The Merdeka Curriculum is a new innovation in the Indonesian education system which aims to give students the freedom to learn and emphasizes the importance of building character and moral values. This study investigates how a free curriculum contributes to the moral formation of students in elementary schools. Relevant sources, such as books, scientific articles and educational policy documents, were collected and analyzed through the literature study method in this research. This research found that a free curriculum, with a more contextual learning approach and involving students' active participation in real activities such as collaborative projects and extracurricular activities, helps students understand moral values and apply them in everyday life. It is proven that parental and community involvement is also an important component in building student character. This research found that the free curriculum not only focuses on improving students' academic achievement but also strengthens moral and ethical values. Therefore, continuous development of this curriculum is necessary to achieve broad educational goals. It is hoped that this research will help educators, policy makers and other researchers improve the quality of education in Indonesia by providing guidance for maximizing the curriculum to achieve more comprehensive educational goals.

In 2007, the President of the Republic of Indonesia issued a government regulation on the implementation of religious education which recognizes that this type of Islamic education has made a great contribution to national development. The regulation explains that religious education such as Islamic boarding schools can be managed formally. Following the government regulation, the Minister of Religion then issued a Ministerial Regulation in 2014 to officially recognize pesantren as a traditional-based education. The regulation allows for the integration of yellow book-based education that allocates 70% or more of the curriculum to Islamic studies and Arabic, while 30% to general subjects. The formalization process of traditional Islamic education reached its peak with the passage of Law No. 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic boarding schools which was ratified on September 24, 2019. The pesantren system must be modernized and run classrooms under the madrasah system. On the other hand, the 2019 law recognizes many aspects of traditional pesantren traditions, including those that advocate the study of the yellow book. According to the law, the government is currently responsible for supporting the implementation of Islamic boarding school tradition-based education as well as support for public schools and madrasas. One of the Islamic boarding school educational institutions that has implemented the Islamic boarding school law is the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School. Sunan Drajat Heritage Islamic Boarding School, one of the nine guardians, since 1994 has established a Mu'allimin-Mu'allimat institution whose curriculum has integrated the pesantren curriculum with the general education curriculum.

Indonesia is a country with a vast diversity of cultures, religions, and ethnicities, which makes it one of the most pluralistic societies in the world. Multicultural education is present as a strategic approach to instill the values of tolerance, inclusion, and social harmony in the midst of this diversity. This article explores the nature of multicultural education in Indonesia from the perspective of Islamic education, which emphasizes respect for differences as part of the sunnatullah. Through literature research methods, this article discusses the concept, implementation, and challenges of multicultural education in the national education system. The results of the study show that multicultural education can be implemented through the development of diversity-based curriculum, teacher training to manage multicultural classrooms, and the creation of an inclusive educational environment. The Islamic perspective provides a strong philosophical and normative foundation to support multicultural education, such as the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith that emphasize the importance of tolerance and intercultural dialogue. However, the implementation of multicultural education faces challenges, including cultural resistance from exclusivity groups and limited resources in schools, especially in remote areas. This article recommends strengthening the socialization of multicultural values, developing contextual teaching materials, increasing teacher training, and allocating adequate resources as solutions to overcome these challenges. By integrating Islamic values in multicultural education, Indonesia can build a generation that is tolerant, inclusive, and able to maintain social harmony in the midst of diversity. Multicultural education in Indonesia is an important approach to creating an inclusive and harmonious society, considering the ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity that exists in the country. This research aims to explore the dynamics of multicultural education, the challenges faced in its implementation, and provide recommendations for educational policies and practices. The method used is library research, with thematic analysis of various relevant literature. Key findings suggest that while multicultural education has great potential to build tolerance and mutual understanding, its implementation is still hampered by a lack of understanding among educators and limited resources. Concrete examples of multicultural educational practices in some schools show that with the right approach, this education can have a positive impact on student attitudes. The resulting recommendations include improved training for teachers, curriculum revision, and collaboration with the community. The study also identified the need for further studies to explore the long-term impact of multicultural education and its comparison with practices in other countries. By overcoming the existing challenges, it is hoped that multicultural education can be implemented more widely and have a positive impact on future generations in Indonesia.

Education is the main foundation in the formation of character and quality of human resources throughout the world. However, the development of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), has presented new challenges in the world of education, especially in maintaining the academic integrity of students. The convenience offered by AI is often used unethically, such as in plagiarism or manipulation of academic assignments. This phenomenon encourages the importance of an alternative approach that does not only rely on policy and supervision, but also instills strong moral values. This study examines the relevance of the Islamic educational psychology approach in strengthening the academic integrity of students in the AI era. This approach offers solutions based on Islamic values such as muraqabah (awareness of Allah's supervision), muhasabah (self-evaluation), and the habituation of noble morals. The study was conducted using a library research method by analyzing literature related to academic integrity, AI technology, and Islamic educational psychology, including the thoughts of Imam Al-Ghazali. The results of the study show that the Islamic values taught by Al-Ghazali are very relevant in overcoming the challenges of academic integrity caused by the development of AI technology. The principle of muraqabah helps students understand the ethical implications of their academic actions, while muhasabah encourages self-reflection to improve behavior. In addition, the habituation of values such as honesty and responsibility provides a long-term solution in shaping students' characters. This conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrating Islamic values into the higher education curriculum to create an academic environment with integrity and ethics amidst the advancement of modern technology.
