: This article introduces a community service conducted by the PkM ITERA team in Hanau Berak Village, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung. Nutmeg, being a primary agricultural commodity in this region, reveals an underutilized surplus of nutmeg flesh, leading to organic waste accumulation. In response to the urgent need for minimizing organic waste and elevating the economic viability of nutmeg fruit flesh, this endeavor is driven by the realization that this waste represents an overlooked potential. Nutmeg flesh possesses intrinsic qualities, notably a rich concentration of antioxidants known for their role in promoting skin health, stabilizing cardiac rhythms, mitigating insomnia, alleviating angina, enhancing digestive processes, improving blood circulation, increasing appetite, and fortifying the immune system. The proposed solution involves the creation of nutmeg-flavored tea, intended to mitigate the issue of excess nutmeg fruit waste while simultaneously augmenting the economic worth of the produced merchandise. Thus, this initiative materializes as a strategy to optimize nutmeg fruit utilization, curtail waste generation, and amplify its market value. The Community Partnership Program administered by the ITERA team serves as a conduit for the enrichment of knowledge, insights, and competencies among local nutmeg farmers, empowering them to generate high-value commodities from an underexploited resource. The scope of activities encompasses the entire production process, extending to packaging design.

The problem that must be overcome by all parties is garbage. Society must take an active role to solve this problem. In an effort to safeguard the environment, the Maju Jaya Waste Bank has a role in sorting and processing waste. Organic waste will become fertilizer. Plastic or non-organic waste will be the raw material for the Paving Blok Prima Lestari Bumi Group. Paving Block Prima Lestari Bumi Group will process plastic waste into paving blocks. However, there are several problems faced. The problem faced by Prima Lestari partner Bumi Paving Blok, such as the lack of supply of raw materials for plastic waste, lack of operational equipment, which causes the production of paving blocks cannot maximize. The level of sales still cannot meet the target per month. Current marketing aspects are carried out by word of mouth and take part in exhibitions carried out by the local government or using social media. For Maju Jaya Garbage Bank, the problem is a large amount of operational costs to sort waste based on the type of waste. This is inversely proportional to income from processed products that are less than optimal. Some of the solutions offered to partners are several parts of training for the sale of goods, procurement of operational goods such as production machinery for paving blocks and machines that can sort waste by type to reduce operating costs.

Organic waste is an environmental problem, especially in the villages of Pandeyan, Grogol, Sukoharjo, so there is a need to solve this problem through direct community activities. One solution is the socialization activity on organic waste processing through magot cultivation in Pandeyan village. With this socialization, it is hoped that the community will gain further understanding regarding magot cultivation as an effort to process household organic waste to make it more useful. The socialization activity was conducted at the Pandeyan village office on August 30, 2023. To measure the success of socializing organic waste processing through magot cultivation, an evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire method distributed to participants. From the questionnaire results, it was found that 88.9% of the total participants understood magot cultivation. Meanwhile, if you look at the potential of organic waste in each household participating in this socialization, it is possible to process it through magot cultivation. However, there is still a need for assistance and further understanding regarding magot cultivation because there is still a stigma that maggots have a maggot-like shape and are not suitable for cultivation.
