The Indonesia Pintar Program (PIP) is an educational assistance program for students from underprivileged families, but determining the eligibility of recipients still faces obstacles in the form of subjectivity and data imbalance. This study aims to classify the eligibility of high school students receiving PIP in Jambi City using data mining methods. The SMOTE technique was applied to overcome class imbalance, and Gain Ratio feature selection was used to determine important attributes. The dataset used consisted of 19,596 student data with a training data distribution of 70% and testing data of 30%. The classification process used the Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree (J48), and Random Forest algorithms with the Use Training Set, 5-Fold, and 10-Fold Cross Validation testing schemes. The results show that SMOTE improves model performance, but feature selection in some cases reduces accuracy. Overall, Random Forest without feature selection provides the best results with an accuracy of 93.33% and is recommended as the most effective model for objectively determining PIP recipient eligibility.

The development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and household industries is often regarded as the economic foundation of a region. However, much of the existing research in Indonesia remains focused on quantitative descriptive analysis, while providing limited attention to spatial dynamics and interregional disparities. This study aims to critically evaluate the spatial distribution patterns of SMEs and household industries at the regency and city levels, with particular emphasis on clustering tendencies, unequal distribution, and their relationships with regional characteristics. A spatial analysis approach is employed to identify spatial autocorrelation and industrial clustering patterns, which is complemented by a structural analysis of infrastructure availability, market accessibility, and regional institutional capacity. The findings indicate that the distribution of SMEs and household industries is not geographically random, but rather forms clusters that are predominantly concentrated in areas with higher levels of accessibility and economic activity. This condition reflects spatial inequality that may exacerbate development disparities between regencies and cities. Furthermore, the results reveal that uniform industrial development policies are insufficient to accommodate the diverse spatial characteristics across regions. Therefore, this study underscores the importance of formulating spatially informed and context-sensitive policies for the development of SMEs and household industries in order to promote more balanced and sustainable regional industrial development.

Stunting and wasting are nutritional problems in toddlers that remain a double burden of malnutrition in Indonesia and have an impact on the quality of health and future human resource development. Monitoring the nutritional status of toddlers is generally carried out using anthropometric indicators, but the use of this data is still limited to descriptive analysis. This study aims to apply the K-Means algorithm in clustering infants vulnerable to stunting and wasting based on anthropometric indicators, so that groups of infants with different levels of nutritional vulnerability can be identified. The dataset used consists of infant data with variables of gender, age (months), height (cm), and weight (kg). The research stages included data preprocessing, encoding categorical variables, data normalization, determining the optimal number of clusters using the Elbow and Silhouette Score methods, and analyzing the characteristics of each cluster. The evaluation results showed that the optimal number of clusters was four. Each cluster has different anthropometric characteristics and distributions of stunting and wasting status, ranging from groups with relatively normal nutritional conditions, groups with a tendency toward overnutrition, to groups that are vulnerable to acute and chronic malnutrition. These clustering results provide a more comprehensive and segmented mapping of toddlers, which can be used as a basis for formulating more targeted and data-driven nutrition policies and interventions.

Diabetic nephropathy is a chronic complication resulting from hyperglycemia, which triggers oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to progressive structural and functional kidney damage. Orange peel and Aloe vera contain bioactive compounds with antioxidant and antifibrotic properties that may protect the kidneys from diabetes induced injury. Nanoemulsion delivery systems can enhance the bioavailability of these extracts in the body. This experimental study aimed to analyze the nephroprotective effects of orange peel and Aloe vera nanoemulsion in a diabetic nephropathy rat model, including glomerular morphology and kidney function. A post-test only control group design was used on Wistar rats divided into five groups: positive control, negative control, and three treatment groups receiving varying nanoemulsion doses. Glomerular structure was evaluated by assessing the number of glomeruli exhibiting synechiae and analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test due to non-normal data distribution, yielding p=0.2387 (p>0.05), indicating no significant differences among groups. Urea levels were elevated above normal, whereas creatinine levels remained within normal limits. Although not statistically significant, the treatment groups demonstrated nephroprotective tendencies, shown by improvements in glomerular synechiae in the diabetic nephropathy model.

Mine disposal materials such as tailings, overburden, and waste rocks are critical components in mining operations that require comprehensive understanding of their geotechnical properties to ensure stability and safety of storage facilities. This literature review aims to analyze the role of particle gradation and mineralogical composition in determining shear strength and compressibility of mine disposal materials, with particular focus on nickel mining. A sistematic literature review method was employed by analyzing 30 scientific publications from 2019-2025 obtained from various academic databases. The review findings indicate that particle size distribution (gradation) has significant influence on shear strength and compressibility, where materials with coarser gradation and higher coefficient of uniformity (Cu) exhibit greater shear strength and lower compressibility. Mineralogy, particularly clay mineral content, increases cohesion and microporosity but also increases compressibility under loose conditions. Studies on nickel mine waste demonstrate that ferronickel slag possesses favorable drainage characteristics suitable for rockfill material, while tailings require strict gradation control. In conclusion, comprehensive characterization integrating gradation parameters (Cu, Cc, D50) with mineralogical analysis (XRD, XRF) is essential for predicting mechanical behavior of mine disposal materials and designing safe storage facilities.

The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is characterized by high seismic activity due to its proximity to the subduction zone and the presence of active fault systems, particularly the Opak Fault. The 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake revealed significant vulnerability in local building structures and highlighted the complex geological conditions governing seismic wave propagation. This study aims to calculate and map the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) distribution in Prambanan District, Klaten Regency—one of the areas closest to the 2006 earthquake source. PGA values were estimated using the McGuire attenuation relationship, based on a moment magnitude of Mw 6.3 and the hypocentral distance to 88 observation points distributed at approximately 900-meter intervals. The resulting PGA map indicates values ranging from 26.7 to 31.7 gal, with a clear spatial trend showing increasing intensity from the northern to the southern parts of the study area. Higher PGA values occur in regions near the Opak Fault and in areas dominated by unconsolidated volcanic deposits of the young Merapi formation. These loose sediments amplify seismic waves, resulting in stronger ground motion compared to areas composed of more compact sedimentary rocks. The spatial pattern of PGA corresponds well with the distribution of structural damage recorded during the 2006 earthquake. The findings emphasize the significant role of local geology and fault proximity in shaping seismic hazard levels. Consequently, this study provides essential insights for disaster mitigation strategies, land-use planning, and structural vulnerability assessment within the Prambanan area.
