This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing an application-based water payment system as a strategy to reduce consumer arrears. Payment delinquency remains a significant challenge in the management of water utility services, often driven by low payment discipline, limited access to transaction channels, and the inefficiencies of conventional manual systems. Employing a quantitative approach, this research utilizes comparative data collected before and after the implementation of the digital payment application, supported by statistical analysis to measure changes in consumer payment compliance. The findings indicate that the adoption of an application-based payment system has a substantial positive impact on reducing arrears, as reflected in increased payment timeliness and a decline in the number of delinquent consumers. Features such as ease of access, automated notifications, and transparent billing information are proven to enhance consumer compliance behavior. These results underscore that the digitalization of payment systems can serve as an effective solution for improving operational efficiency and supporting the sustainability of water utility services.

The issue of plastic waste is increasingly becoming an environmental concern, including in elementary schools, due to its non-biodegradable nature and its potential to cause environmental pollution if not properly managed. This activity aims to implement the Ecobrick method as an innovative solution for managing and utilizing plastic waste at SDN 054945 Desa Dogang, Gebang District, Langkat Regency. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach involving 65 students from grades IV and V through a community service activity. The activity was carried out on July 17, 2024, through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and reflective discussion. The results show that the application of the Ecobrick method successfully increased students' understanding and awareness of the dangers of plastic waste and fostered an early environmental concern. Moreover, previously worthless plastic waste was processed into functional Ecobrick benches that can be utilized within the school environment. This activity also encouraged a sense of mutual cooperation, responsibility, and creativity among the students. Thus, the Ecobrick method has proven to be an effective alternative for plastic waste management and a contextual learning medium in creating an environmentally friendly school culture.

Effective waste management is a crucial challenge in maintaining environmental cleanliness and sustainability, especially in rural areas. This study aims to analyze the development of waste banks as a sustainable waste management solution in Jl Sosro GG 1001 Village. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through field observations, in-depth interviews with residents and waste bank managers, and documentation of activities. The results of the study show that the existence of waste banks is able to increase public awareness in sorting and managing household waste. In addition, the social and economic impacts caused are quite significant, such as the formation of work groups, increased additional income, and strengthening the value of mutual cooperation. However, there are a number of challenges that hinder program optimization, including limited operational facilities, lack of continuity of community participation, and lack of technical support from local governments. To overcome this, a capacity building strategy is needed through continuous training, provision of supporting facilities, and cross-sector collaboration. The waste bank in Jl Sosro GG 1001 Village has great potential to be used as a model of sustainable community-based waste management, if supported by a joint commitment between residents, the government, and other stakeholders.

The problem of organic waste remains a serious issue in Indonesia, including in rural areas. Jatitamban Village, Bondowoso Regency, faces similar challenges due to household waste and residual by-products from local small enterprises producing tape and cassava chips, which are not yet optimally managed. The Community Service Program (KKN) of the University of Jember implemented an initiative to empower village youth through maggot cultivation as an environmentally friendly and economically valuable solution for organic waste management. This study employed a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach by engaging local youth as active partners in every stage of the program, including observation, planning, socialization, technical training, workshops, and monitoring. The results indicate that Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation serves as an effective strategy to reduce the volume of organic waste while producing value-added products such as alternative animal feed and organic fertilizer. The involvement of youth not only enhanced their knowledge and skills but also fostered environmental awareness and created new entrepreneurial opportunities. Furthermore, the program successfully established a solid and independent youth group capable of sustainably managing organic waste through maggot cultivation practices. The implications of this program extend beyond environmental improvement to promoting village economic independence through the utilization of organic waste. Therefore, youth empowerment through maggot cultivation can serve as a strategic model for sustainable waste management as well as strengthening community capacity in rural areas.

Social and economic inequality in Indonesia is a multidimensional challenge that is not only reflected in the gap in income and wealth, but also in unequal access to education, health, and economic opportunities. The conventional economic system is considered ineffective in overcoming the problem of fair distribution of wealth, thus widening the gap between the rich and the poor. This article aims to analyze the concept of distributive justice in Islamic economics as a solution to social inequality in Indonesia, by highlighting the synergy of zakat, waqf, sharia financing instruments, and the role of government and society. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative-narrative approach to various related academic works. The results of the study show that the application of the principle of distributive justice in Islamic economics through the optimization of zakat, waqf, and alms, as well as strengthening sharia economic regulations and literacy, can reduce social inequality and improve community welfare. The implementation of an inclusive and sustainable Islamic distribution model can reduce the Gini coefficient and strengthen social solidarity, although it still faces challenges in terms of regulation, literacy, and institutional coordination. The conclusion of the study confirms that Islamic economics offers concrete and holistic solutions to overcome social inequality in Indonesia through the integration of divine values, community participation, and state policies that support distributive justice.

Sharia accounting is not merely a financial recording tool but also a system that upholds principles of justice, transparency, and accountability in accordance with Islamic teachings. However, its application in the business world still faces several challenges, such as limited understanding among business actors, a lack of qualified human resources, and the uneven adoption of sharia accounting standards. This study aims to identify the main challenges in implementing sharia accounting and propose practical solutions in terms of regulation, education, and system innovation. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, the findings indicate that strong collaboration between regulators, academics, and business practitioners is essential to build a sustainable sharia accounting ecosystem that aligns with modern business needs.
