This study aims to examine the role of community participation in supporting cleanliness programs to create a clean and healthy residential environment in Baru Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving local residents and the neighborhood head (RT). The collected data were analyzed descriptively to identify the forms of community participation and the factors influencing it. The findings indicate that community participation plays an important role in supporting the success of environmental cleanliness programs. Such participation is reflected in regular community service activities, drainage cleaning, household waste management, proper waste disposal, environmental greening, and maintaining the cleanliness of homes and surrounding areas. Factors influencing community participation include residents’ awareness, support from neighborhood heads and community leaders, cooperation among residents, the availability of sanitation facilities, and the regular implementation of cleanliness activities. Community participation also provides positive impacts, including a cleaner and healthier environment, reduced risk of water stagnation, improved environmental comfort, and stronger social relationships among residents. Therefore, community participation needs to be continuously enhanced to ensure the sustainability of cleanliness programs and the ongoing realization of a clean and healthy residential environment.

This study aimed to determine the effect of Geoboard learning media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in plane geometry. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The participants were 29 fourth-grade students of SDN Pejagan 1 Bangkalan selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through observation and multiple-choice achievement tests administered before and after the implementation of Geoboard media. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using Geoboard. The mean pretest score increased from 67.21 to 87.10 on the posttest, indicating an average gain of 19.90 points. The normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed, while the Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that Geoboard learning media significantly improves students’ mathematics learning outcomes in plane geometry. Therefore, Geoboard can be used as an effective learning medium to support mathematics instruction in elementary schools.

This study aims to describe Sundanese language learning discourse in the eleventh grade at SMA Negeri 8 Bandung city based on the components of learning discourse. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation using the non-participatory observation method (SBLC) and recording techniques. The data consisted of recorded utterances during Sundanese language learning activities, which were then transcribed into written form. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and hermeneutic techniques. The results showed that the learning process consisted of opening, core, and closing activities using the Cooperative Learning model. The components of learning discourse identified included opening and closing conversations, participant cooperation, speech acts, and the nature of utterance sequences. The interaction demonstrated the use of quantity and quality maxims, locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary speech acts, as well as chained utterance sequences in the form of question-and-answer interactions between teacher and students. The findings also revealed that the learning process tended to be teacher-centered, as the teacher was more dominant in directing classroom interaction, although the communication remained interactive and supported the achievement of learning objectives.

This study aims to describe the level of understanding of grade IV students of SD HKBP Perdamean regarding environmental pollution. The research method used is descriptive with a focus on depicting student understanding based on the indicators that have been set. The research data shows that students' understanding is in the category quite well, although it is not even in every indicator. Students better understand aspects of direct action such as keeping the environment clean, planting trees, and saving on the use of plastic. However, understanding of the causes and impacts of environmental pollution, such as littering, river pollution, waste incineration, and air pollution, is still relatively low. In general, the results of the study show that students' understanding is still dominant in simple practical knowledge, so it does not fully cover the concept of environmental pollution and causes. These findings underscore the need for more contextual, student-centered, and hands-on learning that integrates real-world experiences with scientific concepts. Thus, a more interactive and environment-based learning strategy is expected to improve students' overall understanding of environmental pollution and its impact on life.

The curriculum is one of the important elements in education which functions as a guide for carrying out learning activities at school. The success of education really depends on the teacher's ability to understand and describe the existing curriculum system. This research aims to reveal the importance of teacher accuracy in describing the curriculum system during the learning process at SDN Sumbertlaseh 2 Sumbertlaseh Village. The method applied in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that teachers' accuracy in understanding and explaining the curriculum system can help the learning process take place more efficiently, increase students' understanding of the material being taught, and support the achievement of educational goals more optimally. Therefore, teachers need to improve their understanding of the structure and implementation of the curriculum so that the learning process becomes better.

In today's digital age, students prefer to switch from conventional learning resources to online media platforms. This convenience presents many problems related to students' lack of information literacy and critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the behavior and preferences of 10th grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Magelang in using digital media as an academic reference source. The research method used in this study was descriptive quantitative using a Likert scale questionnaire distributed to 35 10th grade students as respondents. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to identify trends in student behavior. The findings of this study indicate that most students are very active in exploring the internet, using search engines such as Google and watching educational videos on YouTube to find references/references for school assignments. Many students began to show critical awareness by cross-checking the accuracy of information and comparing several digital sources before using them. However, there were still variations in the ability to distinguish credible information and persistence in consistently citing sources in the bibliography.Overall, students feel that digital media greatly supports them in understanding lesson material more quickly, but they still need additional guidance to improve their digital literacy so that the use of technology can continue to support responsible academic achievement.

Mathematics is often perceived as challenging by students due to its abstract nature, leading to low engagement and poor learning outcomes. Differences in student characteristics, such as varying levels of readiness, interests, and learning styles, have not yet been fully accommodated in conventional teaching methods. These conditions underscore the need for a learning approach that can adapt to students’ needs, such as differentiated instruction. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of differentiated instruction in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes through a literature review. Data were collected using a documentation technique by searching Google Scholar for relevant scientific articles. The analyzed articles were published between 2020-2025, sourced from accredited journals indexed in SINTA, and aligned with the research topic. Based on the selection process, 10 articles were obtained and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that differentiated instruction is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes, as evidenced by improved scores, learning mastery, and conceptual understanding, and in increasing student engagement in the learning process.

The digital technology revolution has significantly influenced and transformed the education sector, particularly in how students access information and interact within learning environments. Easy access to various sources of information offers great opportunities for the learning process, but it also presents challenges related to students’ attitudes, ethics, and their ability to use technology wisely. In this context, the teacher’s role becomes increasingly essential not only as a provider of instructional material, but also as a figure who models character development. This study aims to analyze the contribution of teachers’ personality competencies in shaping students’ character in the digital era. A qualitative approach was employed using a literature review method. Various scientific articles relevant to teacher personality competencies and character education served as the primary data sources. The findings were examined through descriptive qualitative analysis to identify concepts, theories, and previous research related to the role of teachers in character building. The results of the review indicate that teacher personality aspects, such as integrity, discipline, responsibility, empathy, and moral exemplarity, significantly contribute to students’ character development. Teachers with positive personality traits can create a supportive learning environment, model appropriate behavior, and guide students in using technology wisely. Therefore, strengthening teachers’ personality competencies is an essential step in supporting the success of character education in the digital era.

In everyday life, communication is not merely used to convey information, but also conveys specific intentions or actions that are realized through spoken utterances. In the study of pragmatics, these actions are known as speech acts, which can be performed through direct or indirect speech act strategies. These two strategies have different meanings and are understood based on the conversational context. The Indonesian version of the film “Miracle in Cell No. 7” was chosen as the subject of this study because it features various interactions among characters set against diverse emotional, social, and legal contexts, thereby allowing for the emergence of various speech act strategies. This study aims to describe the forms of direct and indirect speech act strategies and to explain the meanings contained in the characters’ utterances in the film “Miracle in Cell No. 7.” This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques conducted through observation and note-taking. The results indicate that direct speech act strategies are used to clearly convey intentions, such as commands and prohibitions, while indirect speech act strategies are used to convey intentions implicitly, such as empathy, polite requests, and expressions of regret.

This study aims to describe the shift in language variety within the student social media ecosystem and analyze its relevance to strengthening the use of formal Indonesian in higher education. The development of digital communication technology has created new interaction patterns that influence students' lexical choices, syntactic structures, and discourse construction. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a sociolinguistic approach. Data were obtained through documentation of students' social media posts over three months, in-depth interviews, and analysis of academic essay texts. The analysis was conducted through data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and verification using source and method triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results indicate four dominant forms of language shift: code-mixing, the use of digital abbreviations, non-standard vocabulary, and simplification of sentence structure. These shifts are partially carried over into academic writing and affect grammatical accuracy, sentence effectiveness, and text coherence. However, digital language practices also demonstrate students' linguistic creativity and social identity construction. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating digital literacy and language awareness-based learning into the higher education curriculum to maintain formal Indonesian standards without ignoring sociolinguistic dynamics in the digital space.

The use of Standard Indonesian in academic presentations is an important competency for students, including students of the English Language and Literature Study Program whose academic activities often use foreign languages. The ability to speak Standard Indonesian accurately reflects academic proficiency and a positive attitude towards the national language in formal situations. This study aims to analyze the level of Standard Indonesian use in students' academic presentations and identify non-standard language forms in spoken discourse. The method used is descriptive qualitative with classroom presentation observation techniques, audio recording, and transcription of student speech. Data were analyzed based on Standard Indonesian rules in phonological, morphological, syntactic, and lexical aspects. The results of the study indicate that the use of Standard Indonesian is still relatively low. Students often mix Indonesian and English, use non-standard vocabulary, construct ineffective sentences, and use pronunciation that does not conform to norms. Contributing factors include language habits, the dominance of English, minimal formal language practice, and low awareness of the importance of Standard Indonesian in formal academic contexts.

In the rapidly developing digital era, the internet has become a primary communication platform for teenagers, resulting in the development of new language variations, particularly slang vocabulary. The background of this study is the rapid changes in language use among teenage internet users, who demonstrate high linguistic creativity, yet the development process remains poorly understood. The purpose of this study is to analyze the forms of new slang vocabulary formation and the factors that drive this linguistic creativity. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach, where data were collected through observations on social media platforms and interviews with teenage internet users. The research findings indicate that the development of new slang vocabulary occurs through several methods, including word truncation, word combination, the use of interjections, and the adaptation of the meaning of old words. Factors supporting this linguistic creativity include the need for group identity, the desire to express oneself, and easy access to information via the internet. The implications of this study are to provide a better understanding of language development in the digital era, which can be used as a reference for developing language learning materials.

Cultural maintenance in Indonesia aims to preserve the cultural diversity of the Indonesian people, including traditions, arts, languages, customs, and cultural values. Culture plays a role in the formation of groups about the traditions of life inherited in society. One of the film's works reflecting people's lives was Melody Kota Rusa. Against the backdrop of Papuan culture, the film features traditions, customs, beliefs, and values still held in high esteem by the indigenous Papuan people. The existence of the movie Melody Kota Rusa can be an information medium about cultural ecology wisdom. The film can also be understood as a tool to convey messages and information to students. That the culture in Indonesia is so numerous and vast that it's assembled through the medium of storytelling. This study focused on the cultural ecology contained in the movie Melody Kota Rusa. The analysis in this study aims to explore the forms of cultural ecology that appear in the film Melody Kota Rusa, using semiotics studies to identify the cultural ecological symbols contained in the film, by applying Julian H. Rusa's theory of cultural ecology. Steward. This study uses a qualitative method, in which research is conducted with descriptive properties through analytical methods to collect data, sampling or data sources in this study by watching Melody Kota Rusa films carefully all scenes, dialogs, music, visual images, and other subjects. The film's setting is related to Papuan culture. Data collection techniques with triangulation and data analysis are qualitative.

This study aims to explore and identify geometric concepts embedded in traditional Balinese food, known as Jaja Bali, through an ethnomathematics perspective. A qualitative approach with an ethnographic method was employed, involving direct observation of various types of Jaja Bali found in traditional markets and local food stalls across several areas in Bali. Data were collected through descriptive field notes, informal interviews with vendors, and visual documentation to support the findings. The collected data were then analyzed using the interactive analysis model proposed by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that Jaja Bali embodies a wide range of geometric concepts, encompassing both two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes such as squares, circles, parallelograms, triangles, semicircles, and cylinders. In addition, concepts of symmetry and geometric transformations, particularly rotation, were also identified. These findings highlight that Jaja Bali is not only rich in cultural and symbolic value but also represents practical applications of geometric concepts in the daily lives of the Balinese community. This study is expected to serve as an alternative, culturally contextualized resource for teaching and learning geometry.

Critical thinking skills are considered a fundamental skill essential for facing the challenges and complex issues of the 21st century. One teaching strategy considered effective in fostering these skills is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. This study aims to describe the application of PBL in the teaching and learning process and its impact on strengthening students' critical thinking skills. The approach used in this research is classroom action research (CAR) with descriptive qualitative methods. The study results revealed that the use of PBL can improve students' critical thinking skills, particularly in the aspects of interpretation, analysis, and assessment. In addition, the implementation of PBL also has a positive impact on increasing student activeness, collaboration skills, and independence in the learning process. Obstacles encountered during the learning process can be minimized through the application of appropriate strategies, such as providing scaffolding and optimizing the use of digital-based learning resources. These findings make an important contribution to the development of more effective teaching methods in improving the quality of students' critical thinking in schools, as well as offering practical solutions for teachers to increase student engagement in problem-based learning.

Students' success in mastering Natural and Social Sciences competencies is often hampered by misconceptions that go undetected by teachers. Misunderstandings of basic ecosystem concepts risk hindering mastery of more complex material at the next level. This study aims to analyze students' misconceptions on ecosystems using a more accurate diagnostic instrument than conventional tests. This study was conducted at Growong Kidul 02 elementary school using a quantitative descriptive approach. The main instrument used was the Four Tier Diagnostic Test, designed to measure students' answers, their level of confidence in their answers, their reasons, and their level of confidence in their reasons. The results revealed that the use of the four-tier diagnostic test effectively differentiated students' understanding categories between those who understood the concept, those who did not understand it, and those who had misconceptions. Based on the analysis, a significant prevalence of misconceptions was found in the indicators of interactions between ecosystem components and energy flow. These findings prove that the four-tier diagnostic method provides more detailed information about students' cognitive structure than conventional multiple-choice tests. The implications of this research emphasize the importance for educators of implementing regular diagnostic assessments as a foundation for designing appropriate remedial learning strategies. By identifying the root causes of misconceptions, teachers can provide more targeted instructional interventions to optimally improve students' conceptual understanding.

This study aims to analyze the perception of prospective teachers toward authoritarian teaching styles in elementary schools, focusing on two potential impacts: the formation of discipline and the emergence of fear in students. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with prospective elementary school teachers to explore their perceptions of the effectiveness and risks of authoritarian teaching styles in classroom management. Data were collected through direct interviews with 12 prospective teachers who shared their experiences, observations, and reflections on how this approach may influence student behavior and the learning environment. The findings reveal that prospective teachers view authoritarian teaching styles as effective in fostering discipline, order, and obedience among students. However, they also express concerns about the potential negative effects, such as fear, reduced student comfort, and limited participation in class activities. These perceptions highlight the need to balance discipline and psychological safety in elementary education, ensuring that teaching methods support both academic structure and emotional well-being.

This study aims to examine in depth the impact of using ChatGPT as a supporting learning medium on the conceptual understanding of mathematics among eleventh-grade students at MA Aisyiyah Sungguminasa. The background of this research arises from the low level of students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts, as reflected in frequent mistakes in solving problems, difficulties in connecting one concept to another, and a lack of confidence in problem-solving. This condition indicates the need for innovative learning approaches that can provide more interactive, detailed, and easily understood explanations for students. The research method employed was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of eleventh-grade students who utilized ChatGPT in learning mathematics, particularly on the topics of functions and quadratic equations. Data collection techniques included direct classroom observation, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and analysis of students’ work produced with the assistance of ChatGPT. The findings revealed that the use of ChatGPT had a positive impact on improving students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. Students became more capable of grasping fundamental ideas, following systematic steps in problem-solving, and applying mathematical concepts in different contexts. Moreover, ChatGPT fostered independent learning, increased curiosity, and encouraged the development of students’ critical thinking skills. Nevertheless, challenges were also identified, such as students’ potential dependency on the application and the risk of misinterpretation without proper guidance. Therefore, the integration of ChatGPT into learning should be carried out under the supervision of teachers to ensure that learning outcomes are more effective, optimal, and sustainable.

From an early age, basic education plays a crucial role in shaping a child's character and personality. However, bullying is becoming increasingly common, including at the elementary school level. This study focused on fifth-grade students at Muruy 2 Elementary School in Menes District to identify the forms of bullying that occur, the contributing factors, and the school's role in addressing it. Initial observations and interviews indicated that bullying often takes the form of teasing, exclusion, and verbal abuse. This negatively impacts students' mental health and learning motivation. A less responsive school environment tends to exacerbate the situation. The study, conducted from April–July 2025, used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews with students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The primary objective was to determine teachers' strategies for dealing with bullying. The findings revealed that bullying most often occurs verbally and physically, such as teasing, pushing, hitting, or disturbing friends while studying. Victims are generally shy, quiet, or physically weak, while perpetrators tend to be low-achieving and have prominent physical characteristics. Bullying typically occurs in classrooms or other less-supervised school areas. Its impacts are widespread, ranging from declining academic performance to psychological distress for both victims and perpetrators, as well as the surrounding community. Driving factors include peer pressure and personal circumstances. Despite still facing obstacles such as limited supervision and a lack of parental involvement, the school strives to enforce rules and build cooperation among stakeholders. This study aims to provide a descriptive overview of bullying behavior at Muruy 2 Elementary School, Menes District, as well as the causes, characteristics, and role of schools in eradicating it.

Reading and numeracy skills are the main foundations for the learning process, cognitive development, and student success in everyday life. However, in Indonesia, these two basic skills remain a serious challenge, particularly at the elementary school level. Based on the results of the 2023 National Assessment, 61.53% of students have not achieved minimum competency in reading literacy, and 46.67% have not met basic standards in numeracy. This condition reflects a significant gap between curriculum targets and actual achievements in the field. This low achievement is influenced by various factors, including uneven teacher quality and competence, limited educational infrastructure such as inadequate libraries, limited internet access, especially in remote areas, and disparities in literacy development between regions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review method and analysis of empirical data from various sources, including government reports, national survey results, and previous research, to identify the root causes and formulate improvement strategies. The study results indicate that strengthening the foundations of basic education must be done through improving teacher competency, ongoing training, and updating teaching methods to be more contextual. The use of educational technology and digital media can be an innovative solution to expand access to quality learning, especially in areas with limited facilities.
