This study aims to find the values ​​contained in the novel shown through the characterization of the characters. These characterizations are related to the values ​​that occur in the lives of the characters in the novel Simfoni Persahabatan by Fakhri Violinist. This study uses a qualitative method with a structural approach that focuses on characterization and its relationship to educational values. Data were collected through document study techniques by carefully reading the novel and noting parts related to characterization, then analyzed using content analysis techniques to draw conclusions about the values ​​and messages contained in the novel. The results of the study show that the author successfully presents the characterization of two main characters, namely Nancy who has an arrogant nature and often insults others, and Bintang who is humble and always prays to God. Through the characterization of these two characters, the author conveys various educational values ​​including the value of simplicity, the spirit of pursuing ideals, moral education such as diligent study and humility, character education regarding respect for parents and teachers, the value of hard work, responsibility, patience in facing trials, the importance of admitting mistakes and forgiveness, and friendship. This research contributes to the world of education in utilizing children's literature as a medium for character formation, and provides references in selecting reading materials that suit the needs of children's character development.

This research examines the role of Pura Siwa Jagat Karana as the orientation center of the Balinese Hindu community in Ternate City, functioning not only as a place of worship but also as a hub for social and cultural activities. The study aims to describe the role of Pura Siwa Jagat Karana in the religious, social, and cultural life of the Balinese Hindu community and to analyze the challenges faced in sustaining its existence within a multicultural society. The research employs Emile Durkheim’s Structural Functionalism theory, emphasizing the role of religious institutions in maintaining social integration. A qualitative approach was applied, using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that Pura Siwa Jagat Karana functions as a spiritual center, a medium for preserving Balinese culture, and a means of strengthening solidarity and identity of the Balinese Hindu community. Nevertheless, the temple faces several challenges, including limited accessibility for worshippers, changes in management, insufficient ritual facilities, dynamics in priest leadership, and constrained resources. Despite these obstacles, the temple continues to serve as a symbol of harmony and a space for interfaith dialogue that fosters peace in the heterogeneous society of Ternate.

An Anthology of Opinions Towards a Healthy Indonesia and Optimal State Revenue through Tobacco Excise Policy Reform contains ideas related to tobacco excise policy in supporting public health and optimizing state revenue. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of sentences in a collection of opinion pieces about a healthy Indonesia and optimal state revenue through tobacco excise policy reform. In conducting the research, the authors used a methodological approach in the form of a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection with this method is done using reading and recording techniques. This research uses text analysis techniques with a qualitative descriptive analysis approach as a data analysis technique. Based on the analysis that has been carried out on Bunga Rampai Collection of Opinions Towards a Healthy Indonesia and Optimal Revenue through Tobacco Excise Policy Reform, 11 effective sentences have been found. Meanwhile, errors related to EYD and KBBI were also found with details in the form of 16 ineffective sentences, 31 ambiguous sentences, 5 sentences with capitalization errors, 12 sentences with nonstandard words, and 18 sentences with other types of errors. In addition to being used as a reference for analyzing sentence effectiveness, this research is also useful for enriching the study of tobacco excise policy communication, especially for RPJM 2025-2029 policymakers. In addition, this research can also be used as a reference for further research related to sentence effectiveness.

Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from several of Noona Rosa's uploaded videos and analyzed in terms of form, function, and influencing factors in the use of Indonesian and Korean code variation. The findings reveal that code-switching is employed to express emotions, reinforce cultural identity, and build rapport with bilingual audiences. Meanwhile, code-mixing commonly appears in the insertion of Korean cultural terms into Indonesian sentence structures, serving as a communicative strategy of identity and cultural meaning preservation. The influencing factors include social context, speaker identity, discussion topics, and emotional expression. These findings contribute significantly to sociolinguistic studies and highlight how digital media serves as a platform for multicultural identity expression.

This study aims to describe the types of expressive speech acts used by Prabowo Subianto in his speech at the 2024 National Teachers' Day commemoration. The research employs a qualitative approach with a pragmatic discourse analysis method. The data were obtained from the transcript of Prabowo Subianto speech and analyzed based on Searle’s theory of expressive speech acts. The results show that Prabowo used various forms of emotional expression, such as expressions of gratitude, praise, appreciation, hope, and social criticism. These expressive speech acts reflect the speaker’s attitudes and feelings toward teachers and the condition of education in Indonesia. In addition, the use of expressive speech acts in the speech illustrates the strategic role of language in building emotional closeness between the speaker and the audience, as well as in delivering political and social messages persuasively. These findings indicate that expressive speech acts are essential elements in effective political communication.

This study aims to examine the figurative meanings in the poem "Guru" by Muhammad Asqalani eNeSTe through a semantic approach. The poem portrays the struggle and dedication of a teacher who devotes themselves to serving in a remote area with deep love and sacrifice. This research adopts a qualitative method with content analysis techniques by conducting a document study of the poem's text. The analysis reveals that the poem is rich in figurative language, including metaphor, personification, hyperbole, metonymy, synecdoche, and simile. Each of these figures of speech is employed to depict the social, emotional, and spiritual conditions of the teacher and the environment in which they serve. The use of figurative meaning in the poem not only beautifies the language but also strengthens the moral messages, educational values, and appreciation of the teaching profession. By understanding these figurative meanings, readers can grasp deeper humanistic and simplicity values embedded in the realm of education.

Technological advancements have made information access easier, but they have also raised concerns about the decline in the interest in deep book reading. Students who frequently use ChatGPT tend to only read summaries without delving deeper into the material, which weakens their critical thinking skills. Using postcolonial feminist theory, intersectionality, and media representation theory, this research analyzes how Arab women are portrayed in global and local media, as well as the historical evolution of their roles in society. Through qualitative analysis of academic literature, media content, and cultural documents from 1990-2023, the study reveals complex dynamics in how Arab women are perceived and represented. The findings highlight significant gaps between media representation and reality, the impact of modernization on gender roles, and the emergence of new paradigms in understanding Arab women's identities. The research contributes to a more nuanced understanding of Arab women's experiences while highlighting the importance of contextual and intersectional approaches in gender studies. The implications of this study suggest the need for more balanced representation and policy development that supports Arab women's empowerment while respecting cultural values.

This research aims to describe the use of deixis in literary works, especially short stories. The use of deixis is quite important in the process of interaction and communication, including in short stories which are quite dense in writing because they are related to indicating something and leading to certain references or points of reference and are bound by the context of the utterance. The data for this research is in the form of deixis data originating from the short story "It is forbidden to sing in the bathroom" by Senoo Gumira Ajidarma. The research method used is content analysis with stages of data collection, sample determination, data recording, data reduction, drawing conclusions from the data, and deictic analysis contained in the short story. The research results include six sentences for first person deixis, one sentence for third person deixis or more than one. In existence there is one sentence. In the discourse diexis there are three sentences, and in the social diexis there is also one conversational sentence.
