This study explores how expressive speech acts are used in the teen romantic comedy movie "To All the Boys: Always and Forever," directed by Michael Fimognari. Using Searle's theory of expressive speech acts and Yule's framework for direct and indirect speech acts, the study analyzes the female main character's speech acts through a descriptive qualitative approach. The study identifies few instances of expressive speech acts, with doubting speech being the most frequent. It also discovers that direct speech acts are more widely used than indirect ones. These findings contribute to the understanding of expressive speech acts in film, specifically how emotions and attitudes are conveyed through conversation.

In everyday conversation the word “criticism” usually has an unfavorable or negative meaning.  This word is often associated with a negative or bad assessment of something. But this can also have a positive impact. For example, art, literature, music, etc. In this case, criticism is a type of interpretation that seeks to systematically emphasize the properties of something. When applied to the Bible, this approach is often understood as a passive effort.  However, this textual critical approach is a systematic effort to understand the Bible by examining its form, content, and context, studying it, explaining it, and exploiting the benefits of understanding it from everyone’s point of view. Regarding the Gospel of John, there are several things you need to know about his theology. Jesus had several titles that need to be looked at and studied to know their true meaning. The author uses qualitative methods to examine the history in which Jesus faced the Jews and the Roman empire. As well as the teachings that Jesus gave to His disciples.

The results of the study show that the community in Pattene Village uses a number of homograph words in the Makassar language that have multiple meanings depending on the context of the speech. A total of 12 main homographs were successfully identified through interviews and field observations. These homographs have the same phonological structure but show different meanings based on situational context, tone of voice, and position in a sentence. For example, the word "balla" can mean house in a general context, but is also used to express the meaning of an extended family or origin in a traditional context. This shows that the understanding of the meaning of homographs is highly dependent on the cultural knowledge and social experience of the speaker.
