In the modern era, law enforcement faces increasingly complex challenges driven by socio-economic inequality, rapid urbanization, advancements in information technology, and shifting societal values. One significant consequence is the rise in violent crimes committed collectively (mobbing), which remains concerning issue in Indonesia, including Bantul, DIY. This research adopts a legal and empirical approach, examining causal factors and challenges faced by the Bantul Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit in handling mob violence cases. These acts are regulated under Article 170 of the KUHP, characterized by their open (openlijk) and collective (met vereenigde krachten) nature. Factors influencing mob violence include environmental conditions, personal revenge, the influence of social media, and educational background. Obstacles in the investigation include difficulties in identifying perpetrators, collecting sufficient evidence, and addressing the psychological state of both victims and witnesses. Statistical data highlights this ongoing issue: in 2022, there were 84 reported cases with 64 resolved; in 2023, 58 cases were reported with 42 resolved; in 2024, 53 cases were recorded with 41 resolved. From January to May 2025 alone, 21 reports were filed, with only 15 resolved. Although the number of reports has declined, the persistence of these cases demands more serious and coordinated responses from all stakeholders.

This research is based on the reality of tourist destinations that are the target of the study, where the role of MSMEs in both areas reflects a significant role in strengthening tourist attractions in destinations for visitors. Cheng Hoo Mosque Pasuruan and Jati Sewu Gresik have become new growing spaces for MSMEs that not only sell food, drinks, or tourist services, but also convey the distinctive values of the destination to visitors through direct interaction and the products sold. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach. The data collected was obtained from participatory observations in the field directly with MSME actors, and supported by secondary data obtained from various online sources such as news articles, tourism websites, and official information from the two related destinations. The results show that MSMEs in these two tourist destinations not only play a role in enriching the variety of attractions offered to tourists, but also play an important role in supporting the economy of the surrounding community. Trade activities carried out by MSME players around the tourist area directly create new economic opportunities while increasing community participation in tourism dynamics. Southeast Asia has long held a strategic position in global maritime trade since the pre-Islamic era. Through interactions with Arab, Persian, and Indian merchants, Islam was introduced to the region not through military conquest, but via peaceful and cultural means, particularly through trade and Sufi missionary activities. The Islamization process unfolded gradually, beginning in major port cities such as Samudera Pasai, Malacca, and Gresik, with significant support from local elites. This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach using library research methods, drawing from historical records, Malay Islamic manuscripts, and recent academic studies. The findings reveal that Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia manifested in the form of Islamic sultanates, traditional Islamic educational institutions (pesantren and pondok), and rich cultural expressions such as arts, literature, and architecture shaped by local aesthetics. This acculturation process gave rise to a moderate, inclusive, and adaptive form of Islam. In the modern era, Islam in this region continues to evolve in response to global challenges through institutional innovation and the contextualization of Islamic values. Therefore, Islam in Southeast Asia is not merely a religious system, but a civilizational force that shapes a distinctive and sustainable regional identity.

The entry of Islam into the archipelago is a historical process that takes place peacefully and culturally. The role of scholars is the main key in disseminating Islamic teachings through trade, educational, and socio-cultural approaches. Not only preaching, the scholars also mingle with the local community through marriage and the establishment of educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools. A persuasive and accommodating da'wah strategy for local culture is the main factor in the success of Islamization in various regions. In addition to religious aspects, Islam also has influence in the field of politics and government, both in the application of sharia values, morals, and the formation of Islamic political organizations. Through the study of literature and historical sources, this study shows that the process of spreading Islam in the archipelago is not forceful, but through the harmonious integration of values and culture.

This research aims to explore the visual potential of the goldfish as a source of inspiration in the creation of hand-drawn batik works by incorporating traditional Mandailing ornaments. The goldfish was selected due to its strong symbolic meaning in local culture, representing luck, prosperity, and happiness. Meanwhile, Mandailing ornaments rich in philosophical and aesthetic cultural values serve as supporting elements that strengthen the visual identity of the work. The creative method used in this study follows the approach proposed by Husen Hendriyana, consisting of four stages: preparation, imagination (exploration), development of imagination (design), and realization (execution). The creative process involves illustrating the form of the goldfish combined harmoniously with distinctive Mandailing motifs such as bona bolu, bindu pusuk ni robung, burangir/aropik, sipatomu-tomu, bintang na toras, rudang, raga-raga, sancang duri, jagar-jagar, bondul na opat, tagan, bintang dohot tolu lingkaran, timbangan, podang, gancip, takar, pinggan, mataniari, horis, loding/upak, bintang, alaman bolak, parbincar mataniari, gimbang, lotus flower, and gumbot. The outcome of this research consists of 12 hand-drawn batik artworks applied as wall decorations using a contemporary approach. These works function both aesthetically and educationally, as well as decoratively. The artworks are expected to contribute to the development of hand-drawn batik as a visual art form that adapts to modern times, while also promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Mandailing through a broader visual format.

This study evaluates the implementation of water source conservation and conservation forest policies in Tuban Regency that integrate collaborative methods between various parties and local wisdom. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with staff from the Environmental Service, representatives of environmental NGOs, traditional leaders, and local communities, coupled with field observations related to the “Adopt a Spring” and “Forest School” programs. The results of the study indicate that the success of the policy is not only supported by local regulations, but also by collaboration involving the government, local communities, the private sector, and educational institutions. Local wisdom, such as the “nyadran sumber” ceremony and traditional protected forest methods, increase the legitimacy and effectiveness of environmental protection. However, obstacles arise as a result of lack of funds, economic pressures, and changes in values among the younger generation. This study suggests sustainability education and cross-sector collaboration forums, strengthening sustainable economic schemes based on ecotourism and agroforestry, and contextual environmental education to maintain the sustainability of the program. These results confirm that conservation policies integrated with local wisdom and cross-sector collaboration can be an innovative model for other regions, while strengthening the paradigm of sustainable development that is responsive to the existing socio-cultural context.

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced educational approaches, particularly in Islamic education for digital native generations. This study analyzes the concept of Islamic education in the digital era based on the book Tarbiyah fi Zaman al-Fitan by Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Yahya al-Haddadi and explores its influence on digital native generations. Using a qualitative approach with library research methodology, this study conducts an in-depth analysis of the primary source supplemented by relevant secondary literature including books, scientific journals, and previous research findings. The research integrates Digital Native theory, Social Cognitive theory, and Connectivism to understand the educational challenges faced by digital natives. The findings reveal four main pillars of Islamic education according to al-Haddadi: parental education, gradual education from early age (tarbiyah tadrijiyyah), creed education (aqidah), and social etiquette education (adab). These pillars effectively serve as protective measures against two main fitnah (trials) in the digital era: syahwat (lust) and syubhat (doctrinal confusion). The study demonstrates that classical Islamic educational concepts remain highly relevant for addressing contemporary digital challenges, providing internal firewall mechanisms, strengthening parental role modeling, and promoting adaptive collaborative learning. This research contributes to the development of Islamic educational frameworks that integrate classical spiritual values with modern digital literacy requirements.
