The rapid growth of Indonesia’s banking industry has encouraged various corporate actions, such as mergers, to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. However, post-merger system integration often creates issues for customers, particularly the increase in credit collectability caused by data migration errors. This study aims to analyze the legal protection and liability of banks toward customers adversely affected by the merger process. The research employs a normative juridical approach through legislation review and case study analysis. The findings indicate that customer legal protection operates both preventively and repressively. Preventive protection is regulated under the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No. 6/POJK.07/2022, emphasizing transparency, education, and data security principles. Meanwhile, repressive protection is carried out through internal bank complaint mechanisms, the Financial Services Alternative Dispute Resolution Institution (LAPS SJK), and civil lawsuits under Articles 1365 and 1243 of the Indonesian Civil Code. The study concludes that banks are legally responsible for restoring customers’ rights by correcting SLIK data, issuing clarification letters, and providing material and immaterial compensation. Upholding prudential principles and consumer protection is essential to maintaining public trust in the post-merger banking system.

This study aims to explain the Rohingya diaspora and the challenges of cultural adaptation in host countries. This study uses a library research method where data collection in this study uses various materials and materials available in libraries such as books, scientific articles/journals, and documents that are relevant to the research topic. The results of the study show that the state of Myanmar through the Burma Citizenship Law 1982 policy has designated only 135 ethnicities recognized as its citizens and the Rohingya ethnic group is not included in it. As a result, they legally lose their citizenship status (stateless), rights to land, education, employment, and a decent life. Lacking legal legitimacy makes the Rohingya ethnic group trapped in a cycle of discrimination and poverty. Therefore, in search of a decent life, the Rohingya ethnic group migrates to seek new asylum to neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Thailand, and Indonesia in the hope of getting a decent living. In refugee camps, a process of cultural acculturation occurs where as a group of immigrants (the Rohingya ethnic group) must get used to accepting and adapting to the new environment, culture, and lifestyle without forgetting their identity as the Rohingya ethnic group.

This study aims to analyze the quality of granulated sugar products at PT Madukismo Yogyakarta using the Six Sigma methodology through the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). The main problems identified involve high variations in product quality and significant defects, particularly related to moisture content (less dry) and off-color products. Production and defect data from May 2023 to September 2024 were used to calculate DPMO and sigma levels as indicators of process performance. The results show that the sigma level ranges from 4.48 to 5.03, with the highest DPMO recorded at 1,456.76 and the lowest at 205.55, indicating that the process has not yet achieved Six Sigma performance. Pareto analysis reveals that color defects (58.4%) contribute the most to overall defects. The Fishbone diagram analysis indicates that defect causes originate from factors related to manpower, method, material, machine, measurement, and environment. Improvement recommendations include digitalizing monitoring systems, enhancing SOPs, upgrading operator competencies, modernizing machinery, improving raw material management, and strengthening environmental control systems. These improvements are expected to reduce DPMO to below 500 and increase the sigma level to at least 5.2. This study concludes that the Six Sigma approach is effective in identifying quality issues and formulating strategies to improve the quality of granulated sugar products at PT Madukismo.

Jamu is a traditional medicine still widely consumed by the public, but it has the potential to be contaminated with the heavy metals lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd), which are toxic and can cause health problems, particularly to the liver and kidneys. Heavy metal contamination can originate from raw materials grown in polluted environments and from processing, storage, and packaging that do not meet quality standards, particularly for products that have not undergone official supervision. This study aims to analyze the content of lead and cadmium metals in registered and unregistered herbal medicine products. The analysis was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method after sample preparation through wet digestion using strong acid. Six herbal medicine dosage forms were analyzed, namely powder, chopped, pills, capsules, cream, and shake parem. Method validation included tests for linearity, precision, limit of detection, and limit of quantification to ensure the reliability of the analysis results. The results showed that all registered herbal medicine samples met the safety requirements for Pb and Cd. In contrast, several unregistered herbal medicine preparations, especially powder, chopped, and cream, did not meet the safety requirements for Cd, while the Pb levels in all samples met the safety requirements for Pb. These findings indicate that unregistered herbal medicines carry a higher risk of heavy metal contamination. Therefore, strengthening quality control, selecting safe raw materials, and increasing compliance with regulations are necessary to ensure the safety of herbal medicine consumption and protect public health.

The growing number of alleged medical malpractice cases in Indonesia, particularly physicians’ misdiagnosis resulting in patient death, underscores the need for stronger legal certainty and accountability in healthcare services. Physicians are professionally obligated to conduct diagnosis and medical treatment in accordance with professional standards, service standards, and standard operating procedures; however, negligence may occur and lead to severe harm. This study aims to analyze the legal provisions governing physicians’ liability for misdiagnosis causing patient death and to examine the forms of legal responsibility that may be imposed. The research applies a normative juridical method using a case approach and literature review, relying on primary legal materials such as the Indonesian Civil Code, the Criminal Code, the Medical Practice Law, the Hospital Law, and Law Number 17 of 2023 on Health, supported by secondary and tertiary sources. The findings indicate that physicians may be held liable under civil, criminal, and administrative law if the essential elements of medical negligence are proven, namely duty of care, breach of duty, harm (including death), and a causal relationship between the misdiagnosis and the fatal outcome. Moreover, liability may extend to hospitals under the doctrines of vicarious liability, hospital liability, and strict liability. This study implies the importance of strengthening professional competence, reinforcing disciplinary mechanisms, and ensuring balanced legal protection for both patients and healthcare professionals within Indonesia’s health law framework.

Umbilical cord infection remains one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality among newborns, particularly in areas where knowledge and health practices are still limited. Padellegan Village is one of the regions where some mothers continue to practice traditional cord care methods, such as using herbal mixtures or non-sterile materials, which increases the risk of omphalitis. Initial situation analysis indicates that 40–60% of postpartum mothers are not yet familiar with the principles of clean and dry cord care (dry cord care), and access to accurate health information is still limited. Based on this condition, education on umbilical cord care is essential to improve mothers’ and health cadres’ understanding and skills in preventing neonatal infections. This community service activity focuses on providing evidence-based education regarding safe cord care techniques, infection risk factors, and danger signs that need to be recognized. Padellegan Village was selected due to the high need for maternal–neonatal health education and the low level of community knowledge related to cord care. This activity is expected to bring positive changes, such as improved maternal behavior in performing proper cord care, reduced use of unhygienic traditional methods, and strengthened roles of health cadres in monitoring neonatal health. Enhancing appropriate cord care practices can reduce the risk of infection in newborns, thereby contributing to improving the overall health status of the community in Padellegan Village.

This study explores how Eric Carle’s children’s storybook The Very Hungry Caterpillar creates depth in its narrative through visual components and tactile elements despite its limited text. Using a multimodal analysis approach, this study highlights the texture of the collage, the use of symbolic colors, and the die-cut holes as elements that can be felt. The results of this study show that the physical design of this book is not merely decorative, but functions as a key narrative guide that helps children understand the concepts of growth and change independently. The die-cut holes have a specific role as a physical symbol of hunger, allowing young readers to interact directly with the story. The combination of the book’s materials and visual storytelling has proven to transcend language barriers, making it an effective literacy tool for beginner readers. This research confirms that visual storytelling intertwined with the physical form of a book can convey complex philosophical themes more effectively than narratives composed solely of dense text. The success of this book confirms that tactile and visual elements are important literary tools in the world of children’s literature.

The Soxhlet extraction method uses repeated heating and solvent circulation to separate substances from mixtures, producing more extract faster than maceration with less solvent. However, this method requires pure solvents and is not suitable for thermolabile compounds as they can be degraded by heat. Soxhlet extraction is more effective for limited quantities of dry and fine herbal materials. This method is widely used to extract phytochemical compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and curcumin, and has potential in cosmetic raw materials, herbal medicines, and antioxidant products. Although it uses more energy, this technique is efficient and continuous. Modern innovations such as combining it with Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (UAE) or environmentally friendly microextraction are expected to increase extraction efficiency while reducing the use of organic solvents. Modifications to Soxhlet, including automation and assistive technologies such as high pressure, ultrasound, and microwaves, open up opportunities for commercialization and further research with more optimal results and more practical operations. The modified Soxhlet is considered a “panacea” in extraction due to the significant performance improvements achieved.

Criminal responsibility is constructed through the elements of homicide offences, the assessment of mens rea, accomplice liability, and sentencing rationality grounded in individual culpability. In judicial practice, however, cases involving the killing of women are frequently framed at the outset through the labels of “honour” or “intimate relationship,” leading honour killing and intimate partner femicide to be treated as interchangeable categories. This practice shifts the assessment of intent toward the perpetrator’s narrated motive and narrows accountability to the last physical actor. This research aims to formulate, first, legal criteria and evidentiary indicators for distinguishing the two categories through a staged judicial classification test, and second, to assess the implications of such classification for the construction of intent, the attribution of responsibility to non-executing actors, and sentencing rationality through disciplined reason-giving. The study employs a normative legal method with a conceptual approach, based on library research of primary and secondary legal materials. The findings demonstrate that the core deficiency lies in the absence of an operational classification device, allowing honour narratives to displace structured mens rea analysis and to obscure the causal contributions of non-executors. The article proposes working definitions and a stepwise indicator-based test—focusing on the presence of determinative social pressure or sanctioning, provable role allocation within perpetrator networks, and prior threats framed in terms of honour restoration—and links these indicators to concrete doctrinal consequences for intent, accomplice liability, and sentencing. Through this framework, judicial reasoning is redirected from label-driven interpretation toward accountability, while restraining the use of honour as a mitigating rationale and preventing femicide patterns from being concealed by reputational narratives.
