The digitalization of tax administration has become one of the Indonesian government's strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, transparency, and taxpayer compliance. However, the implementation of digital tax systems among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly distributor-sector MSMEs in Batam City, still faces various administrative and technical challenges. This study aims to examine the experiences, risk perceptions, and adaptation strategies of distributor MSME actors in responding to the digitalization of tax administration following the implementation of the Harmonization of Tax Regulations Law (UU HPP). The research employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven distributor MSME owners in Batam City who had utilized digital tax systems such as e-Filing and Coretax. The findings indicate that most business actors still experience limitations in technical understanding, concerns regarding reporting errors, and difficulties adapting to changes in digital tax systems and regulations. To address these challenges, MSME actors developed several adaptation strategies, including the use of tax consultants, hybrid manual-digital bookkeeping systems, and informal assistance through the internet and business networks. This study highlights that the success of tax digitalization requires a more adaptive approach, stable systems, and policies that are aligned with the characteristics of local MSMEs.

This study aims to determine the effect of tax planning and capital structure on firm value, with firm size as a moderator. The population in this study is all non-cyclical consumer companies in the food and beverage subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020-2024 period. The type of research used in this study is quantitative associative with secondary data. The research sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique. Based on this technique, 24 companies were obtained that met certain criteria. The panel data regression technique used in this study is the Random Effect Model. Testing of panel data regression and moderation regression uses the E=views 13 application. The results of this study indicate that tax planning partially has no effect on firm value, while capital structure does affect firm value. The results simultaneously show that tax planning and capital structure affect firm value. The results of this study also indicate that firm size weakens the relationship between tax planning and firm value, and firm size is also unable to moderate or weaken the relationship between capital structure and firm value.

In the current digital era, public services are increasingly being transformed through technology, including tax administration systems. One of the major innovations implemented by the Indonesian government is the Core Tax System, an integrated tax administration system designed to improve service efficiency, data integration, and taxpayer compliance monitoring. This study aims to analyze the effect of Core Tax System implementation on taxpayer compliance in Indonesia. The research adopts a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to taxpayers. The collected data were tested using validity and reliability tests and analyzed through descriptive statistics and significance testing to examine the relationship between the research variables. The results indicate that the implementation of the Core Tax System has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, both partially and simultaneously. These findings suggest that tax system digitalization can serve as an important instrument in improving taxpayer compliance in Indonesia.

This study aims to examine the influence of inventory intensity, executive compensation, and sales growth on tax avoidance in non-cyclical consumer sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This type of research is quantitative research using secondary data during the period 2020–2024. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, and the sample obtained consisted of 7 companies with 35 observation data points. Data processing was carried out using the E-Views 12 statistical program. Based on the results of this study, inventory intensity, executive compensation, and sales growth simultaneously affect tax avoidance. Partially, only executive compensation has an effect on tax avoidance, while inventory intensity and sales growth have no effect on tax avoidance. This study contributes to the development of accounting and taxation literature, particularly regarding the factors influencing corporate tax avoidance practices in the non-cyclical consumer sector. The findings indicate that executive compensation plays an important role in influencing managerial decisions related to tax avoidance, whereas inventory intensity and sales growth do not significantly determine tax avoidance practices individually. Therefore, companies are expected to improve governance and transparency in executive compensation policies to minimize opportunistic actions related to tax management. In addition, future researchers are encouraged to expand the research variables and increase the number of samples in order to obtain more comprehensive results regarding the determinants of tax avoidance.

This study was conducted to determine the effect of profitability and cost of debt on tax avoidance in wholesale trading companies from 2018 to 2021. The population in this study was 53 companies spanning a four-year period. The sample size used in this study was 49 from a population of 212. The sampling technique used was non-random sampling, with criteria being determined for sample selection. Testing was conducted using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, outlier tests, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that profitability and cost of debt had a significant positive effect on tax avoidance, accounting for 19.3% of the total, with the remainder coming from other variables. Partially, profitability had a significant negative effect on tax avoidance, meaning that an increase in profitability would decrease tax avoidance. Meanwhile, the cost of debt had an insignificant negative effect on tax avoidance, meaning that the higher the cost of debt, the higher the tax avoidance

Akuntansi dan Ekonomi Pajak: Perspektif Global 2026 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

The rapid evolution of digital technologies has fundamentally reshaped tax administration systems, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which constitute a critical driver of economic development yet continue to demonstrate suboptimal levels of tax compliance. This study aims to critically examine the role of Application Programming Interface (API)-based tax automation in enhancing MSME tax compliance through a systematic narrative literature review approach. Employing a qualitative design, this study synthesizes recent scholarly works published within the last five years to identify patterns, relationships, and emerging trends in digital taxation practices. The findings indicate that API-based automation significantly improves administrative efficiency, minimizes human error, and facilitates real-time data integration between taxpayer systems and tax authorities. Moreover, such integration enhances transparency and reduces compliance costs, thereby fostering voluntary compliance behavior among MSMEs. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of this technological intervention is contingent upon several structural and behavioral factors, including digital literacy, technological readiness, and the availability of reliable digital infrastructure. Persistent disparities in these areas may constrain the scalability and inclusiveness of API implementation. This study underscores that API-based tax automation represents a transformative policy instrument in modernizing tax administration systems, provided it is supported by coherent regulatory frameworks, capacity-building initiatives, and equitable infrastructure development. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on digital taxation by offering a conceptual foundation for developing adaptive and sustainable compliance strategies in the era of economic digitalization

Digital transformation in the tax sector is a strategy of the Direktorat Jendral Pajak (DJP) to improve the quality of service and taxpayer compliance. One form of this transformation is the implementation of the Coretax system as an integrated tax administration system that replaces the DJP Online system. This system change poses adaptation challenges for taxpayers, particularly in reporting Annual Tax Returns, which has the potential to affect the accuracy of tax payments. This study aims to analyze the optimization of the transition of Annual Tax Return reporting through the Coretax system on the accuracy of individual taxpayer payments at the North Sidoarjo Tax Office (KPP Pratama). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques such as observation of the Annual Tax Return reporting assistance process, documentation, and interviews with three taxpayers. The results show that the Coretax system is able to improve the accuracy of tax filing through data integration and automatic validation, thereby encouraging the accuracy of the amount and timeliness of tax payments. However, technical system constraints and limitations in taxpayer digital literacy were still encountered during the transition period. Assistance from tax officers and tax volunteers proved to be instrumental in helping taxpayers adapt to the Coretax system. This study concludes that optimizing the transition of the Coretax system requires a combination of system improvements and strengthening taxpayer education to achieve sustainable accuracy of tax payments.

Taxpayer compliance is a crucial factor in optimizing state revenue to support national development financing independently. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of taxpayer compliance in Indonesia by examining two main aspects: individual awareness and the effectiveness of the tax system. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review of various national journals from the last five years. The findings indicate that taxpayer compliance is influenced not only by internal factors such as knowledge, awareness, and tax morale but also by external factors such as tax service quality, system digitalization, and regulatory complexity. Tax reforms and the implementation of digital systems such as e-filing and e-billing have been proven to significantly increase taxpayer compliance through ease of access and reporting efficiency. However, real challenges remain, such as low community tax literacy and perceptions of unfairness regarding the management of tax funds by the government. Therefore, a strong synergy is needed between increasing public awareness through continuous education and improving the taxation system to create sustainable and optimal compliance. Improving transparency and accountability in the management of tax funds is a strategic step to strengthen public trust in tax authorities in Indonesia.

Tax awareness among the young generation is a crucial issue in national economic development, as taxes are the primary source of state revenue. This study aims to analyze the relationship between tax education and young people's perceptions of state obligations in shaping tax awareness. The method used is a literature review (library research) by analyzing various national scientific journals from the last five years. Results indicate that tax awareness among young people is still relatively low, although digital-based education has shown positive improvements. Perceptions of taxes as a state obligation are strongly influenced by knowledge, trust in government, and tax service quality. Interactive and technology-based education has proven effective in improving understanding and positive attitudes toward taxes. Therefore, synergy between government, educational institutions, and digital media is urgently needed to enhance tax literacy from an early age to ensure future fiscal sustainability.

The implementation of corporate zakat in Indonesia remains relatively low despite its significant potential to support national economic development. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of corporate zakat as an instrument for reducing tax burdens and its contribution to economic equality. This research employs a literature review approach by examining relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that corporate zakat of 2.5% is obligatory for business entities that meet the nisab and haul requirements. Based on Law No. 23 of 2011 and Law No. 36 of 2008, zakat distributed through authorized institutions such as BAZNAS or LAZ can be deducted from taxable income. Corporate zakat not only fulfills religious obligations but also plays a vital role in wealth redistribution through social assistance and productive capital for mustahik. Therefore, optimizing corporate zakat can serve as a strategic instrument to promote sustainable economic justice in Indonesia. Effective policies and outreach from the government are also needed so that companies are more encouraged to pay zakat in a timely and transparent manner.

This study was conducted to examine the extent to which product price and quality influence consumer interest in purchasing MMTC Tax. These two elements are believed to be the main considerations in the purchase decision-making process. This research applied a quantitative method using a survey technique, in which data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to MMTC Tax service users. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression to measure the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable. The findings show that both price and product quality have a positive and significant impact on purchasing interest. Together, these two factors were found to significantly influence consumers' willingness to make a purchase. Based on these results, it can be concluded that competitive pricing and superior product quality can drive an increase in the purchasing interest of MMTC Tax consumers.

This research is driven by Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments (HKPD), which reclassifies several taxes, including entertainment tax, into the Category of Goods and Services Tax (PBJT). This policy is further regulated by Surabaya City Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2023. This study aims to analyze the contribution of entertainment tax within the PBJT framework toward Surabaya's Local Generated Revenue (PAD) from 2021 to 2023. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from the Surabaya City Budget Realization Report (LRA) and other official documents, then processed using RStudio. The results indicate that while entertainment tax realization increases annually, its contribution to Surabaya's PAD remains significantly low, averaging below 2%. This suggests that entertainment tax is not yet a primary source of revenue for the city. Based on these findings, the Surabaya City Government is expected to tighten supervision over entertainment transactions through digital systems to minimize fraud risks and conduct comprehensive data updates on new entertainment venues to maximize tax collection.

This study aims to explain the context of the Value Added Tax (VAT) increase policy and its relevance to the trade sector, while also presenting a framework for analyzing the tax burden. The data sources used consist of publications from the last four years, namely from 2021 to 2024. The observed phenomena are then analyzed using various secondary data obtained from scientific journals, official government reports, and other reliable sources relevant to the research topic, in order to provide a comprehensive overview. The conclusions are drawn based on empirical facts, the impacts of the tax increase, and the government’s mitigation efforts to ensure taxpayer compliance. The increase in the VAT rate represents an important step in fiscal reform aimed at increasing state revenue and reducing the budget deficit. This policy has significant potential to support the growth of the national budget, particularly in financing priority sectors such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare. However, the VAT increase may also affect consumers’ purchasing power and trade activities, thus requiring appropriate supporting policies to minimize negative impacts. Therefore, it is expected that this policy will contribute to sustainable economic stability and promote long-term national economic growth.

The implementation of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization aims to enhance local governments' financial independence. However, fiscal imbalances between the central and regional governments led to the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2022 (UU HKPD), designed to strengthen regional fiscal capacity. This law introduces a piggyback tax system through a surcharge on the Motor Vehicle Tax. This study analyzes the dynamics of the piggyback tax system in Semarang City, focusing on the implications for taxpayer resistance and regional financial capacity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study reviewed secondary data from regulatory documents, financial reports, and academic literature. The findings show that the shift towards centralistic fiscal policies and the increase in tax burdens have sparked significant taxpayer resistance. This resistance occurs both passively, due to poor regulatory literacy, and actively, through delays in tax payments. The resistance damages the psychological contract between the state and citizens, undermining local financial stability. It risks reducing local revenue, increasing tax collection costs, and limiting fiscal space for infrastructure development. The study suggests that Semarang’s government needs to adopt an adaptive governance framework with transparent tax allocation, digitalization of services, and persuasive policies to restore public trust and encourage compliance.

Public companies must maintain sustainability, as it is related to their value. A company's value can be measured by its share price; a higher market price indicates a company's financial performance and investment returns for investors. A phenomenon has been observed in the consumer non-cyclical sector, which experienced declines and fluctuations in value from 2020 to 2024. This phenomenon indicates that falling share prices lead to a decline in company value. This study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy on Company Value in companies in the Consumer Non-Cyclical sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020-2024 period. The study sample consisted of 10 companies with 50 data observations selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the help of EViews 12 software. The results of the study indicate that (1) Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy as a whole have an effect on Company Value, (2) Corporate Social Responsibility partially has no effect on Company Value, (3) Tax Avoidance partially has no effect on Company Value, (4) Dividend Policy partially has no effect on Company Value. These findings prove that Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Dividend Policy together are able to influence company value, even though each variable does not have an effect on company value.

This study aims to examine the extent to which taxpayers’ attitudes toward e-filing influence tax compliance, with the implementation of e-filing positioned as a mediating variable among employees of PT Selalu Cinta Indonesia (SCI) registered at the Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama) of Salatiga City. The population comprised 18,244 employees, from which a sample of 100 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. Data were processed and analyzed using simple linear regression and path analysis. The results indicate that attitudes toward e-filing have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance (t = 7.708; sig. < 0.001) and also significantly influence the level of e-filing implementation (t = 7.644; sig. < 0.001). Furthermore, the implementation of e-filing has a significant impact on taxpayer compliance (t = 150.765; sig. < 0.001). Additional findings reveal that e-filing implementation acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between attitudes toward e-filing and taxpayer compliance, with a total effect value of 1.225. Overall, these findings reinforce the Theory of Planned Behavior framework, which posits that positive attitudes toward a system can foster the formation of specific behaviors, particularly in the context of tax compliance.

This study aims to critically analyze the determination of the Tax Base (Dasar Pengenaan Pajak/DPP) in the withholding tax mechanism under Article 23 of the Indonesian Income Tax Law for freight forwarding services at PT MPX Indonesia. The research focuses on evaluating the implementation of the “All-In” billing model, where all operational costs are consolidated into a single gross invoice amount and treated as the taxable base. This approach raises concerns regarding its compliance with applicable tax regulations, particularly in distinguishing between service fees and reimbursable expenses. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach. Data are collected through documentation analysis of transaction records, including invoices and Unified Income Tax withholding receipts. The findings are expected to provide insights into the appropriateness of the applied tax base determination method and its implications for tax compliance and efficiency within the company’s operational practices and financial reporting system.

Taxes are the main source of state revenue that play an important role in financing development. However, the level of taxpayer compliance, especially individual non-employee taxpayers, is still low and fluctuating. This compliance is influenced by several factors, such as trust in the government, tax rates, taxpayer awareness, and tax policies. This study aims to determine the influence of trust in the government, tax rates, taxpayer awareness, and tax policies on the compliance of non-employee individual taxpayers. The population in this study consists of non-employee individual taxpayers registered at the Primary Tax Office under the South Jakarta II Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes. The research sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in 96 respondents who met the research criteria. The data used is primary data collected through the distribution questionnaires using a likert scale. This study used a multiple linear regression analysis with the help of IBM SPSS Software version 22. The results of this study indicate that trust in the government has a negative effect on taxpayer compliance, tax rates have a positive effect on taxpayer compliance, taxpayer awareness has no effect on taxpayer compliance, and tax policy has a positive effect on taxpayer compliance.
