This study examines the role of the Manupeu Tanah Daru and Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park Office (Balai TN MaTaLaWa) in managing community-based tourism at Lapopu Waterfall, Rewarara Village, Wanokaka District, West Sumba Regency. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the implementation of community-based tourism management in the conservation area. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study involving the National Park Office, village government, local communities, tourism managers, and tourists. The results indicate that Balai TN MaTaLaWa has performed its role as regulator, facilitator, catalyst, and dynamizer in tourism management. Its role as regulator is reflected in the establishment of tourism management rules and supervision of conservation areas. As a facilitator, the institution supports tourism facilities and community economic activities. As a catalyst, Balai TN MaTaLaWa builds cooperation among stakeholders, while as a dynamizer it provides training and tourism awareness education to local communities. The implementation of Community Based Tourism (CBT) has involved local communities in tourism activities, particularly as tour guides and environmental caretakers. However, tourism management still faces several challenges, including limited tourism human resources, inadequate supporting facilities, and unstable water discharge affecting the attractiveness of Lapopu Waterfall. Therefore, strengthening community capacity, improving infrastructure, and enhancing cooperation among stakeholders are necessary to support sustainable tourism management in the area.

The effectiveness of zakat management within the educational sector plays a crucial role in improving mustahik welfare. This study aims to analyze the management of zakat by the School Zakat Management Unit (UPZ) at SMKN Pringkuku Pacitan in enhancing the well-being of its beneficiaries. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through interviews, direct observations, and documentary reviews. The findings reveal that the zakat management mechanism has been structured systematically, encompassing collection, distribution, and mustahik classification based on the eight categories of asnaf. Specifically, professional zakat (zakat profesi) is collected via a 2.5% monthly salary deduction from civil servant (PNS) and government employee (PPPK) staff, while zakat fitrah is accumulated from all teachers, staff, and students. The allocated zakat funds are regularly distributed to underprivileged students, orphans, and the community residing around the school environment. This financial intervention is proven to yield a positive impact by supporting educational expenses, fulfilling daily basic needs, and boosting students' learning motivation. The implication of this study emphasizes that the school-based zakat management model holds significant potential to be replicated as an effective social empowerment instrument to secure student welfare.

This study aims to describe gazebo management strategies as tourism infrastructure to increase visitor attraction at Pasir Putih Parparean II Beach, Porsea Subdistrict, Toba Regency. The beach is a unique destination in the Lake Toba area, characterized by fine white sand that is rarely found in the region. However, visitor data from the Toba Regency Tourism Office reveals a significant decline, from 35,304 visitors in January–April 2023 to only 1,550 visitors in January–August 2025. This decline is closely linked to the unplanned construction of permanent gazebos on the beach area, which has reduced the open space that constitutes the beach’s main attraction. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The key informants consisted of three beach managers: Herbert Napitupulu, Nora Pandiangan, and Her Hutasoit, selected purposively based on their direct involvement and in-depth knowledge. Two regular tourists were also included as additional informants. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that gazebo management strategie including facility improvements, environmental landscaping, and the provision of supporting amenities contribute significantly to enhancing visitor comfort and tourism appeal. This study recommends more systematic and planned management, spatial restructuring of gazebo placement, and the implementation of effective promotional strategies to support Pasir Putih Parparean II Beach as a sustainable tourism destination.

Background: Adenoid hypertrophy is a condition characterized by enlargement of the adenoid tissue which can cause nasopharyngeal obstruction and potentially affect the function of the Eustachian tube. Dysfunction of the Eustachian tube may disrupt middle ear ventilation and increase the risk of otitis media. The degree of adenoid hypertrophy can be objectively assessed using a lateral nasopharyngeal radiograph by calculating the adenoid–nasopharyngeal ratio (A/N ratio). Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between adenoid hypertrophy based on the adenoid–nasopharyngeal ratio and the incidence of otitis media. Methods: This study was a quantitative research with an analytic observational design using a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of patients with adenoid hypertrophy who underwent lateral nasopharyngeal radiographic examination at RSI Purwokerto from 2022 to 2025. The sample consisted of 31 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test because the data were not normally distributed based on the Shapiro–Wilk test. Results: The results showed that most of the subjects were male (17 subjects, 54.8%) and female (14 subjects, 45.2%). The median age of the subjects was 7 years with an age range of 4–9 years. The median adenoid–nasopharyngeal ratio was 0.90 with a range of 0.68–0.99. Otitis media was found in 11 subjects (35,5%), while 20 subjects (64,5%) did not experience otitis media. The Spearman correlation test showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.015 with a p-value of 0.936 (p > 0.05), indicating that there was no significant relationship between the adenoid–nasopharyngeal ratio and the incidence of otitis media. Conclusion: There was no statistically significant relationship between adenoid hypertrophy based on the adenoid–nasopharyngeal ratio and the incidence of otitis media.

This study aims to analyze the financial management practices of the Es Degan Bu Ulfa MSME and their compliance with the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM). The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through interviews and observations, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results indicate that financial management is still carried out simply and does not yet implement written records. Business income and expenses still rely on memory, even though business owners perform daily profit and loss calculations and separate personal and business finances. The main obstacles faced include limited human resources and a low understanding of financial record keeping and the SAK EMKM. Based on the analysis, financial management practices are not fully compliant with SAK EMKM standards. Therefore, the implementation of simple financial record keeping is necessary to structure business financial information and support business decision-making. Proper financial management can help improve business performance, monitor cash flow, evaluate profitability, and enhance accountability. Furthermore, the application of SAK EMKM is expected to facilitate access to financing and strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of MSMEs in an increasingly competitive business environment.

The practice of buying and selling rubber commodities in Gurun Tuo Village has not fully aligned with Islamic business ethics principles, particularly regarding honesty (ṣidq), gharar (uncertainty), and justice (‘adl). This condition has the potential to disadvantage one of the parties, especially farmers as the main producers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the practice of rubber trading and assess its conformity with the principles of Islamic business ethics. This research employed a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Rubber farmers, collectors, and other related parties in Gurun Tuo Village were selected as informants. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to describe the actual conditions in the field. The results showed that several practices were still inconsistent with Islamic business ethics principles, such as the lack of transparency in determining quality and prices, the presence of gharar elements in the weighing process, and inequality in price determination that affected fairness for farmers. Nevertheless, some business actors had attempted to implement honesty in transactions. This study concludes that the practice of rubber commodity trading in Gurun Tuo Village has not fully complied with Islamic business ethics principles, especially in terms of honesty (ṣidq), justice (‘adl), and the prohibition of gharar. Factors influencing these conditions include internal factors such as socio-cultural, economic, and educational aspects, as well as external factors in the form of weak village institutions. However, the implementation of Islamic business ethics can be improved through transparency, education, and strengthening institutions such as cooperatives.

Patient satisfaction represents the comparison between expectations before receiving health services and perceptions of the quality of services provided. The assessment of healthcare service quality generally uses the five SERVQUAL dimensions, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. A preliminary survey showed that the reliability dimension obtained the lowest average score compared to other dimensions. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of BPJS (National Health Insurance) patients who received services. A total of 386 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a SERVQUAL-based questionnaire and analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariate (logistic regression) analyses to identify the dominant factors related to patient satisfaction. The results indicated that the variables of age (p < 0.05) and all five SERVQUAL dimensions (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) were significantly associated with patient satisfaction levels. It can be concluded that most BPJS patients were satisfied with the services provided. The assurance dimension was found to be the most influential factor. Therefore, efforts to improve service quality should focus on strengthening aspects of assurance, trust, and service reliability.

This study examines the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance on firm value in the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021–2023. The study is motivated by inconsistent empirical findings regarding the relationship between ESG and firm value, as well as differences in sectoral characteristics that may influence ESG effectiveness. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of ESG on firm value in both sectors and compare the differences between them. This research employs panel data analysis using samples of 23 Consumer Staples companies and 19 Consumer Discretionary companies over a three-year period, resulting in 69 and 57 observations respectively. The Fixed Effect Model was applied to the Consumer Staples sector based on the Hausman test result, while the Consumer Discretionary sector used the Random Effect Model. Firm value was measured using Tobin’s Q, ESG performance was proxied by Bloomberg ESG Score. The findings indicate that ESG has no significant effect on firm value in the Consumer Staples sector, while ESG has a significant negative effect in the Consumer Discretionary sector. These results suggest that the relevance of ESG depends on sector characteristics and market perceptions of ESG investment in Indonesia.
