This study aims to explore the synergy between the teaching of Islamic creed and ethics (akidah akhlak) and the madrasa environment in shaping students’ honesty at MTsN 5 Bantul. The background of this research lies in the importance of honesty as a fundamental value in Islamic education, which is not only transmitted through classroom instruction but also cultivated through the school’s culture. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with Islamic creed and ethics teachers, the principal, and eighth-grade students, as well as documentation of school programs. The findings reveal that the teaching of akidah akhlak serves as a normative foundation in instilling honesty values through lessons on shidiq, prophetic stories, real-life case discussions, and student reflections. The madrasa environment functions as a medium for habituating honesty through a religious culture, discipline, teacher role models, and everyday social interactions. In addition, character development programs such as Qur’anic recitation, morning prayers, and the Smile, Greeting, and Salutation (3S) movement further reinforce the internalization of honesty in a sustainable manner. The synergy between classroom learning, the school environment, and structured programs proves to be the key to successfully cultivating honesty, as students gain not only cognitive understanding but also affective experiences and practical application in daily school life. This study concludes that honesty-based character education must be carried out holistically by integrating akidah akhlak instruction with the madrasa culture. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for other madrasas in developing effective strategies for character education. Future research is recommended to conduct comparative studies across different madrasas or to explore other moral values such as trustworthiness, responsibility, and justice to provide a more comprehensive understanding of character education in Islamic contexts.

This writing is intended for equality between women and men so that there are no differences in education. Through the hadith texts of the Prophet and History from pre-prophecy, it cannot be denied that women are second class in life so that many people exclude women compared to men, contrary to what was taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW who was sent to the face of the earth. This is one way of elevating a woman's status or perfecting her morals to this day, but currently many people in the community think that women's education is not important because women will return to home affairs serving their husbands and educating their children. In contrast to the current life where women can become leaders and can hold positions that men usually hold, such as in government and pubic society. In writing this, the author hopes to change society's mindset to change and improve thinking that does not provide access to women so that women can develop themselves so that they can become useful women in society, especially in their households, in this case not a few women complain. to be able to study and be educated as a man who values education in high regard. This study discusses child adoption in the context of Christian theology, focusing on the opinions of the congregation of HKBP Kana Resort Kana Duri. Child adoption is an effort to provide affection and protection to children who do not have biological parents or who have been abandoned, in accordance with the values of love and acceptance taught in the Bible. In the Christian view, adoption is not only seen as a social solution, but also has a deep theological dimension, reflecting the relationship between God and His people as Father and His children. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the congregation's views on child adoption and the challenges they face in implementing this practice. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies, which were then analyzed to understand the theological meaning of child adoption and the congregation's opinions on adoption. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problems that exist are in the personal and social readiness of the congregation, lack of education, and the absence of special assistance from the church as an institution of faith that should be a protector and director in making ethical and moral decisions for its congregation.

he fatherless phenomenon in Bandung City affects family communication patterns and influences how adult women determine partner criteria. This study aims to examine the conversation and conformity orientations in the family communication of fatherless adult women when choosing a life partner. The research employed a qualitative case study approach using purposive sampling, involving four key informants and eight supporting informants. The findings indicate that conversation orientation is more focused on the mother, but is limited by feelings of awkwardness and inequality in speaking positions, reducing openness in discussing life values. The conformity orientation, centered on the mother as the dominant figure, does not always reach the child due to emotional differences and the indirect delivery of expectations, which create emotional distance and tension. The mother assumes a dual role as the source of values, moral guidance, and understanding of family life; however, communication tends to be one-sided and less balanced. The study recommends that individuals who have experienced the loss of a father figure develop self-awareness regarding the influence of past experiences in partner selection, understand the relationship values they believe in, and foster healthy communication to build more stable and meaningful relationships. In addition, the study highlights the importance of creating safe spaces for dialogue within the family, so that openness and equality in communication can emerge. Strengthening social support systems, including peer and community support, can also complement family communication, thereby helping fatherless adult women establish healthier relationship choices in the future.

The phenomenon of poor emotional management among students, such as irritability, low empathy, and lack of cooperation skills, poses a challenge in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This study aims to examine the dimensions of students’ emotional intelligence in the context of PAI learning based on the theories of Daniel Goleman and Salovey-Mayer. Using a literature review approach and qualitative content analysis, this research explores various theories, empirical research findings, and expert opinions derived from relevant journals, books, and scholarly works. The results indicate that emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in the success of PAI learning, particularly in shaping students’ character, Islamic morals, and social skills. Goleman’s theory, which emphasizes five main dimensions self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills can be integrated with the Salovey-Mayer model, which outlines the abilities of perceiving, understanding, and managing emotions cognitively. These dimensions can be synergistically implemented in the PAI learning process to achieve holistic Islamic education goals. In this context, PAI learning is not only oriented toward the transfer of religious knowledge but also toward the formation of an Islamic personality through the integration of emotional management with Islamic values. Teachers, as uswah hasanah (exemplary role models), play a vital role in demonstrating emotional management aligned with Islamic teachings, guiding students through the habituation of Islamic behavior, and providing direction that encourages discipline in worship. A comprehensive understanding of Islam, combined with emotional management skills, shapes students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also emotionally and spiritually mature.

This study aims to analyze the representation of national values and friendship in the film Sekawan Limo using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. The film was selected because it combines horror elements with strong local cultural nuances, making it interesting to examine from the perspectives of visual communication, culture, and social values. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with primary data drawn from scenes, dialogues, visual symbols, and narratives within the film. The analysis was conducted through Barthes’ three levels of semiotics: denotation, connotation, and myth. At the denotative level, the film presents visual and verbal signs depicting character interactions and the cultural background of society. At the connotative level, these signs convey deeper meanings related to national values, such as respect for local culture, the importance of unity, and love for the homeland. Meanwhile, friendship values are reflected through solidarity, empathy, mutual support, and sacrifice among the main characters as they face conflicts together. At the myth level, the film illustrates how popular culture can serve as a medium for delivering moral and ideological messages, particularly the importance of preserving national identity while fostering strong bonds of friendship. The findings highlight that local films function not only as entertainment but also as an effective communication medium to convey national and social values to a broader audience. Thus, Sekawan Limo demonstrates that film plays a strategic role in strengthening cultural awareness while instilling moral values.

This article explores the symbolic meanings embedded in nonverbal communication present during the series of traditional Javanese wedding ceremonies from the Pakem Surakarta tradition. The purpose of this study is to identify and interpret the cultural symbols hidden in each phase of the ritual, such as the exchange of kembar mayang, stepping on eggs, sindur binayang, kacar-kucur, dhahar klimah, and sungkeman. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic communication framework. Data was collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders or wedding officiants, as well as cultural figures from the villages of Cendono and Bakalan in Pasuruan Regency. The findings of the study emphasize that the nonverbal symbols present in the ceremony carry meanings related to values of responsibility, role equality, purity, blessings, and affection, which are directed not only toward the bride and groom but also to the extended families and the surrounding community. Therefore, Javanese traditional marriage is not merely a ritual event, but also a means of preserving cultural teachings and spiritual values across generations. The ceremony reflects a strong bond between individuals, families, and the community, fostering social and spiritual harmony. Furthermore, this ceremony serves as a medium for strengthening intergenerational relationships within society, with the aim of preserving traditions and moral values in social life. Thus, a traditional Javanese wedding not only symbolizes the union of two individuals but also acts as a medium for maintaining and spreading cultural and spiritual values within the community.

This study aims to explore the ways in which Islamic Religious Education (PAI) influences the moral growth of Tamanayu 01 Elementary School pupils. Given the difficulties presented by the digital age and shifting societal norms, moral development has become an essential part of basic education. This study combined a case study methodology with a qualitative technique. Observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with the administrator, parents, instructors, and children were used to collect the data. The findings demonstrated that Tamanayu 01 Elementary School's implementation of PAI was done in a comprehensive way by incorporating Islamic values into the curriculum, holding regular religious events like congregational prayer and sermons, and encouraging teacher cooperation to create a religious school culture. In addition to cognitive dimensions, learning also addressed pupils' emotive and psychomotor aspects. Significant supporting factors included the commitment of the principal and teachers, family and community support, and the availability of infrastructure. However, the process of moral formation also faced obstacles such as limited time for PAI learning, the negative influence of social media, the diversity of student backgrounds, and limited resources. According to the study's findings, PAI plays a strategic role in forming students' personalities through an all-encompassing, contextual, and cooperative approach. It is anticipated that other elementary schools will use these findings as a guide when creating character education programmes based on Islamic principles.

Young generations in the digital era face serious challenges in maintaining their Islamic identity due to the rapid flow of globalization, the penetration of popular culture, and the influence of social media, which often contradict Islamic values. This condition has led some adolescents and youth to experience moral degradation, a decline in interest toward religious studies, and a tendency to be more attracted to instant entertainment content. Conventional religious studies that are monotonous are often less appealing to Millennials and Gen Z, thus requiring innovative models of religious education that are relevant, engaging, and suitable for the characteristics of the digital generation. This Community Service Program (KKN) carried the theme “Strengthening Islamic Character of Young Generations through Interactive Multimedia-Based Studies at the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office of Central Lampung Regency.” The main objective was to improve the understanding, internalization, and practice of Islamic values through creative, participatory, and enjoyable approaches. The program was implemented over one month with eight face-to-face sessions. The methods included interactive lectures, motivational video screenings, Islamic animation, group discussions, digital quizzes, and the establishment of an online discussion group via WhatsApp to maintain continuity of learning. Evaluation was carried out through field observation, pre-test and post-test, as well as in-depth interviews with participants and partners. The results showed an increase in religious understanding from an average of 58% to 82%, with active participation reaching 87%. Moreover, a youth community named Forum Pemuda Islami Lampung Tengah (FOPILTENG) was established, which is committed to continuing monthly studies independently. Technical obstacles such as limited multimedia facilities were successfully overcome by facilitators’ creativity, including utilizing simple devices and free digital platforms. Overall, the interactive multimedia-based approach proved to be effective in enhancing learning motivation, strengthening Islamic character, and fostering togetherness among youth. This model has the potential to be replicated in other regions as a strategic effort to nurture a religious, well-characterized, and competitive young generation in facing global challenges.

Animated films are not only a medium of entertainment but also an effective tool for delivering moral, social, and educational values through innovative storytelling and engaging visual styles. In Indonesia, although many animated films are broadcast on national television, only a limited number originate from domestic creators. This condition highlights the need to strengthen local creative content that reflects Indonesia’s cultural and environmental identity. The present design project aims to develop an alternative television program in the form of a 2D animated film that emphasizes the preservation of Mentilin, an endemic animal of Bangka Island, while simultaneously serving as an educational medium for the local community. The research and design process employed a qualitative approach, focusing on data collection through observation, interviews, and literature review to identify effective strategies for socialization and education. The animation production of Mentilin, The Tiny Tarsier was carried out in three main stages: pre-production, including concept development and storyboarding; production, involving character design, background creation, and animation; and post-production, which covered editing, sound design, and final rendering. The preliminary evaluation indicated that the animation successfully captured local cultural elements and delivered messages about environmental awareness in an engaging manner. This design is expected not only to provide a creative educational platform for the community but also to contribute to the broader efforts of environmental preservation and the development of Indonesia’s animation industry. Furthermore, the program has the potential to be expanded as a replicable model for other regions in promoting endemic species conservation through creative media.

The employee recruitment system is a crucial aspect in maintaining the quality of human resources in healthcare institutions, particularly hospitals based on Islamic values. Muhammadiyah Ponorogo General Hospital, as a hospital based on Muhammadiyah principles, faces the challenge of ensuring that every employee is not only technically competent but also aligned with Islamic values and culture. This study aims to describe the employee recruitment process, identify the challenges faced, and explore best practices implemented at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo General Hospital. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews with Human Resources Development (HRD) and relevant stakeholders, direct observation of the selection process, and internal document review. Data were analyzed thematically to discover patterns and deeper meanings within the recruitment process. The results show that recruitment is carried out through the stages of identifying workforce needs, administrative selection, written tests, in-depth interviews to assess technical competency and Islamic value alignment, and medical examinations. The main challenge is the limited number of candidates who meet the dual criteria of having both professional expertise and moral integrity in line with Muhammadiyah values. Furthermore, maintaining transparency and objectivity in the selection process is also a crucial concern. The findings of this study indicate that the success of the recruitment system at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo General Hospital (RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo) depends heavily on good coordination between HRD and management, as well as the need to strengthen the value-based selection process. This way, the hospital can produce a workforce that is not only professional but also capable of supporting the institution's vision and mission of providing superior and Islamic healthcare services.

Christian Religious Education (PAK) plays a crucial role in building religious tolerance in a diverse society. PAK does not only focus on Christian teachings, but also seeks to shape students' morals, attitudes, and spirituality through an approach that is relevant to various age levels. Thus, this education provides a solid foundation for understanding universal human values. PAK emphasizes the importance of tolerance in a pluralistic society, respects religious diversity, and accepts differences as part of a complex social structure. In this context, PAK teaches students to see differences as a source of strength and cultural richness, not as a barrier. This education also encourages the development of empathy and concern for others, which are very important in building intergroup relationships.Furthermore, PAK actively seeks to expand understanding of the values of commonality between religions through dialogue and seminars. These activities involve not only students but also parents and local communities and create constructive discussion forums. Using social media as a means to spread messages of taboos and respond quickly to religious issues is also an effective strategy given its broad impact. PAK also contributes to poverty alleviation and community empowerment, regardless of religion, with programs that focus on improving basic needs and quality of life.A commitment to justice and human rights is the foundation of all initiatives, and all stakeholders are asked to play an active role in creating positive change. Therefore, PAK aims to build a peaceful, harmonious, and inclusive society that values differences and avoids conflict. Through continuing education and open dialogue, our goal is to equip future generations with an attitude of mutual respect and harmonious coexistence with diversity.
