This research aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in implementing character education through Social Sciences (IPS) learning in elementary schools, especially at MIN 1 Metro. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews, observation and literature study. The research results show that the main challenge lies in the diversity of student backgrounds and differences in character based on gender, which requires a different and more personalized teaching approach. On the other hand, the Independent Curriculum provides great opportunities with flexibility in planning and implementing learning that is integrated with character values. Strategies such as value reflection, collaboration between students, and strengthening teacher-student relationships have proven effective in instilling values such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. This research concludes that character education can be implemented optimally if it is supported by an adaptive curriculum, appropriate teaching strategies, and active involvement of teachers and parents.

Learning strategies are crucial because this is the first step given by the teacher. The step that needs to be considered is determining the learning strategy that will accommodate the development of students. The main teacher can choose the best teaching methods and strategies to create excellent learning, adjust the material to the students' abilities, and enable students to receive knowledge transfer. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore project-based religious learning strategies applied in the Islamic Religious Education subject at SMP Muhammadiyah 05 Medan Denai. This approach was chosen to deeply explore the practices, experiences, and impact of learning on the religious awareness of the students. Interviews with students show that involvement in the project has made them better understand religious values in real life. Some students admitted to starting to pray on time, being more diligent in reading the Quran, and being more concerned about the social environment. This shows that the religious project encourages the internalization of values through direct experience, not just memorization or theory. This learning not only strengthens the understanding of Islamic material but also instills religious values through real practices that can be directly experienced by the students. Some forms of projects, such as mini-dawah, infaq movements, and adab campaigns, have proven to enrich students' experiences and enhance their awareness of Islamic values in daily life. Islamic education teachers play an important role as facilitators, not only guiding students in project activities but also providing space for reflection and evaluation. Students feel more motivated and actively engaged in the learning process, which leads to changes in their religious behavior, such as increased discipline in worship and a greater sense of care for their surroundings.

This study aims to analyze the interference of local dialects in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. The research employs a qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques such as participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that most students experience linguistic interference in various aspects. Several factors contribute to this interference, including the dominance of the Minangkabau dialect in daily life, the lack of emphasis on the differences between regional dialects and standard Indonesian in the learning process, and the limitations of teaching methods used by educators. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Indonesian language teachers implement more effective and contextual learning strategies. These strategies may include increasing students' awareness of the differences between regional dialects and standard Indonesian, employing interactive and engaging teaching methods, providing specialized training in pronunciation and sentence structure that aligns with Indonesian language rules, and conducting regular evaluations to adjust learning strategies according to students' needs. With a more adaptive and innovative approach, students are expected to acquire better proficiency in Indonesian and reduce the influence of local dialects in their learning process

Applying PBL allows students to actively engage in learning, develop problem-solving skills, and think critically. The results of this study show that PBL can increase students' motivation in learning and encourage better interaction between students. Additionally, the PBL model is effective in helping students construct their knowledge, relate the subject matter to real life, and improve their overall learning outcomes. This research contributes to developing innovative learning methods that can be applied to improve the quality of education, especially in biology learning. These findings imply the importance of using problem-based learning models in improving education quality and students' high-level thinking skills. For further research, exploring the application of PBL in other subjects and its impact on students' social skills is recommended.

Inquiry learning strategy is an educational approach that places students at the center of the learning process by encouraging them to actively seek, discover, and conclude knowledge through questioning, observing, and critically analyzing. In this strategy, students are not passive recipients of information from the teacher but are directly involved in learning activities that demand critical and analytical thinking skills. Through inquiry learning, students develop critical thinking abilities by engaging in stages such as problem formulation, hypothesis development, data collection, and drawing conclusions based on observations and analysis. This approach has been proven effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills as it promotes active and independent participation in learning, while also boosting motivation and self-confidence. The teacher acts as a facilitator who guides and motivates students to sharpen their critical thinking skills in solving problems systematically and logically. Thus, inquiry learning strategy not only enriches students’ understanding of the subject matter but also equips them with essential thinking skills to face future life and learning challenges.

Summarizing Arabic texts plays a crucial role in understanding and disseminating knowledge. In Arabic language learning, there is a concept known as Naht, which is the process of simplifying or condensing lengthy and complex texts into a shorter form without diminishing the core meaning contained within them. However, in reality, many students still struggle to summarize Arabic texts due to less interactive teaching methods, resulting in passive attitudes and a lack of self-confidence among students. This study aims to develop more interactive teaching techniques to enhance student participation while supporting their critical thinking skills, particularly in the ability to summarize after reading Arabic texts. This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of interactive methods such as group discussions and mind mapping positively impacts students' ability to summarize Arabic texts and develop critical thinking skills. Group discussions help deepen understanding and boost students' confidence, while mind mapping facilitates the identification of core material and makes learning more engaging and easier to remember. This technique has proven effective in improving summarization skills and sharpening critical thinking, thus it is recommended for teachers to implement and further develop it in order to create an optimal learning process for students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Izzul Islam.
