This research aims to increase sales and national market expansion for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Brokoh Village, Batang Regency, through marketing innovations for tempeh chips. MSMEs in the food sector, especially those based on local products such as tempeh chips, have great potential to grow, but are often hampered by limited market access and digital marketing knowledge. This research utilizes the Community Service Program (KKN) approach to provide direct assistance to local MSMEs. Through field surveys, marketing strategy development, product innovation, and promotion, the research successfully introduced new flavors, more attractive packaging designs, and effective promotional strategies. The results of this study showed that the innovative approach was able to strengthen product identity, improve competitiveness, and expand the market reach of MSMEs at the national level. The impact is expected to encourage sustainable growth for MSMEs in Brokoh Village and improve the welfare of the local community.

Plastic waste is a common problem in all regions of Indonesia. As one of the largest contributors to plastic waste in the world, Indonesia faces a major challenge in plastic waste management. One creative solution that is gaining popularity is ecobricking, an environmentally friendly plastic waste management technique that turns plastic waste into strong and durable “bricks”. This research uses a qualitative method in the process, where data is taken through direct observation in the Rejosari village environment, experiment, as well as literature studies from books, journal articles, and other archives. Through the KKN work program, 84 ecobricks were successfully made by collecting plastic waste from grocery stores, food stalls, and markets. Approximately 7 kg of plastic waste has been absorbed for the needs of ecobricking. Overall, ecobricks have great potential in reducing plastic waste, increasing community awareness of the importance of waste management, as an environmental conservation effort, while supporting local economic empowerment.

The amount of waste and residual materials produced by human enrichment increases every year along with the increasing population. Empowering household units in managing domestic organic waste has the potential to reduce organic waste, including food waste. In addition to disposing of household organic waste, it can also be used as raw material for making compost. The purpose of this community service activity is to demonstrate liquid organic fertilizer production techniques to the local community and increase public awareness of the benefits of household waste processing. This activity was attended by 20 people from household representatives in Banteng Village, Tersono District, Batang Regency. The demonstration service method implemented was considered effective in terms of the interest and level of innovation of the community in utilizing empty land as a follow-up to making liquid organic fertilizer independently.

Microenterprises in Desa Sumber are small-scale household businesses run by the local community. Based on the existence of businesses, there are SMEs that produce processed food and batik cloth. In the processed food business, problems arise related to the absence of assistance and business management to develop, so that the community conducts small-scale and limited household businesses. Problems in the batik business are weak competitiveness, the number of batik products produced, and the lack of marketing expansion. The solution applied in this community service is micro business empowerment activities carried out through data collection, partnerships, ease of licensing, institutional strengthening and coordination with stakeholders. Food processing training, branding and packaging training, and marketplace development training were carried out.

This study examines the application of Quality Engineering methods to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a community service program. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies conducted via a webinar at Universitas Sehati Indonesia (USINDO), the research explores how systematic quality improvement strategies can be introduced and adapted for MSMEs to enhance product quality and competitiveness, this study analyzed scientific publications, community service reports, and quality improvement program documentation from 2019-2024. The findings demonstrate that Quality Engineering principles-including Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Seven Basic Tools of Quality, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)-significantly enhance product quality when adapted to SMEs' specific contexts. Case studies reveal improvements ranging from 29.5% to 97.92% across various aspects including customer satisfaction, food safety, and production efficiency. The research identifies key challenges in implementation, including technical knowledge limitations, resource constraints, and difficulties in maintaining long-term changes. The successful integration of Quality Engineering methods depends on active participation from SME stakeholders, approaches tailored to local contexts, and continuous post-program mentoring. This study contributes to developing an integrative framework that combines Quality Engineering principles with practical SME needs, supporting sustainable quality culture development in the SME sector.
