This study explores the stakeholder synergy in the development of urban farming programs in Surabaya. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data was collected through interviews, documentation, and observation involving the DKPP, agricultural extension officers, farmer groups, and the local community. The findings indicate that strong commitment, competence, awareness, and continuity are the driving factors behind successful urban farming implementation. However, challenges such as declining active farmer groups and limited facilities must be addressed. This research contributes to the understanding of sustainable food security policies in urban settings.

Cemani Village, Grogol District, Sukoharjo, has great potential to be developed as an agrotourism destination, thanks to its fertile land and strong community support. However, the development of the agricultural sector, particularly orchard, remains limited. This community service program aims to empower women through the Farmers Women’s Group (KWT) and PKK, with focus on food security through urban farming. Activities include extension of superior seed planting, training in horticultural cultivation techniques, and distribution of seeds to the community. The program also introduces the concept of agrotourism to boost income through harvests and educational tours. The results show an increased understanding of sustainable cultivation techniques. To ensure the program's sustainability, further training, infrastructure development, and routine monitoring are required, along with collaboration between the village government, universities, and BUMDes to establish Cemani Village as a model of agrotourism destination.

Urban farming in Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang, was initiated to overcome food security challenges and improve local economic welfare through the use of limited land in urban areas. The main problem faced is the low level of community participation in agricultural activities and a lack of understanding of sustainable agricultural practices. This program involves UNPAND KKN students in providing training in farming techniques, organic pest management, and the use of compost fertilizer. The methods applied include direct training and mentoring by extension workers, routine monitoring and evaluation, and outreach through local communities. Apart from that, the program also encourages the processing of harvests into value-added products and the formation of small farmer groups to strengthen community involvement. As a result, this program has succeeded in increasing community participation, maintaining environmental sustainability, and contributing to the economy with the potential to use harvests for consumption or sale. It is hoped that the replication of the program in other areas will expand its impact, making urban farming a sustainable and inclusive model of urban agriculture.

Increasing population density and concretization in urban areas, such as Magelang City, have caused a significant decrease in green open spaces (RTH), which has an impact on food security and independence. Magelang City, with a population density of 7,361 people/km², faces a major challenge in providing adequate green spaces to support local food production. Rejowinangun Selatan Village, as one example, shows the limited green open spaces available. To overcome this problem, urban farming, especially through hydroponic techniques, offers an effective solution. The methods applied in this community service include various approaches to educate and directly involve the community in the practice of making hydroponics with solar panels. By utilizing renewable energy-based technology, such as solar panels and integrated electrical systems, hydroponic farming allows food production in limited spaces such as house terraces. This system not only increases food independence and security, but also ensures that the vegetables produced are healthier because of the minimal use of pesticides. Urban farming with the hydroponic method can optimize the use of limited space and become a productive and sustainable alternative for urban communities.

The residents of RW 05 Jomblang, Candisari District, Semarang City, are increasingly concerned about the impact of plastic waste on the environment. As a solution, used plastic bottles are being utilized as planting media in hydroponic techniques by MBKM students from various universities, such as UPN "Veteran" East Java, Padjadjaran University, and Semarang State University. This utilization of plastic bottles reduces waste while supporting sustainable agriculture by minimizing the use of land and water. The program raises community awareness about eco-friendly urban farming, focusing on water efficiency and quick harvesting processes. Education includes basic hydroponic techniques and their implementation using used bottles, which has been met with active community participation. Evaluations show tangible results, such as pakcoy plants being distributed to participants. Discussions with the RW 05 Chairman reveal significant benefits for the community in utilizing used items for agriculture. This program strengthens the community and suggests further development to enhance local food security and environmental awareness, as well as motivate the adoption of modern agricultural technologies
