonesia.
