This study aims to strengthen Acehnese traditional music and dance as an effort to preserve local wisdom for Generation Alpha at SMPN 1 Darussalam, Aceh Besar. The background of this study the decreasing interest of students in traditional arts due to the strong influence of globalization and digital culture, particularly among Generation Alpha who grow up a technology-oriented environment. This research employed a quasi-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The learning intervention focused on the practice of Rapai Geleng music and Ranup Lampuan traditional dance through peer tutoring and direct instruction (demonstration). The participants consisted of 35 students, including 14 male students in the Rapai Geleng class and 21 female students the Ranup Lampuan dance class. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and performance-based assessment during three instructional sessions. The findings indicate noticeable improvement in students’ practical skills, including rhythmic accuracy, coordination, group cohesiveness, movement technique, and expressive performance. In addition, students demonstrated increased motivation, confidence, and positive attitudes toward Acehnese traditional arts. The peer tutoring method enhanced collaborative learning and social interaction, while direct instruction effectively supported the mastery of procedural and psychomotor skills. The study also highlights that traditional arts learning serves a meaningful experiential medium for Generation Alpha, integrating biological potential with cultural and aesthetic experience. The results suggest that strengthening traditional music and dance education at the junior high school level plays a strategic role in preserving local wisdom, reinforcing cultural identity, and ensuring the continuity of Acehnese traditional arts in the digital era.

By implementing methods such as demonstration, imitation, imaginative play, and free exploration, teachers at RA Aisyiyah can foster creativity, discipline, and collaboration in children. This study applies a descriptive qualitative approach that takes data from observations and literature reviews. The findings show that the role of teachers is crucial as creative developers in the dance learning process, by adapting methods according to the challenges that arise, such as the child's level of focus, limited space, and variations in interests. This article highlights the importance of a combination of flexible learning methods to optimize the potential of early childhood in the fields of art and character education.

This study explores the implementation of dance learning and its impact on motor skill development in early childhood at RA Al-Ikhlasiyah 2 Medan. The research is grounded in the understanding that dance activities contribute significantly to children's gross and fine motor coordination, emotional expression, and self-confidence. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through observations, interviews with teachers, and documentation of dance sessions. Findings revealed that dance learning was not conducted regularly, but rather situationally ahead of graduation events, with limited integration into daily curriculum. The instructional method mainly involved direct demonstration and repetitive practice, which limited children's opportunities for exploration and creative expression. However, most children responded positively, showing enthusiasm and progress in movement coordination and group participation. Teachers played a key role in motivating children, although time constraints and lack of curriculum support posed challenges. The study concludes that dance learning, when implemented as a structured and routine activity, holds great potential in supporting holistic child development. The research also suggests future efforts to design integrative thematic dance modules and teacher training for sustainable early childhood arts education.

This study aims to improve students' understanding and skills in the makeup and costume of the Gambyong Pareanom dance through the application of the modelling method assisted by audio-visual media. The research subjects were 35 students of class X SP 5 at SMK Negeri 8 Surakarta for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The learning method involved the use of videos, live demonstrations, group discussions, and independent practice. The results showed significant improvement in each cycle. In the pre-action stage, only 40% of students felt helped by the method and 68% lacked self-confidence. In Cycle I, 55% felt helped and 60% began to show better understanding. In Cycle II, with more interactive media, 72% of students felt helped and 68% reached the minimum passing grade (KKM). In Cycle III, 88% of students found the method very effective, 85% achieved the KKM, and 83% showed improved confidence. These findings prove that the modelling method using audio-visual media is effective in enhancing conceptual understanding, technical skills, and student confidence. The study recommends broader application of this method in vocational school skill-based learning to create a more engaging, contextual, and relevant learning experience aligned with workforce demands and cultural preservation.
