This study aims to analyze the maintenance strategy of railway lines in West Sumatra using the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) approach to determine the most economically efficient and sustainable maintenance option. The main issues raised are the high cost of reactive maintenance and the risk of operational disruption due to track damage. The research method involved collecting construction, operational, and maintenance cost data from railway operators, as well as LCC-based scenario simulations to compare preventive and reactive maintenance strategies. The results of the analysis show that the preventive maintenance strategy results in lower total life cycle costs, compared to the reactive strategy. In addition, the preventive strategy also supports operational sustainability by minimizing the risk of service disruption and improving user safety. SWOT analysis shows that LCC implementation has great potential to improve budget efficiency and support local economic growth, although challenges such as data limitations and natural disaster risks need to be mitigated. This research concludes that an LCC-based approach can be the basis for designing more effective, efficient and sustainable railway maintenance policies. Recommendations include prioritizing preventive maintenance, using monitoring technology, and strengthening supporting policies.

When making investment decisions, it is crucial for investors to consider various risks that may arise, both in the short and long term. One method to measure risk is through volatility. Volatility represents a statistical measurement of the degree of price variation over a specific period, expressed as volatility (σ) (Aklimawati & Wahyudi, 2013). This study aims to discuss the pricing of European option contracts using Conditional Monte Carlo simulation and the Black-Scholes method. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from Yahoo Finance. The data consists of quantitative information, namely the monthly closing prices of Toyota Motor Corporation (TM) stock, spanning 5 years from July 1, 2019, to July 1, 2024, yielding 60 data points. In this research, the pricing of European call option contracts was calculated using Conditional Monte Carlo simulation and the Black-Scholes method. The study concludes that European option contract pricing can be determined using two methods: Conditional Monte Carlo simulation and the Black-Scholes method. Conditional Monte Carlo simulation can be employed to calculate European option prices in a structured manner, utilizing stochastic volatility estimated through the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The two methods yield differing option prices; Conditional Monte Carlo simulation produces lower option price estimates with relatively lower error values compared to the Black-Scholes method at every strike price. The lower estimates from Conditional Monte Carlo simulation are due to its consideration of stochastic changes in volatility, whereas the Black-Scholes method results in higher prices due to its assumption of constant volatility. The comparison demonstrates that Conditional Monte Carlo simulation provides cheaper price estimates under market conditions with non-constant volatility, despite requiring higher computational time compared to the Black-Scholes method.   ,

Smoke hazards can result in poisoning of harmful gases produced by the welding process. So it is expected that in order to maintain air cleanliness in the welding workshop by installing an exhaust gas channel from welding, the purpose of this research is to analyse the flow of exhaust gas through simulation of fluid flow velocity (welding smoke) in the design of exhaust gas installation in the welding workshop using CFD or Computational Fluid Dynamics method. CFD simulation can predict in detail the movement of wind (moving fluid) in the welding fume exhaust duct. CFD simulation is carried out through three stages, namely pre-processing, solving, and post-processing. This CFD uses the Solidworks (Flow Simulation) application programme. It was found that the installation of a welding fume exhaust duct with an output capacity of 39 m³ per minute showed a significant increase in airflow velocity. The first simulation results at the exhaust fan (welding booth) showed a maximum velocity value of 13.14 m/s and an average velocity of 10.55 m/s, the Reynold's number was 84567.11. In the second simulation, with the axial fan (Fan stationary) at 2600 RPM and pipe diameter 127 mm, better results were obtained, namely minimum velocity of 12.88 m/s, average velocity 13.94 m/s, maximum velocity 14.53 m/s and Reynold's number 111512.74. So the simulation results show an improvement in the performance of the ventilation system, where the airflow velocity is quite good, which ensures the efficiency of the ventilation system.
