The study of Islamic manuscripts contributes to understanding the development of thought, values, and social practices in Muslim communities, especially when texts are viewed as cultural artifacts. This research examines the Eid al-Adha sermon manuscript from the private collection of Mgs. Muhammad Jufri using a philological approach combined with value and da'wah analysis. The method is qualitative, applying philological stages such as inventory, description, transliteration, and textual criticism to produce a reliable text edition close to the original form. The analysis is strengthened by hermeneutics and da'wah studies to interpret meanings, values, and messages contextually. The findings show that the manuscript has a structured sermon format consisting of opening, main content, and closing, with strong rhetorical and religious functions. The text contains core values such as tawhid, obedience, sacrifice, social solidarity, and morality, as well as da'wah messages emphasizing piety, qurban practice, ukhuwah, and social awareness. Although limited by the absence of data regarding authorship and transcription time, the manuscript remains relevant as a source of Islamic values. This study shows that combining philology with interpretive approaches can enrich textual meaning and support Islamic studies development in contemporary society and strengthening cultural understanding among modern Muslim communities today worldwide context.

This study aims to analyze strategies for optimizing the management of the library of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) of Sumatera Utara Province in carrying out its role as an authoritative center for Islamic literacy and information. As an institution overseeing the Pendidikan Tinggi Kader Ulama (PTKU), the library holds a strategic position but faces challenges in terms of standardization and digital adaptation. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative study examining aspects of collection management, compliance with the National Library Standards (SNP), and the implementation of information technology. The findings indicate that the MUI North Sumatra Library possesses notable strengths in its collection of centuries-old classical kitab kuning manuscripts and unique documents from scholars’ deliberative forums (muzakarah). Optimization efforts include manuscript digitization using the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS), management training for PTKU students, and the integration of information services through the organization’s official portal. The study concludes that strengthening human resource capacity, ensuring sustainable budget support, and meeting physical facility standards are key factors in transforming the library into an intellectual beacon of Islam in the Media 4.0 era.

This study analyzes the role of the indigenous belief system of the Dayak Tomun community as a foundation for social solidarity, a mechanism of non-formal social control, and a strategy of cultural adaptation in the context of modernization. Grounded in Émile Durkheim’s sociology of religion, particularly the concepts of mechanical solidarity and collective consciousness, this research employs a qualitative approach through a phenomenologically oriented literature review. Data were obtained from ethnographic documents, customary law manuscripts, scholarly articles, and official publications. The findings indicate that indigenous rituals, such as Babukung and Bana’i Tamu, function as means of strengthening emotional bonds and reproducing collective values through communal participation and sacred symbols. Customary law and the pamali system operate effectively as mechanisms of non-formal social control derived from supranatural authority, while simultaneously serving as strategies for ecological conservation. Indigenous beliefs also constitute the foundation of collective consciousness through the internalization of values such as mutual cooperation, respect for nature, and veneration of ancestors. Amid modernization, the Dayak Tomun community demonstrates creative adaptation through ritual reinterpretation, flexible application of pamali, and the integration of formal education with indigenous knowledge. This study affirms that the indigenous belief system of the Dayak Tomun functions as a strategic social, cultural, and ecological instrument in sustaining social cohesion, community resilience, and the continuity of collective identity in the face of contemporary social transformation.

Meanwhile, the Majapahit Kingdom was prominent in developing systems of governance, law, and regional integration of the Nusantara through extensive political and trade networks. Both kingdoms not only shaped the social and cultural structures of their respective periods but also laid an important historical foundation for the formation of identity and regional dynamics in modern Southeast Asia. Therefore, the legacies of Sriwijaya and Majapahit remain highly relevant for understanding historical processes, regional integration, and the long-term development of Southeast Asian civilization.

This study aims to analyze the role of Gujarat, India, as a major hub in the dynamics of the Islamization of the Indonesian Archipelago (Nusantara) and its impact on the formation of a distinctive Southeast Asian Muslim identity. This research employs a library research method by examining various primary and secondary sources, including historical manuscripts, travel accounts, archaeological findings, and relevant scholarly books and journal articles. The findings indicate that the arrival and spread of Islam in the Nusantara around the thirteenth century were strongly influenced by Muslim traders from Gujarat, who functioned not only as economic agents but also as carriers of religious and cultural values. The process of Islamization occurred relatively peacefully through trade networks, intermarriage, Islamic education, and political alliances with local rulers. The dominance of Sufistic teachings, which were adaptive and accommodative to local cultural traditions, facilitated a process of cultural inculturation that enabled Islam to be accepted without significant social conflict. This interaction produced a moderate and syncretic form of Islam, reflected in religious practices, local traditions, and Islamic architectural forms across the region. The study concludes that the Islamization of the Nusantara was a continuous process of cultural dialogue that shaped a tolerant, contextual, and harmonious Muslim identity in Southeast Asia, distinguishing it from Middle Eastern Islamic traditions.

. Public understanding of discourse embedded in children’s animated film scripts and their underlying purposes remains limited, resulting in low audience awareness of the implicit messages conveyed in meaning-laden children’s animations. The Loud House, broadcast by the children’s television network Nickelodeon, presents a relatively controversial theme by incorporating homosexual discourse, which is perceived as deviant behavior by certain segments of society. Based on this premise, this study examines the process through which homosexual behavior discourse is conveyed in The Loud House, addressing the research question: How is the discourse of homosexual behavior in The Loud House constructed in terms of textual messages, social cognition, and social context based on Teun A. Van Dijk’s discourse analysis framework?* This research adopts a qualitative approach using Van Dijk’s critical discourse analysis, which encompasses three analytical dimensions: text, social cognition, and social context. The findings indicate that homosexual discourse is represented through two supporting characters, Harold and Howard, depicted as a same-sex couple who adopt a young boy. These homosexual characters are deliberately framed with a positive image as caring and affectionate parents, comparable to the portrayal of heterosexual parents.
