This study aims to examine the illegal land ownership of the Pusong Reservoir in Banda Sakti Subdistrict, Lhokseumawe City by the local community, viewed from the perspective of Islamic law, specifically the concept of milk al-daulah, and national legislation, particularly Law No. 17 of 2019 on Water Resources. The phenomenon of land ownership in the reservoir has resulted in various impacts, including ecosystem damage and the potential for conflicts between the community and the government. This research uses a juridical-sociological approach with a descriptive-analytical qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings show that the community’s ownership of the reservoir land, which is used for business and residential purposes, is in conflict with the principle of milk al-daulah and Law No. 17 of 2019, which stipulates that water resources are controlled by the state and must be used for public interest. The weak implementation of government oversight in managing this land has led to an imbalance between the interests of the community and the state. This study recommends better management of the reservoir land to ensure ecosystem sustainability and community welfare.

The process of carrying out the Hajj which involves certain rituals, such as Tawaf and Sa'i, teaches the values of simplicity and sincerity. All pilgrims, regardless of social status, wear the same ihram clothing, symbolic of the elimination of differences. This encourages individuals to internalize the principles of egalitarianism, eliminate discriminatory traits, and strengthen solidarity.

This research examines the transformation of educational sociological thinking in Islam, with a focus on the contributions of classical scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Khaldun, and Al-Farabi. These three figures integrate education with social, moral and spiritual values, creating a holistic approach that not only emphasizes intellectual development, but also character formation. Al-Ghazali emphasized the importance of balanced education between worldly and ukhrawi knowledge, while Ibn Khaldun, through al-umran theory, viewed education as a tool to maintain social cohesion and build a just civilization. Al-Farabi, with his thoughts about the ideal society, emphasized the role of education in creating virtuous individuals. The research method used is a literature review with a qualitative-descriptive approach to analyze the relevance of these thoughts in facing contemporary educational challenges. The results show that even though they come from different historical contexts, their thoughts remain relevant, especially in responding to today's educational challenges which prioritize a balance between science, morality and spirituality. Thus, the contribution of sociological thought to education in Islam has had a significant impact on the social structure and development of Muslim education to date.

The institution of marriage in Indonesia has long been considered a social and moral milestone. However, in the digital era, shifting gender roles and the rise of social media have significantly transformed how young women perceive marriage. This study aims to explore the perceptions of early adult women (aged 18–25) toward the #MarriageIsScary narrative on TikTok, focusing on content from the account @bobahagia19. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and content analysis of selected TikTok videos. The findings reveal that the #MarriageIsScary trend represents a collective expression of emotional anxiety, self-awareness, and social critique of traditional marriage norms. Participants perceived marriage as an uncertain institution, often associated with emotional instability, betrayal, and loss of autonomy. Yet, the same discourse also fostered empowerment and solidarity among women, forming what scholars describe as digital sisterhood. The discussion integrates sociological and media theories (Giddens, 1992; Papacharissi, 2015; Banet-Weiser, 2018) to illustrate how digital narratives both reflect and reshape cultural meanings of marriage in contemporary Indonesia. Overall, the study concludes that TikTok functions as a participatory space where young women redefine marital expectations through shared emotions, storytelling, and online community engagement.

This study examines the legal protection of child victims of immoral crimes committed by TNI soldiers in Military Court III-12 Surabaya. This study focuses on the effectiveness of military law in protecting children's rights and the challenges that arise in these cases. Using a juridical-sociological legal research method, data was obtained through interviews with judges and legal counsel, as well as analysis of laws and regulations. The research findings show that the protection of children in the military context is still inadequate. The provisions of military law, especially the KUHPM, focus more on sanctioning perpetrators than on the welfare of victims. Child protection is generally regulated in Law No. 35/2014 on Child Profeatection. However, law enforcement by Military Courts remains limited. This study highlights the need to improve the military legal framework to ensure better protection for child victims, especially in cases involving TNI soldiers

Corruption is one of the criminal acts that has a destructive impact on development and public trust. In an effort to strengthen the eradication of corruption, impoverishment punishment is proposed as a progressive approach that aims to provide a deterrent effect and restore state losses. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of impoverishment punishment in handling corruption in Indonesia. The method used is a juridical-sociological approach, by examining applicable regulations and the impact of their application in practice. The results of the study show that impoverishment punishment has great potential in reducing corruption rates, especially with the confiscation of assets from crime which can reduce the motivation of perpetrators to commit corruption. However, the implementation of this punishment faces various challenges, including the lack of regulatory synchronization, technological limitations in asset tracking, and political resistance. This study recommends strengthening regulations, increasing the capacity of financial forensic technology, and public education to support the effective implementation of impoverishment punishment. This research discusses Pancasila values in the formation of customary law through philosophical and sociological approaches. Pancasila as the basis of the state has an influence in the formation of national law, but its relationship with customary law, traditions and local norms requires further adjustments. This philosophical approach emphasizes the values of Pancasila, such as Belief in One Almighty God, Just and Civilized Humanity, and Social Justice. This is different from sociological research that examines the response of indigenous communities to the function of Pancasila and the dynamics of social adaptation that occur. This research also provides scientific participation in understanding between national and local legal systems, and also provides a basis for legal policy regarding the dynamics of Indonesian socio-culture.

This research discusses the concept of dual citizenship in the perspective of Indonesian positive law and Islamic law. Dual citizenship refers to the legal status in which a person is recognized as a citizen by more than one country, a phenomenon that is increasingly relevant in the era of globalization. In Indonesian positive law, dual citizenship is generally not recognized, except in special cases such as children from mixed marriages. However, increasing global mobility and individual rights have prompted discussion on the need for wider recognition of dual citizenship. Meanwhile, Islamic law provides a more flexible approach by considering the maqasid al-shariah principle which emphasizes the protection of basic human rights. Through a normative juridical and sociological approach, this research explores how the two legal systems deal with dual citizenship and what the implications are for individuals as well as the state. A comparative study of dual citizenship Dual Citizenship, Positive Law, Islamic Law, Maqasid al-Shariah, Citizenship Regulation practices in several other countries, such as the United States, Canada, Egypt and Pakistan, was also conducted to gain greater insight and understand the best practices that can be adapted in Indonesia. The results show that despite resistance to dual citizenship, its implementation can provide significant benefits, both in terms of protecting individual rights and strengthening international relations. Therefore, it is recommended that Indonesia consider a more comprehensive and inclusive policy regarding dual citizenship, which is in line with positive legal values and Islamic legal principles. This research can hopefully serve as a reference for policy makers and academics in developing regulations that are adaptive to global dynamics.
