Difficulty reading and writing is still a fundamental problem for some elementary school students, even though these two abilities are an important foundation in understanding various subjects. In the context of madrasah ibtidaiyah education, teachers play a strategic role in helping students overcome literacy barriers in order to be able to achieve basic competencies optimally. This study aims to describe the efforts of teachers in overcoming reading and writing difficulties experienced by three 5th grade students at MIN 1 Gresik. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research subjects included grade 5 teachers and three students who experienced literacy barriers. The results of the study showed that teachers carried out various strategies, including adding special tutoring hours outside of regular learning, providing gradual exercises according to students' abilities, and utilizing visual media and educational games to increase learning motivation. Teachers also apply an individualized approach so that students are more focused and confident. In addition, parental involvement is optimized through intensive communication so that reading and writing exercises can continue at home. The obstacles faced include time constraints, differences in basic abilities, and low student concentration. Nevertheless, the perseverance and creativity of teachers have proven to be able to drive significant progress in the development of students' basic literacy.

Literacy is one of the key factors that hinders the development of human resources. To improve the quality of human resources, it is essential to focus on eliminating illiteracy within the population. One of the primary goals of this outreach activity is to enhance the literacy skills of the local community in Sitanggal Village, located in Larangan District, Brebes Regency, Central Java. The residents of Sitanggal Village primarily rely on farming and entrepreneurship for their income. However, due to the village's isolated location, difficult access, and low economic status, many residents face challenges in accessing proper education. As a result, the illiteracy rate in this area is relatively high, further exacerbating the cycle of poverty. To address this issue, a collaboration has been established with the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) Danawangsa Sitanggal, which has facilitated the eradication of illiteracy within the community. The literacy skills of the participants were assessed both before and after the program implementation using pre-tests and post-tests. The participants, aged between 35 and 59 years, totaled 50 individuals. The program was conducted in three stages: reading, writing, and arithmetic. Each stage was structured around specially designed teaching modules, employing engaging and interactive methods to ensure the participants' active involvement. The results of the program were highly encouraging. The participants' reading skills improved significantly, rising from 10% to 64%. Their writing skills saw a notable increase from 40% to 82%, and their counting skills improved drastically from 80% to 100%. These improvements highlight the success of the program and demonstrate the positive impact that literacy education can have on enhancing the overall quality of life for individuals in marginalized communities.

Literature is born from the human desire to express their existence, which is closely related to the relationship between individuals and with the reality of life. A literary work contains specific intentions and purposes set by the author. Therefore, all aspects of a literary work originate from the author, who plays a crucial role in generating creative ideas that are expressed through their writings. In line with technological advancements, literature has also undergone transformation. One of the indicators of this progress is the emergence of intersemiotic transfer or adaptation, namely the process of changing the medium through which a literary work is presented, such as from text to audiovisual or film. In this context, the researcher examines the adaptation process from novel to film as the object of study. The object of this research is the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which was later adapted into a film by director Baz Luhrmann, released in 2013 under the same title. The novel portrays the life of the American upper class during the 1920s, an era often referred to as the Roaring Twenties. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Qualitative research aims to describe and analyze social phenomena and activities found in the research object. The data were collected through reading, observing, and note-taking techniques, involving both the novel and the film script. In total, the researcher collected 12 data points from the analysis of the novel and its film adaptation.

Education in Indonesia plays an important role in the development of individuals and the country, shaping social and cultural values and preparing for the future. Quality education creates human resources who are innovative and have high social awareness, as regulated in Republic of Indonesia Law no. 20 of 2003. The main challenge is to maintain achievements and adapt to the Society 5.0 era. Curricula, such as the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, are designed to develop students' knowledge, skills and character. English as a compulsory subject increases career and educational opportunities in the context of globalization. English teaching in Indonesia emphasizes listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as the importance of grammar and vocabulary. Nouns are an important element in sentence formation, and understanding nouns helps students in all aspects of language skills. An effective method for studying nouns is through descriptive text analysis. The Community Service Activity (PKM) entitled "Learning Nouns Through Descriptive Text Analysis for Grade 7 Students at MTs Lijamul Athfal Sukabumi" aims to develop community potential, increase creativity, writing skills and relationship networks. It is hoped that this PKM can improve students' understanding of nouns and become a guide for language learning in Indonesian literature, as well as arouse interest in learning English. The method used includes preparation and implementation of noun learning through descriptive text analysis at MTs Lijamul Athfal Sukabumi with results showing high enthusiasm from students. It is hoped that this fun context-based learning can be an alternative that advances education and produces students with international insight.

Quantitative descriptive method was employed in this study that involving 40 students as participants. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to assess students’ attitudes towards AI in relation to motivation, and skill development (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The results indicate that most students perceive AI positively, appreciating its ability to enhance their understanding of English materials, increase motivation, and provide real-time feedback. Many students highlighted that AI tools offered interactive and flexible learning opportunities. Overall, artificial intelligence (AI) is not seen as a replacement for conventional teaching, even though it is a useful tool for learning English. The best strategy could be to combine AI with human instruction, maintaining a balance between the flexibility and immediate feedback that AI offers and the individualized help that teachers can provide.

English, a crucial global language, is essential in education and communication. In Indonesia, mastering English is vital, with the 2013 curriculum emphasizing the four skills: speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Reading comprehension, which integrates written content with prior knowledge, is particularly important. Various internal and external factors, such as word recognition, parental support, and educational media, impact students' reading comprehension. Digital media like Webtoon offer advantages such as accessibility and interactivity, making them valuable educational tools. This study examined how well the Webtoon platform taught reading comprehension to second-semester students at Bhinneka PGRI University's English Education Department in the academic year 2023–2024. Twenty-two individuals were chosen at random from the student body to make up the sample. This study employed a quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental design that included a one-group pretest, treatment, and post-test to determine the impact of Webtoon on reading comprehension skills. Using this strategy, the effectiveness of the intervention may be evaluated by contrasting pre- and post-test results. Students' reading comprehension scores increased dramatically after using Webtoon; on average, their scores went from 69.00 to 81.81. The data distribution was validated by normality tests, and a significant difference was found using a paired t-test (t(15) = -12.854, p < 0.001). These results showed how Webtoon improves reading comprehension and makes a good contribution to education by demonstrating creative uses of digital media in the classroom.Using this strategy, the effectiveness of the intervention may be evaluated by comparing pre- and post-test results.
