This study aims to examine the components of the Christian Religious Education (CRE) curriculum in the family, its design and development, and its concrete implementation. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design through library research, using data sources such as books, academic journals, and relevant articles. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques to produce a systematic and in-depth description. The findings show that the CRE curriculum in the family consists of interconnected components, namely objectives, content, strategies, methods, and evaluation, which must be implemented in an integrated manner. Faith education in the family is carried out through methods such as role modeling, habituation, teaching, discussion, mentoring, and practical application. Effective strategies include parental role modeling, dialogical communication, and love-based discipline. The implementation of the curriculum is realized through concrete activities such as family prayer, family worship, Bible reading, and the application of Christian values in daily life. In conclusion, the success of Christian Religious Education in the family largely depends on the active role and consistency of parents in implementing the curriculum in a holistic and continuous manner. With the right approach, the family can become an effective center of faith education in shaping children who are faithful, character-driven, and prepared to face life’s challenges.

Religious tolerance is an essential value that should be introduced from an early age, especially in Indonesia as a multicultural country with diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Early childhood education (ECE) has an important role in fostering tolerant attitudes through meaningful learning experiences. One effective medium is local wisdom-based storybooks, which integrate cultural values and social norms into narratives accessible to children. This study aims to analyze religious tolerance values contained in local wisdom storybooks and their relevance to multicultural education in ECE. The research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis. Data sources include Indonesian folktales such as Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih, Malin Kundang, Si Pitung, Lutung Kasarung, and Timun Mas. Data were collected through documentation and systematic reading, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that these storybooks contain values of respect for differences, empathy, solidarity, cooperation, and peaceful conflict resolution. These values support multicultural education in ECE through storytelling, discussions, role-playing, and culturally responsive learning activities. The study concludes that local wisdom storybooks are authentic and culturally relevant resources for developing children’s multicultural competence and religious tolerance from an early age.

Research on the inner conflict of the main character in Lenn Liu novel Rumah untuk Alie is important because literary works not only present stories, but also depict the complex psychological reality of humans. This study aims to describe the inner conflict of the main character in Lenn Liu novel Rumah untuk Alie using Sigmund Freud psychoanalytic theory. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of reading and note-taking. The results of the study indicate that the inner conflict of the main character in Lenn Liu novel Rumah untuk Alie includes three personality structures according to Sigmund Freud psychoanalytic theory, namely the id, ego, and superego. This conflict is dominated by the id aspect which is characterized by a strong drive to obtain affection and acceptance that is not fulfilled. In addition, the main character also shows various self-defense mechanisms in response to the psychological pressure he experiences. The findings of this study indicate that the inner conflict of the main character in Lenn Liu novel Rumah untuk Alie is closely related to the unfulfilled emotional needs, especially affection and acceptance in the family environment. This condition gives rise to psychological pressure that drives the main character to use various self-defense mechanisms as a form of self-protection.

This study starts from the observation that Christian education is still often delivered in a one-way, top-down manner. As a result, learners are less actively engaged in understanding their faith and social lives. Paulo Freire’s ideas on critical education offer an approach that emphasizes dialogue, participation, and social change. This study aims to examine Christian educational theology through Freire’s perspective and to explore how his ideas can be applied in learning processes. A qualitative approach was used, employing library research methods—reading, note-taking, and analyzing written sources related to Freire’s thought and Christian educational theology. The findings indicate that Freire’s approach can shift education from teacher-centered to learner-centered. Learning becomes more dialogical, encouraging critical thinking and deeper understanding of reality. Christian education then focuses not only on knowledge of faith but also on character development and spiritual life. Consequently, Christian education should be developed to be more open, participatory, and dialogical through activities such as group discussions, open Q&A sessions, and faith reflection. This enables learners to grow in faith while developing stronger social awareness. Future research is recommended to study the direct application of Freire’s ideas in Christian educational institutions.

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed patterns of communication, learning processes, and the ways believers access religious information in daily life. While this transformation provides easier access to information, it also fosters an instant culture characterized by fast, brief, and less reflective information consumption. This condition poses significant challenges for the Church, particularly in faith formation, as it may weaken the depth of believers’ understanding of faith. This study aims to examine the role of literate catechesis as a response to the instant culture of the digital era, while also exploring the opportunities offered by digital media in faith proclamation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method based on relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that literate catechesis plays a crucial role in fostering mature faith through reading, reflection, and critical thinking processes, enabling believers not only to consume information but also to internalize and live out their faith more deeply. On the other hand, digital media offers significant opportunities to develop catechesis that is broader, more participatory, and contextually relevant. Integrating reflective depth with creative digital approaches is essential to ensure that faith formation remains both meaningful and relevant within an increasingly instant-oriented culture.

Church leadership with integrity is a major challenge today. Melchizedek, a biblical figure of leadership (Genesis 14 and Hebrews 7), serves as a special example because he was both a priest and a king who had no beginning or end. This study aims to determine how Melchizedek's leadership with integrity can be applied by the leaders of the Indonesian Bethel Church in Manokwari. The method used in this research is a qualitative study through reading and reviewing various books and writings. The results indicate that Melchizedek's leadership principles, such as justice, a love of service, and remaining faithful to God, are highly suitable for application in today's church. In conclusion, integrity is crucial in church leadership because it can build trust and create a healthy church community.

The exploitation of natural resources in coastal areas and small islands in Indonesia shows the strong influence of the ideology of extractive capitalism. This ideology often causes ecological conflicts. For example, in the case of the rejection of gold mining that occurred on Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi. This article examines the contemporary Indonesian novel Perempuan yang Tunggu di Lorong Menuju Laut by Dian Purnomo in representing this problem. This study is a qualitative study with an interdisciplinary approach. The main theoretical framework used is ecocriticism (Glotfelty & Buell), extractive capitalism (Gudynas, Harvey, and Bebbington), and the concept of slow violence (Nixon) with a close reading method of the text. The results of the study show that the novel represents: the ideology of anthropocentric-extractive capitalism that reduces Sangihe Island to an economic commodity; dismantles the mechanism of power that conquers law and politics through the practice of elite and ruler collusion; displays the ecocentric resistance of the Sangihe community based on ancestral wisdom and spirituality. In conclusion, this novel voices an ideological critique of the hegemony of anthropocentrism and extractive capitalism and calls for a just and sustainable ecological awareness. Given the novel's limited data, further studies could consider exploring other research subjects or developing a theory of this research subject.

This study aims to describe the representation of love in the character of Indar in the novel Bukan Cinta Monyet by Purnama Teduh based on Erich Fromm’s perspective. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literary psychology approach. The source of this study is the novel Bukan Cinta Monyet, with data consisting of narrative quotations and dialogues related to the representation of love in the character of Indar. Data collection was conducted through reading and note-taking. Data analysis in this study employed content analysis, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that Indar’s representation of love, viewed from the perspective of existential needs, encompasses only the needs for relatedness and attachment. Indar’s representation of love demonstrates an orientation toward brotherly love and erotic love. Meanwhile, elements of mature love such as responsibility, care, respect, and knowledge have not been fully realized. Thus, Indar’s representation of love does not yet demonstrate the maturity of love, but rather the consistency of feelings she maintains from adolescence into adulthood.

The phenomenon of emotional healing has become increasingly prominent in popular culture as the younger generation experiences increasing loss, emotional exhaustion, and numbness. Popular music serves as a medium of expression, representing these emotional dynamics through poetic language and symbolic structures. This study aims to analyze the emotional representation of healing in Umay Shahab's song "Perayaan Mati Rasa" using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, analyzing three layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth, through breaking down the lyrics into several lexicons and reading signs. The results show that (1) denotatively, the lyrics construct an emotional arc from inner tension to self-contemplation; (2) connotatively, the use of diction and imagery represents vulnerability, resilience, and emotional reflection; and (3) at the mythical level, the song constructs release as a form of emotional maturity and loss as a process of identity formation. Thus, this song functions as a cultural representation in interpreting the process of emotional healing in popular culture.

This study aims to analyze the influence of Qirâat (variant Qur’anic readings) on the interpretation of legal verses in Adhwâ’ al-Bayân by Muhammad al-Amîn al-Syinqîthi. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study examines how both mutawâtir and syâdz Qirâat contribute to the process of Islamic legal deduction (istinbâth). The findings reveal that Qirâat function not merely as linguistic variations but also have significant implications for expanding, reinforcing, and providing flexibility in legal meanings across various domains, including worship (ibadah), family law (munâkahât), transactions (mu‘âmalah), and jihad. Al-Syinqîthi integrates linguistic analysis, textual evidence, and the objectives of Islamic law (maqâṣid al-syarî‘ah) in a comprehensive manner, enabling him to accommodate different Qirâat without generating legal contradictions. Mutawâtir Qirâat serve as the primary foundation for legal rulings, while syâdz Qirâat function as complementary and supportive arguments. This study concludes that the diversity of Qirâat constitutes an integral component of Qur’anic exegesis and Islamic jurisprudence, contributing to the development of a flexible, contextual, and relevant Islamic legal framework.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Al Miftah method with a behavioristic approach in improving the ability of students at the Raudlatul Ulum II Islamic Boarding School to read classical Islamic texts. This method provides stimuli in the form of repetitive exercises and positive reinforcement that actively motivate students to learn nahwu and sharaf rules, the main foundations in learning classical Arabic texts. The results of observations and interviews show significant changes in the students' learning behavior; from being passive to being more active, motivated, and able to understand the learning material better. The use of innovative media such as nadhom songs strengthens the memorization of Arabic language rules in a rhythmic and enjoyable way. The role of teachers as facilitators and evaluators is also very important in guiding and motivating students individually. Evaluation of students' abilities through classical Islamic texts reading tests shows that this method is effective in improving reading performance and understanding of classical Islamic texts. Some limitations, such as limited learning time and the number of certified teachers, are concerns for future development.

This study aims to analyze the short story “Siapakah Keluarga dari Tubuh yang Kacau Itu?” by Radja Sinaga using structural and moral approaches in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of its content and meaning. The structural approach is employed to examine intrinsic elements, including theme, characters and characterization, plot, setting, point of view, language style, and message. Meanwhile, the moral approach is used to reveal the ethical values and life lessons contained in the short story. This study applies a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through library research by means of intensive reading and systematic note-taking of the text. The results show that the short story demonstrates a strong structural unity, with the main theme focusing on human suffering caused by war and the loss of family. In addition, several moral values are identified, such as humanity, familial love, criticism of violence, loss of identity, and resilience in facing suffering. The use of the second-person point of view also strengthens the reader’s emotional engagement with the story. Therefore, the combination of structural and moral approaches provides a deeper understanding of the meaning of the short story and its relevance to real-life contexts. This study is expected to enrich literary studies and enhance readers’ appreciation of literary works.

This study analyzes the news text on the online mass media detik.com titled "Jule's Infidelity Issue, Na Daehoon: I am strong for the sake of the children" using Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis model. This research aims to reveal how the discourse of infidelity is constructed in media texts thru subject and object positioning, how character representation is displayed, how the reader's position is directed, the use of narrative structure, and the social context and gender ideology underlying the construction of this discourse. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with the data source being a news text published on detik.com. Data collection techniques were carried out thru document study by carefully reading and recording linguistic units relevant to the research focus, while data analysis techniques used Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis model. The research findings indicate that Na Daehoon is positioned as the dominant subject, possesses voice legitimacy, and is positively represented as a strong and responsible male figure. Conversely, Jule is positioned as the object of news coverage, receiving no opportunity for clarification and being implicitly represented as the problematic party. Additionally, the narrative structure and language choices used in the news text also guide readers to build sympathy toward the male subject. The findings indicate that the analyzed news coverage is not neutral, but rather tends to reproduce patriarchal gender ideologies that could potentially influence society's perception of women in cases of infidelity.

The Qiroati method is an instructional approach to reading the Qur’an that emphasizes direct practice of tartil recitation in accordance with the rules of tajwid. This method is practical, systematic, and implemented gradually, meaning that learners are not allowed to proceed to the next level before achieving fluency at the current stage. One of the main challenges in learning to read and memorize the Qur’an is the limited use of structured teaching methods, as some teachers still rely primarily on personal experience and conventional reading approaches. This condition contributes to students’ lack of fluency in reading and memorizing the Qur’an, as well as decreased learning motivation due to monotonous and less effective instructional practices. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Qiroati method in improving students’ Qur’anic reading ability within the Tahfidzul Qur’an program at SMP Daruttaqwa Full Day School. The findings are expected to provide useful insights for educators and contribute to academic knowledge. This research employs a field research design with a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on describing the application of the Qiroati method in enhancing students’ reading ability in relation to Qur’an memorization. Data were collected through interviews, tests, and documentation, while data analysis involved data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the Qiroati method effectively improves students’ ability to read the Qur’an in the Tahfidzul Qur’an program. This is evidenced by the improvement in students’ reading scores compared to their previous performance. In practice, the method involves teachers modeling correct recitation, followed by students reading collectively. Therefore, the Qiroati method not only enhances students’ accuracy in reading the Qur’an but also fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment.

This study is motivated by the importance of the relationship between reading and speaking skills in Arabic language learning. Reading, as a receptive skill, plays a significant role in enriching vocabulary, understanding language structures, and constructing meaning, which in turn affects speaking ability as a productive skill. At Baitul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Bandung, variations were observed in students’ abilities in reading Arabic texts and speaking Arabic, raising questions about the existence of a relationship between these two skills. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Arabic reading skills on Arabic speaking skills among fifth-grade students (Class V-A) in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The subjects of the study consisted of all 28 students in Class V-A, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through reading skill tests and speaking skill tests, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman rank correlation test. The results indicate a significant relationship with a strong level of correlation between Arabic reading skills and Arabic speaking skills. This is evidenced by the correlation coefficient (r-value) of 0.824, which is higher than the r-table value at a 5% significance level (0.374). It is recommended that the development of reading skills be more systematically integrated with speaking practice. Further research is suggested to involve a larger sample size and more diverse variables to strengthen the findings.

This study examines the relationship between voice, silence, and narrative authority in three poems by Najwan Darwish: I Write the Land, The Shelling Ended, and Barely Breathing. Drawing on postcolonial theory and discourse analysis, this research employs a qualitative approach through close reading to explore how silence is represented and transformed within the poetic texts. The findings reveal that silence in these poems is not merely the absence of voice but a complex condition shaped by historical erasure, political marginalization, and psychological trauma. Furthermore, the analysis identifies a central paradox: while the poems repeatedly articulate the loss or impossibility of voice, they simultaneously function as acts of articulation. This paradox demonstrates that silence does not eliminate voice but reconfigures it into indirect, fragmented, and symbolic forms of expression. Ultimately, the study argues that poetry serves as a medium of narrative resistance, enabling marginalized voices to challenge dominant discourses and reclaim narrative authority. By articulating silence, Darwish’s poetry creates an alternative space in which suppressed experiences can be expressed, preserved, and reimagined.

This study aims to enhance the academic synergy of the Quranic Studies and Exegesis Program at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo in supporting Quranic literacy mentoring activities for coastal communities in Oluhuta Village, Bone Bolango Regency. The study is motivated by the low level of Quranic literacy in coastal areas, which is influenced by limited access to religious education and a shortage of competent mentors. This condition is further exacerbated by the fact that most residents of Oluhuta Village are fishermen who spend much of their lives at sea, limiting opportunities for structured learning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the role of lecturers and students from the Quranic Studies and Exegesis Department in planning, implementing, and evaluating a mentoring program aimed at strengthening basic skills in reading and writing the Quran. The findings show that interdisciplinary academic synergy, particularly in tajwid, tahsin, and Quranic teaching methodologies, significantly improves participants’ Quranic literacy skills. In addition, the program strengthens the relationship between Islamic higher education institutions, particularly IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, and the surrounding community. It also serves as a medium for implementing academic integration and community service values. This study recommends the development of an integrated and context-based Quranic mentoring model for similar coastal communities in other regions.
