This study analyzes the implications of the slogan “returning to the Qur’an,” which is frequently understood as a call to rely directly on the Qur’an in addressing religious and social issues while neglecting essential exegetical disciplines such as tafsir, asbāb al-nuzūl, and other authoritative scholarly frameworks. The discussion is reinforced by the findings of Husnul Maab, a postgraduate student at the Institut Ilmu Al-Qur’an (IIQ), whose thesis on the textuality of Qur’anic interpretation and its relationship to religious diversity in Indonesia highlights the serious problems inherent in literalist approaches, particularly in the interpretation of verses related to jihad and politics. This research employs a qualitative library research method, using relevant literature as the primary source of data and analysis, requiring in-depth understanding and critical engagement with the subject matter. The findings indicate that the slogan “returning to the Qur’an” can function as a form of interpretive distortion when it is not accompanied by adequate scholarly competence. Attempts to deepen Qur’anic understanding without integrating the bayānī (textual), burhānī (rational), and ‘irfānī (ethical–spiritual) approaches tend to result in rigid and reductionist interpretations. Such purely textual readings represent an extreme position that may lead to harmful consequences, including the tendency to label others as unbelievers, sinners, or wrongdoers solely due to interpretive differences. Ultimately, religious understanding shaped by reactive and exclusionary interpretations poses a significant threat to religious pluralism and social harmony in Indonesia.

This study aims to determine the role of Islamic scholars in developing Islamic education, then analyze the contribution of the Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). This research method is a library study (library research) with historical documents (historical document research) with a qualitative approach. Data obtained from two search sources, “Google Scholar” and “ScienceDirect.” The discussion in this article identifies, first, the role of Islamic scholars in developing Islamic education, namely: managing Islamic boarding schools as centers of Islamic education; maintaining Islamic identity and nationalism; establishing and managing madrasas; teaching Islam informally; and helping maintain social stability. Second, the contribution of the Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) includes maintaining Islamic boarding schools as centers of Islamic education, developing a curriculum based on Islamic tradition, instilling a spirit of nationalism through education, establishing madrasas and non-formal educational institutions, and maintaining traditional Islamic educational networks. In addition to preserving religious heritage, these ulama and the NU organization taught the next generation about knowledge and a sense of nationalism, strengthening the foundation of Indonesian society during the colonial period.

The development of social media-based e-commerce, especially TikTok Shop, has created new challenges and opportunities in building customer loyalty, especially in the highly competitive local cosmetics industry. One of the most popular local brands is Emina, which targets young consumers with an affordable price approach and halal label. However, the level of customer loyalty is still a crucial issue that needs to be strengthened so that business sustainability is maintained. The urgency of this research lies in the need to understand how live streaming and halal labeling, as two relevant marketing strategies in the digital era, are able to shape purchasing interest that leads to customer loyalty. This study uses a quantitative approach with the PLS-SEM technique to test the relationship between variables with 115 TikTok Shop user respondents in Semarang City. The results show that live streaming and halal labeling have a significant effect on purchasing interest and customer loyalty, and purchasing interest is proven to mediate the relationship between the two variables and customer loyalty. These findings indicate the importance of integrating interactive visual approaches and religious belief values in digital marketing strategies for cosmetic products.

This article develops a conceptual model that explains how social capital and digital literacy interact in shaping Islamic financial literacy in the digital era. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study synthesizes theories, empirical findings, and thematic patterns derived from reputable academic journals, scholarly books, and institutional publications. The analysis shows that social capital functions as a value foundation encompassing trust, collective norms, and behavioral orientations that influence individuals’ initial acceptance of sharia-based financial practices. Information obtained through family, religious communities, and social networks becomes a crucial entry point that shapes early perceptions and preferences toward Islamic financial products. Meanwhile, digital literacy strengthens individuals’ ability to access, evaluate, and verify Islamic financial information independently through various digital content such as online articles, infographics, educational videos, and Islamic fintech platforms. The interaction between these two dimensions creates a layered learning process in which social capital provides contextual value and trust, while digital literacy deepens technical understanding in a more objective manner. This article contributes theoretically by proposing the Social Capital–Digital Literacy Integrative Model and offers practical implications for Islamic financial institutions, regulators, and fintech providers in designing more effective strategies to enhance Islamic financial literacy in society.

Over the past 20 years, developments in digital technology have led to the emergence of financial innovation in the form of cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin being the main pioneer. Bitcoin is a decentralized, blockchain-based electronic payment system that is not controlled by a single financial institution. Although its presence facilitates quick and straightforward cross-border transactions, it also raises ethical and legal issues, especially when taking into account Islamic law, which strongly emphasizes justice, certainty, and the welfare of society. This paper aims to investigate the usage of Bitcoin in modern economic transactions from the standpoint of Islamic and international law. This study investigates Islamic legal sources, the views of Islamic scholars, fatwas (religious decrees), and international laws and regulations pertaining to cryptocurrency assets using a qualitative, normative-empirical methodology. The results show that, although opinions among scholars differ, the usage of Bitcoin is subject to ijtihadiyah (Islamic ijtihad) in Islamic law. Some reject it because of its great volatility and speculative potential, while others allow it as long as it provides advantages and does not include riba, gharar, or maysir (the risks associated with gambling). In terms of international law, Bitcoin is typically seen as a digital asset that has to be closely watched in order to preserve economic stability and deter financial crime. Therefore, balanced legislation is required to guarantee that the usage of Bitcoin is in line with the principles of sharia maqasid and global economic fairness.

This paper discusses the role of education in shaping students' ability to recognize and appreciate religious diversity within Indonesia's pluralistic society. Indonesia, as a pluralistic nation, boasts a diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and religions, which demands the instilling of tolerance from an early age, particularly through educational institutions. Students are understood as individuals developing intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually, requiring systematic guidance to understand differences as a gift from God. Recognizing and appreciating religious diversity is not merely about passive tolerance but also encompasses the ability to respect others' beliefs, engage in dialogue, and coexist peacefully without losing one's faith identity. Through education, particularly Christian Religious Education and Pancasila Education, values of tolerance can be instilled through curriculum integration, teacher role models, an inclusive school environment, and practices such as opportunities to worship according to one's religion, interfaith cooperation, and social activities. Teachers play a strategic role as facilitators and role models in fostering empathy and appreciation for differences. Various strategies such as integrating multicultural values, providing worship spaces, strengthening cooperation, and cultivating mutual respect have proven effective in developing tolerant character in students. Research results indicate that education that emphasizes the value of tolerance aligns with the spirit of Pancasila and the teachings of Christ's love in the Bible. Therefore, developing students who value religious diversity is a long-term investment in creating a peaceful, just, and civilized society. Education that prioritizes inclusivity provides a crucial foundation for a generation capable of becoming agents of peace amidst the nation's diversity.

The implementation of the eighth-grade Christian Religious Education teaching module on the topic "Love as the Foundation of a Believer's Life" was carried out as an effort to provide an active, reflective, and contextual learning process in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Learning is designed through an interactive approach with discussion activities, analysis of biblical texts, case studies, problem-solving, and personal reflection that provide opportunities for students to construct understanding independently. Through these activities, students are guided to understand the concept of agape love as sincere love, giving without expecting anything in return, and is manifested in concrete actions towards others. The implementation results show that this teaching module is able to improve students' conceptual understanding of the meaning of love from a biblical perspective and its relevance in modern life. Students appear to be increasingly confident in expressing opinions, are able to work together in groups, and are actively involved in learning activities. In addition, the emergence of attitudes of empathy, tolerance, and habits of helping each other are indicators that the value of love is not only understood cognitively, but also internalized in behavior. This teaching module also contributes to improving students' critical thinking skills and spirituality through reflection activities that invite them to evaluate acts of love in daily life at school, family, and society.

General education at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) plays an important role in developing students’ critical thinking skills so they can analyze religious and social issues reflectively and contextually. However, learning practices in PTKI are still dominated by teacher-centered approaches and low cognitive achievement, which limits the development of analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Meanwhile, studies show that integrating digital media, particularly video, can improve conceptual understanding, motivation, and cognitive engagement, yet a digital video-based meaningful learning model specifically designed for the PTKI context remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to formulate a Digital Video-Based Meaningful Learning Model (MPBBVD) to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a literature review method by analyzing books, scientific articles, research reports, and digital sources related to meaningful learning, constructivism, multimedia learning, digital video use, and critical thinking development. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to identify the theoretical foundations, learning syntax, and design principles of the model. The findings indicate that MPBBVD integrates Ausubel’s Meaningful Learning theory, constructivist perspectives from Piaget, Vygotsky, and Bruner, Mayer’s Multimedia Learning theory, and the critical thinking framework of Facione and Ennis. The model uses digital video as the main learning medium and applies the ACTIVE stages (Attend, Connect, Think, Interpret, Verify, Evaluate) to promote contextual and interactive learning. Integrating pre-, during-, and post-video activities supports knowledge construction, reduces cognitive load, and increases student engagement, contributing theoretically and practically to improving critical thinking in PTKI in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategies of Islamic bank products based on sharia values implemented in Mojoarno Village (Ikhsanudin et al. 2024). The background of this research is the increasing development of Islamic banking in Indonesia which is not always followed by sucient understanding of sharia nancial products at the rural level (Qothrunnada et al. 2023). This condition requires Islamic banks to design marketing strategies that are not only focused on product promotion, but also on education, empowerment, and strengthening public trust (Damayanti 2023). This research uses a qualitative case study approach on an Islamic bank that actively conducts marketing activities around Mojoarno Village (Yin 2018). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with bank marketing sta , religious leaders, and customers, participatory observation in socialization and religious activities, as well as documentation of promotional materials and internal reports (Miles and Huberman 2014). The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with source and technique triangulation to ensure validity. The ndings show that marketing strategies integrated with sharia values—such as justice, transparency, and avoidance of riba, gharar, and maysir—combined with religious and cultural approaches through mosques and majelis taklim can increase public literacy and interest in Islamic bank products (Rahman, Aji, and Sopingi 2023). However, several challenges still remain, including low initial nancial literacy, strong informal nancial practices, and limited marketing resources in rural areas (Syifa, Nasution, and Inayah 2024). The implications of this research emphasize the importance of synergy between Islamic banks, religious leaders, and local communities to develop sustainable sharia-based marketing models in rural contexts.

This research examines inter-ethnic marriages between Acehnese and Bugis-Makassar communities in Makassar City from 1990 to 2004, which emerged as a consequence of social mobility, cross-cultural interaction, and compatibility of religious values. The purpose of this study is to explain the factors that trigger inter-ethnic marriages, the underlying customary processes, and the socio-cultural dynamics that occur within family life. This research uses historical methods, including the heuristic stage, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, with data obtained thru in-depth interviews with four families and related documentary sources. The research findings indicate that holding a wedding requires cultural negotiation between the two groups, with some families adopting traditional Acehnese ceremonial customs, while others implement Bugis-Makassar traditions. In family life, couples face differences in values regarding communication, gender role division, and religious practices, which are then overcome thru a dialogue-based process of adaptation and compromise. This process results in the formation of hybrid cultural identities, the expansion of social networks, and the strengthening of inter-ethnic integration. Overall, intertribal marriages serve as a medium for cultural reconciliation and a means of building more inclusive social relationships in a multicultural society.

This article explores the concept of a “House of Faith” as a holistic educational framework designed to build students’ character based on religious values. The fundamental idea of the House of Faith is likened to a school environment that provides a comfortable and safe space for students to develop their faith and noble character through learning activities connected to religious teachings. A religious school environment is created through everyday atmospheres that encourage the practice of worship, the presence of religious symbols, and community activities that strengthen students’ spirituality. Programs to reinforce religious spirit include activities such as communal prayers, religious studies, and social projects designed to gradually enhance students’ spiritual awareness. Teachers and educational staff play a highly effective role, acting as role models and facilitators in the learning process. Their approach to instilling faith and moral values involves interactive methods such as group discussions, inspirational stories, and personal reflection, all adapted to students’ developmental stages. Collaboration between the school and parents becomes a key factor in ensuring consistent support. This is carried out through regular meetings, joint workshops, and open communication that reinforces family values. The impact of religious spirit on students can be seen in increased discipline, social empathy, emotional resilience, and stronger academic motivation. However, implementation faces challenges such as limited curriculum time, diversity of student backgrounds, and cultural resistance. These challenges are addressed through solutions, including regular teacher training, program evaluation, and the integration of technology for distance learning. Overall, the article emphasizes that a school functioning as a House of Faith can shape young generations who are not only intellectually capable but also strong in faith and morals, contributing to a more harmonious and meaningful society.

This study aims to analyze in-depth the interest of the Setro Village community in choosing PNM Mekaar Syariah financing as a source of capital for micro and small enterprises (MSMEs). This phenomenon is interesting because it shows how economic, social, and spiritual factors contribute to the financial decisions of rural communities. This research was conducted using a qualitative exploratory approach, using case studies and in-depth interviews with key informants. To explain the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, and behavioral control on community intentions to choose Islamic financing, data analysis was conducted thematically. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework was also used. The study shows that positive community perceptions of ease of access, economic benefits, and compliance with Islamic principles are the main factors shaping community interest in PNM Mekaar Syariah. Fast, easy, and uncomplicated financing increases consumer trust and enhances perceived behavioral control. Conversely, increased business capital and family income enhance the sustainability of micro-enterprises. The institution is given moral legitimacy and spiritual conviction by the implemented Islamic values, such as the yield system and the freedom from usury. Community participation decisions are also driven by social factors such as group support, advice from group leaders, and the quality of service provided by field officers. Theoretically, this study adds local religiosity and socio-cultural aspects to enrich the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior in the context of rural Islamic finance.

The diversity of Indonesian society, which consists of various ethnic groups, religions, cultures, and races, represents a great potential for the creation of a harmonious social life. However, the reality shows that intolerance and narrow fanaticism still often arise and even begin to influence students in the educational environment. This has the potential to create social conflicts and damage the nation's character in the future. This study aims to examine the role of education in shaping students to avoid fanatic behavior and social conflicts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through relevant literature studies. The results of the study show that schools have a strategic role in instilling values of tolerance, inclusive attitudes, and religious moderation through learning, teacher role models, and a school culture that respects diversity. In addition, synergy between schools, families, and communities is needed to create an educational environment that is conducive to the development of students' character. Through the implementation of multicultural education and the strengthening of national values on a sustainable basis, students are expected to become a generation with strong character, tolerant, and able to live peacefully alongside others in a pluralistic society.
