Locutionary speech acts, which are related to the literal meaning of an utterance, are considered crucial in conveying messages effectively in the context of podcasts. This study aims to identify the dominant types of locutionary speech acts in the podcast, and to analyze how these speech acts contribute to building the narrative and inspiring listeners. By analyzing the podcast transcripts, this research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the communication mechanisms in self-development podcasts. The analysis results contained in the 6 “Self Development” podcasts on Andreas Bodres' spotify channel include 13 declarative or news speech acts, 6 questioning speech acts, and 15 reminding speech acts. To produce 34 data in the form of locutionary speech acts. Qualitative research is included in this research methodology so that it can produce descriptive data. The techniques used in this research are note-taking techniques and pragmatic analysis techniques to produce data. Matched data and collection techniques are also used in this analysis when presented as formal and informal data. Based on the study on the Bright Side YouTube Channel with an Animal Theme in the Form of Locutionary Speech Acts, 62 news sentences, 32 question sentences, and 49 command sentences were found. This article explores the use of directive speech acts in dialogues presented in English textbooks. Drawing on the theoretical framework of speech act theory by Parker and Riley (1994), the study focuses on understanding how directives—utterances that seek to influence the behavior of the listener—are presented in various dialogues. It examines the various forms and functions of directives, their role in communication, and how they help learners of English understand and practice practical conversational strategies. The article highlights the importance of directive speech acts in both formal and informal contexts, with specific examples drawn from English language textbooks. This study uses qualitative descriptive research where data is found in dialogues in textbooks and then matched with theory and poured into a sentence. This study found that there are five types of directive speech acts, namely, orders, warnings, giving advice, suggestions, and recommendations. In this study, 7 command data, 3 warning data, 2 advice data, 8 suggestion data, and 1 recommendation data were found. In this study, two techniques were found in the delivery of speech acts, namely direct and non-direct. Non-direct techniques tend to contain an element of politeness rather than direct. In addition, the speech actions in this textbook can help students understand, and using directive speech acts effectively can significantly improve communicative competence in language learners.

This study focuses on the analysis of language errors at the linguistic level. It employs a descriptive method to depict an existing and ongoing phenomenon to address the research problem. The process includes a literature review of several journal articles and other sources relevant to the analysis of language errors. Additionally, a video from the TikTok account Pegele, specifically a short video from the ADA Podcast, was used as the analysis material. The video analyzed at the linguistic level was transcribed into written form to facilitate the research process. The short video from the TikTok account Pegele was used as analysis material based on the subtitle textlines included in the video. The study identified several language errors at the linguistic level, including phoneme addition, phoneme reduction, phoneme substitution, affix addition, affix reduction, and affix substitution. These language errors can be attributed to several factors, such as the influence of the mother tongue, limited proficiency in Indonesian, and a lack of formal language instruction. Efforts to reduce linguistic errors in the speech acts performed by Arafah Rianti, Halda, and Derbi Romero in the ADA Podcast program include studying Indonesian sentence structures, expanding vocabulary, and practicing speaking more frequently.

The satire style was chosen to express satire and criticism explicitly. In communicating on social media, satire is also used in making memes. The problem with this research is how satire language is in meme culture on social media. This research aims to reveal how political satire is discussed in memes on social media. The purpose of this study is to examine more deeply how the satire discourse is contained in pictorial texts or purely texts in social media memes. This research is interesting because the satire humor style contained in memes becomes a practical, absurd political, economic, educational, cultural, and other responsibility that can shift, eliminate, then reverse and bring up new discourses. This study uses a critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough, which identifies that the discourse can be a series of verbal and written words or a series of speech acts. With this knife of analysis, it was found that satire in memes on social media is used in the form of satire and criticism of things that are being viral and how these issues affect social media in the real world. Memes are not seen as silent, passive, and finished texts as they are produced. On the other hand, Memes are dynamic and moving strategies through comedy Satire.

The language and context of speech cannot be separated from each other, the two intertwine in tandem and complement each other. The communication process uses language as a medium for conveying its message. Communicators (speakers), communicants (speakers), messages, and speech situations are necessary parts of communication that are expected to be smooth communication and the delivery of messages. The delivery of the message by the speaker becomes hampered when there is a misalignment of understanding received by the speaker. This is what pragmatics is trying to interpret. Pragmatics is the study of the relationship of language to its context. In a comprehensive understanding of language in communication will give birth to language functions that ultimately form a strong language character. It is presented in the article on speech acts and implicature in the use of language.
