College students, as a group of young adults, often face life transitions that involve academic, emotional, social, and economic pressures. One of the effects of these pressures is smoking behavior. According to pre-survey data, most college students who are active smokers consume 5-10 cigarettes per day. These students admitted to having tried to quit smoking at least once, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and they returned to their old habits. This difficulty indicates challenges in self-control. Participants in this study were active smokers across Indonesia, with a minimum consumption of 5–10 cigarettes per day. This study is quantitative in nature, using a self-control scale and a nicotine dependence scale to determine the absence of self-control influence on nicotine addiction. Data analysis in this study was conducted using simple linear regression analysis, yielding a p-value of 0.070 (>0.05). Therefore, it was concluded that self-control does not significantly influence addiction in the study sample.

The purpose of this research is to examine the variables that affect stock prices in the commerce and service and consumer products industries that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.  This research study is quantitative in nature.  The information was taken from annual and financial reports that were posted on the websites of the individual companies as well as the Indonesia Stock Exchange's official website (www.idx.co.id).  The population consists of all 137 consumer products, commerce, and service businesses that were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2009 and 2013.  Seventy-seven businesses satisfied the sample requirements based on preset criteria.  Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the data.  The findings demonstrate that the three sets of variables—systematic risk, macroeconomic indicators, and firm fundamentals—all significantly and favorably affect stock prices at the same time.  Stock prices are positively and significantly impacted by the following factors, in part: Return on Equity (ROE), Earnings per Share (EPS), Book Value (BV), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and inflation.  In contrast, the market beta, GDP, exchange rate, and BI rate have no discernible effects, but the debt to equity ratio (DER) has a negative and substantial influence.  With an Adjusted R Square value of 62.4%, the study's independent variables may account for a significant portion of stock price fluctuations, with additional factors outside the model influencing the remaining 37.6%.

Discipline in education is necessary for students to understand moral and social boundaries. The practice of disciplining (corporal punishment) against students is still debatable. Some people consider it a form of violence against children that contradicts the principles of child protection in Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection. A dilemma arises regarding the limits of the teacher's authority in disciplining students and whether these actions can be categorized as criminal acts or are still included in the realm of education. Article 14 of Law No. 14/2005 on Teachers and Lecturers states that teachers have the right to impose sanctions on students who violate norms, rules, and academic ethics. This research is normative research. The results of this research are: (1) The provision of corporal punishment by teachers against students who violate religious norms, norms of decency, norms of politeness, written and unwritten rules set by teachers in the learning process cannot be categorized as acts against criminal law if the corporal punishment carried out by the teacher does not exceed the limits of reasonableness or punishment that is educational in nature in accordance with the teacher's code of ethics. (2) The application of mediation as a form of protection for teachers regulated in Article 4 paragraph 2 of Permendikbud Number 10 of 2017, where mediation is a form of implementation of restorative justice values creating a space for peaceful problem solving that considers the interests of students, teachers and students. The application of mediation as a form of protection for teachers regulated in Article 4 paragraph 2 of Permendikbud Number 10 of 2017, where mediation is a form of implementation of restorative justice values creating a space for peaceful problem solving that considers the interests of students, teachers, and the school community.

The global environmental crisis demands a comprehensive approach, including from a religious perspective. Islam as a religion that is very holistic contains teachings about nature conservation which are unraveled in the Qur'an. However, the study of contemporary mufasir's views on environmental issues is still very limited, especially in the context of the thought of Prof. Dr. M. Quraish Shihab. This article also aims to examine how in the view of quraish shihab about the importance of environmental preservation in life. on the principles of environmental management reflected in his interpretation, as well as his contribution in providing solutions to problems in the current environment. In addition, this article will discuss a comparison of the approach of the interpretation of the Qur'an Shihab with other contemporary scholars, such as for example in the Tafsir of Al Azhar by Hamka. This study uses a qualitative method with a holistic thematic interpretation (maudhui) approach and a systematic approach to scientific interpretation. The results of the study show that Quraish Shihab views the environment as a mandate from Allah swt that we must maintain its sustainability with the principles of balance, sense of responsibility, and sustainability. His relevant thinking is to be used as the basis for Islamic environmental ethics that are applicable in the modern era. This finding also fills the literary gap in the study of contemporary interpretation by presenting ecological solutions based on the Qur'an.

This study explores the phenomenon of code-switching as portrayed in the Susah Sinyal movie. Code-switching is the practice of alternating between two or more languages within a single conversation, commonly done by bilingual individuals for different social and communicative reasons. The objective of this research is to examine the types of code-switching using the framework of Romaine (1989) and to describe its communicative functions based on the theory of Appel and Muysken (2006). The data were obtained from the movie using documentation techniques and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The analysis revealed three types of code-switching, namely intra-sentential, inter-sentential, and tag-switching. Additionally, the study identified six functions of code-switching: referential, directive, expressive, phatic, metalinguistic, and poetic. Overall, the use of code-switching in Susah Sinyal movie demonstrates how the characters strategically shift between languages to clarify meaning, convey feelings, direct actions, maintain social bonds, reflect identity, and enhance expression, reflecting the dynamic nature of bilingual communication in Indonesian popular media.

Many fishery products come from fishing and cultivation, saltwater and freshwater fisheries, so a preservation process is needed to maintain the condition of the fish so that it remains good when marketed. In addition, it can increase the economic value of fish. In the Indonesian fisheries industry, various types of preservation, including freeze drying, are drying processes using vacuum pressure and cold temperatures. The freeze-drying process utilizes the phased nature of water to convert solid (frozen) forms into water vapor (gas) at a certain pressure and temperature. The vacuum pressure used ranges from -60.3 cmHg to -71.6 cmHg, and the mass of the fish ranges from 94 grams to 136 grams. The type of research is quantitative and uses experimental methods. The result is in the form of a remaining moisture content percentage of 40% in dried fish according to SNI standard No. 827300:2023. The Respone Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to process the data in this study. From the study, the best value of vacuum pressure was -66 cmHg and mass 102.5417 with a final result of 40%.

This study examines acculturative symbolism and interfaith tolerance through the implementation of the Unan-Unan Ceremony in Tosari District, Tengger region, using a qualitative case study approach and Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism theory as an analytical tool. The Unan-Unan tradition, as a sacred five-year ritual of the Tengger Hindu community, not only carries spiritual meanings such as warding off evil and purifying nature but also serves as a space for social interaction actively involving the Muslim community, particularly in social, cultural, and logistical aspects. Cultural symbols such as offerings, mantras, and collective prayers are interpreted as the result of negotiations and the formation of cross-religious collective identity. The research findings indicate that the symbolism in this tradition represents values of tolerance, mutual aid, and teposliro, thereby strengthening an inclusive and harmonious social structure within a multicultural society. The Unan-Unan ceremony serves as tangible evidence that a cultural approach can create spaces for tolerance and harmony among religious groups without erasing their respective identities. Thus, this tradition is not only significant as a cultural heritage but also as a model of diversity and social peace in Indonesia.

This article aims to explore how the relationship between God and humans (Creator and creation) in relation to their responsibilities as humans to try to keep the earth free from damage that will certainly harm humans themselves. Humans as God's partners on earth are also given a mandate to keep the earth good as in the creation narrative that everything created by God is truly very good. It turns out that the narrative was ignored and turned bad. Humans who were given reason by God, turned out not to use their reason well. Humans who were given a mandate to protect nature well, instead exploited nature arbitrarily. So, nature cannot be friendly with humans, so that lately we have felt the very high heat of the sun and it stings the skin sharply. It is very clear that the heat of the sun that shines is not like the heat that was some time ago not as hot as recently. Perhaps this is the cause of global warming. The world is getting hotter because the ozone layer can no longer withstand the hot and dangerous ultraviolet rays (sun). There is no doubt, global warming will be a universal disaster that will slowly but surely destroy this "very good" world. But whether we realize it or not, this is the result of human actions: deforestation and illegal logging, the greenhouse effect, the use of air conditioning are the causes. Will the world return to chaos because of human activities? In fact, God created this world which was originally chaotic to be good, even very good, in accordance with His purpose to proclaim His glory. Therefore, let's be colleagues with Allah who has been given the mandate in this world to maintain the goodness of this world.

The abolition of the National Examination (UN) as a national policy has marked a significant change in the education evaluation system in Indonesia. This policy was implemented with the aim of reducing psychological pressure on students and replacing it with a more holistic evaluation approach through the National Assessment (AN). However, this transformation has raised various issues, particularly regarding the aspects of equity and accountability in education quality. This study aims to analyze in depth the impact of the abolition of UN on the quality of educational evaluation by examining its implications for equitable access, fairness, and accountability systems at both national and local levels. This research uses a qualitative method with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, analyzing various scholarly literature sources and relevant policy documents published between 2020 and 2024. The findings indicate that although the UN was abolished with the intention of promoting fairness and reducing academic stress, the implementation of AN has yet to ensure equitable implementation of educational evaluations across regions. Moreover, the absence of a standardized, open, and quantitative evaluation indicator such as the UN has weakened transparency and accountability in education, both in the public's perception and in policy-making processes. Therefore, a new evaluation system is needed—one that is not only diagnostic in nature but also ensures data transparency, equitable access, and strengthened public accountability functions in education.

This study aims to provide an understanding of the religion of Muslims in using mosques as a means of community development. Mosques are not just a means of routine worship such as the five daily prayers, but mosques should be used as centers for community activities that are humanitarian in nature, both social and increasing competence in terms of understanding religious teachings, so that from the mosque a generation of Muslims who have adequate competence in terms of understanding religious texts grow and develop, so that religion is used as a guideline for life in living life in the world. Mosques are also a place for developing the economic empowerment of the community, so that the practice of Islamic law related to financial obligations such as zakat and the hajj can be carried out by the community who can use and utilize the mosque as a means of development.

This abstract discusses the characteristics of the true church according to Christian views, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness to the Word of God as the primary foundation. The true church is a community that faithfully proclaims the Gospel of Christ purely, without addition or subtraction from the teachings of the Bible. This faithfulness serves as the basis for the church’s existence as the living body of Christ, functioning to spread salvation to all people. Besides faithfulness to the Word, the proper administration of the sacraments is also an important characteristic of the true church. Sacraments such as baptism and the Lord’s Supper are conducted according to Christ’s commands and serve as means of grace that strengthen the faith of the congregation. The spiritual discipline practiced within the church maintains the holiness of the members and encourages repentance and restoration, so that the community continues to live in truth and love. Unity and holiness reflect the church’s calling to live in love and truth, while the apostolic nature shows its adherence to the teachings of the apostles. Catholicity affirms that the true church is universal and transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

The concept of ‘abandoned land’ in the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) No. 5 of 1960 faces interpretation challenges that impact the effectiveness of the management of unproductive Cultivation Rights (HGU). This research aims to analyse the reconstruction of the concept of abandoned land in UUPA and its implications for the management of unproductive HGU to support the optimisation of agricultural land use. This research is conducted through normative juridical with qualitative descriptive analysis of laws and regulations, court decisions, and related literature. The research findings show that the concept of abandoned land in the UUPA is still multi-interpretive, especially regarding the criteria of ‘not being cultivated according to the circumstances or nature and purpose of the right’. This has led to inconsistencies in the application of sanctions against HGU holders who leave their land unproductive. Concept reconstruction is needed by clarifying the objective parameters of productivity, the period of neglect, and law enforcement mechanisms. The implications of this research indicate the need for regulatory revisions to strengthen legal certainty in HGU management, as well as the development of more effective policy instruments to prevent abandonment of agricultural land to support national food security and social justice in agrarian reform.

East Africa has great potential in the tourism sector, but is vulnerable to the threat of terrorism that can hinder economic growth and regional stability. This research aims to analyze the impact of terrorism on tourism development, especially in Kenya as a case study. The research uses a Library Research method with a descriptive qualitative approach based on narrative and contextual. The theory used is the tactical definition of terrorism by C.A.J Coady which emphasizes violence against civilians for political interests and Esmailzadeh's perspective which states the adaptive and global nature of terrorism. The results of the analysis show that terror attacks, such as those that occurred in several countries in the East African region, do not only cause physical casualties but also psychological and symbolic impacts in the form of declining tourist numbers, disruption of security perceptions and a negative image of the destination in the eyes of the international community. This study emphasizes the importance of an integrated approach: hard security, inclusive economic development, and soft power-based promotion. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of theoretical-philosophical approaches and empirical data to assess the linkages between security and tourism in conflict-prone areas, which have rarely been studied in depth in the East African context.

Students' understanding of the concept of nets and surface area of spatial shapes is still relatively low due to the abstract nature of the material and the lack of connection with real life. This study aims to determine the effect of contextual learning models based on North Sumatra local wisdom on improving elementary school students' concept understanding. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing various relevant sources from 2019 to 2024. The results showed that the integration of local cultural elements, such as Batak traditional houses (Rumah Bolon), gorga carvings, and traditional crafts, can help students understand mathematical concepts more concretely. This approach encourages better spatial visualization and calculation skills, and increases students' motivation and active participation. Learning becomes more meaningful as students can relate the material to their cultural environment. However, challenges such as limited learning resources and teacher readiness are still barriers to implementation. Therefore, training for teachers and development of local culture-based teaching materials are needed. This research contributes to the development of contextual learning strategies that are more relevant to students' cultural background, especially in mathematics education at the primary school level.

Personal hygiene plays a significant role in food contamination, influenced by several factors including the cleanliness of eating utensils. The human body can be a source of contamination, especially when hygiene is not maintained properly, leading to the contamination of food and utensils. Contamination is not only derived from food and water sources but also from unsanitary eating equipment. In Indonesia, regulations have been established under the Minister of Health Regulation No. 1096/Menkes/SK/VI/2011 concerning hygiene and sanitation requirements for food service providers. This study aims to assess the personal hygiene of ready-to-eat food handlers in Latta Village, Teluk Ambon Baguala District. The research is descriptive in nature, using interviews and observations. The study population consisted of 22 ready-to-eat food vendors, with a sample of 5 vendors selected. The results showed that all five food handlers (Vendors I to V) did not meet the hygiene requirements according to the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 1096/Menkes/Per/VI/2011, with a contamination level of 0 CFU. This indicates that the personal hygiene of the five food handlers in Latta Village, Teluk Ambon Baguala District, does not meet the required standards.

Office management is a key component in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative services in both public and educational institutions. The increasing demands for service speed, accuracy, transparency, and professionalism necessitate an integrated and adaptive office management system. This study aims to explore how office management contributes to enhancing administrative service quality through a library research approach. Data were obtained from academic journals, theses, institutional reports, and theoretical literature. The analysis reveals that effective office management encompasses structured planning, proper document management, digital information systems, and staff competency development, all of which contribute significantly to improved service quality. Moreover, standard operating procedures and the integration of manual and digital systems enhance consistency and service reliability. The study supports the theoretical proposition that office management functions planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling are directly correlated with administrative performance indicators. Practical implications include the urgency of digitizing records, implementing standardized workflows, and continuously training administrative personnel. Limitations of this research lie in its purely conceptual and literature-based nature, thus future studies are recommended to adopt empirical or mixed methods approaches for broader generalizability. These findings reaffirm the importance of repositioning office management from a support function to a strategic pillar in administrative service improvement efforts.
