Environmental pollution is a common problem in cities and can increase the likelihood of flooding. The purpose of this study is to analyze environmental pollution as a cause of flooding in the Pekapuran Street area, Depok City. This study applies a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation, documentation, and literature review. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the accumulation of household waste around the drainage channels causes obstruction of water flow, which triggers flooding during rain. In addition, the shallow, mud-filled, and poorly maintained drainage conditions increase the risk of flooding. Low levels of public awareness of environmental cleanliness are also factors that exacerbate the condition. This study concludes that flooding on Pekapuran Street is influenced not only by high rainfall, but also by environmental pollution and a suboptimal drainage system. Based on this, better waste management and drainage maintenance are needed to minimize the risk of flooding in the area.

The pollution of the Ciliwung River caused by urban and commercial activities has become an increasingly critical environmental issue, reflecting the weak effectiveness of environmental law enforcement in urban areas. This condition is evident in the area surrounding Seasons City Mall, where ecological pressure resulting from domestic waste and commercial activities has contributed to the deterioration of river water quality. This study aims to analyze the implementation of environmental law enforcement, identify the obstacles to controlling pollution in the Ciliwung River, and formulate strategies for optimizing sustainable environmental protection. The research employs a qualitative approach using normative juridical and empirical methods through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that environmental law enforcement has been implemented through administrative supervision and waste control mechanisms; however, its effectiveness remains limited due to weak inter-agency coordination, inadequate monitoring capacity, low compliance among business actors, and limited public participation. This study concludes that strengthening integrated supervision, enforcing consistent legal sanctions, and enhancing collaboration among government institutions, business sectors, and communities are essential to achieving sustainable pollution control and environmental protection of the Ciliwung River.

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang pesat di Indonesia telah mendorong pertumbuhan industri secara signifikan. Meskipun memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan perekonomian masyarakat, pertumbuhan industri juga menimbulkan dampak negatif apabila tidak diiringi dengan pengelolaan lingkungan yang baik, seperti pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan hidup. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan dalam mengurangi dampak tersebut adalah pengelolaan limbah cair melalui sistem Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL). PT. X, sebagai perusahaan BUMN, turut berkontribusi dalam pengelolaan lingkungan melalui penerapan IPAL. Fokus IPAL di PT. X meliputi perencanaan dan rekayasa instalasi, audit dan inspeksi sistem air, serta monitoring dan pengujian kualitas limbah, khususnya limbah domestik. Limbah domestik, yang berasal dari aktivitas rumah tangga seperti air bekas mandi, mencuci, dan dapur, diolah melalui metode IPAL agar dapat dimanfaatkan kembali untuk keperluan non-konsumsi, seperti penyiraman tanaman dan irigasi. Pengolahan ini menjadi langkah strategis dalam mendukung pembangunan industri yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan.

The waste problem in Indonesia has now reached a critical stage and has become an increasingly serious environmental issue. The ever-increasing volume of waste is not being managed effectively, leading to various negative impacts, particularly environmental pollution. This study aims to examine the state of waste management in Indonesia and its impact on water pollution from the perspective of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The method used is descriptive qualitative research through a literature review utilizing various sources such as journals, official reports, and legislation. The results indicate that the majority of waste originates from household activities, while management practices remain rudimentary, such as the “collect-transport-dispose” method and open dumping. This situation leads to waste accumulation, which contributes to water pollution, deteriorating environmental quality, and increased health risks for the community. Furthermore, suboptimal waste management also poses a challenge in achieving sustainable development goals, particularly regarding responsible consumption and access to clean water and sanitation. Therefore, improved efforts are needed through the application of the reduce, reuse, recycle (3R) principles, increased public awareness, and the active role of the government and the private sector in providing a sustainable waste management system. With the right measures, it is hoped that the waste problem in Indonesia can be reduced and the environment preserved.

This study examines the environmental advocacy strategies carried out by WALHI Jambi in addressing the pollution of the Batanghari River caused by illegal gold mining activities. This issue reflects ongoing environmental degradation and weak policy enforcement in managing natural resources. The study aims to analyze advocacy practices in terms of raising public awareness, community organizing, and influencing policy. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The findings show that WALHI Jambi has undertaken various advocacy efforts, including media campaigns, public actions, community assistance, and engagement in policy forums. However, these efforts remain not fully optimal. Public awareness initiatives are still limited to information dissemination, community organizing has not yet developed into a strong collective movement, and policy influence is constrained by the absence of systematic instruments such as formal documentation, litigation, and structured coalitions. This study contributes to the understanding of environmental advocacy practices and highlights the need for strengthening advocacy strategies to achieve more effective policy influence and sustainable environmental governance.

Permasalahan sampah memerlukan penangan yang serius, karena jika sampah tidak dikelola dengan baik maka akan menyebabkan masalah estetika, pencemaran bahkan kesehatan penghuni lingkungan tersebut. Pengelolaan sampah di Pasar Telukan yang tak bisa lepas dari sampah hasil kegiatan perdagangan memerlukan penyelesaikan terutama dari pedagang itu sendiri dalam hal sikap dan perilakunya dalam mengelola sampah. Ketersediaan fasilitas sarana dan prasarana pembuangan sampah juga menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan sampah pasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan sampah di Pasar Telukan di Kecamatan Grogol Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan menggunakan kuesioner dalam pengambilan data pada 111 pedagang di Pasar Telukan Sukoharjo.  Teknik sampling dengan menggunakan simple random sampling dan metode analisa data menggunakan uji chi square.  Hasil penelitian ini terdapat hubungan pengetahuan terhadap perilaku pedagang dalam pengelolaan sampah, terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan sikap terhadap perilaku pedagang dalam pengelolaan sampah, dan fasilitas sarana prasarana terhadap perilaku pedagang dalam pengelolaan sampah di Pasar Telukan Grogol Sukoharo menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dan signifikan.

Industrial development in Indonesia has significantly contributed to national economic growth; however, it also poses potential risks of environmental pollution when corporate waste management is not conducted properly. Environmental pollution resulting from corporate waste activities may cause harm to surrounding communities, including health problems, ecosystem degradation, as well as material and immaterial losses. In this context, the class action mechanism serves as a relevant legal instrument to collectively advocate for the rights of affected communities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the class action mechanism in environmental pollution cases based on Decision Number 29/Pdt.G/2023/PN.Skh and to evaluate its effectiveness in providing legal protection and restoring the rights of affected communities. This research employs normative legal research using statute approach, case approach, and conceptual approach. The findings indicate that the class action mechanism in the aforementioned decision fulfilled the requirements of numerosity, commonality, typicality, and adequacy of representation as regulated under Supreme Court Regulation (PERMA) Number 1 of 2002. Procedurally, the class action proved effective in enhancing access to justice, ensuring judicial efficiency, and strengthening the protection of the constitutional right to a good and healthy environment. However, its substantive effectiveness remains dependent on the fulfillment of formal requirements, the quality of evidence presented, and the consistent application of environmental law principles by judges. Therefore, the class action mechanism constitutes an important instrument in environmental law enforcement, yet it requires consistent regulatory support and judicial practice to achieve optimal ecological justice.

Tantangan utama yang dihadapi warga Kelurahan Pesantren, Kota Semarang adalah belum optimalnya pengelolaan limbah lingkungan rumah tangga, khususnya minyak jelantah, yang berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran dan masih kurang dimanfaatkan secara ekonomi. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan, keterampilan kewirausahaan, dan kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat dengan inovasi ekonomi kreatif. Tahapan pelaksanaannya meliputi observasi dan identifikasi masalah, perencanaan program partisipatif, pelaksanaan lokakarya, pendampingan, dan evaluasi keberlanjutan. Kegiatan program terdiri dari pendidikan kewirausahaan, pelatihan langsung pengolahan minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi, dan peningkatan kapasitas dalam pembuatan konten digital dan pemasaran digital melalui media sosial dan pasar online. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan minat berwirausaha di kalangan ibu-ibu PKK, yaitu meningkat dari 40% sebelum program menjadi 80% setelah lokakarya. Secara keseluruhan, program ini efektif meningkatkan keterampilan pengelolaan sampah ramah lingkungan dan mendukung pengembangan ekonomi kreatif berbasis lokal.

This study aims to analyze the process of processing fruit peel waste from juice traders into eco-enzymes as an effort to reduce environmental pollution. The research uses qualitative descriptive methods through direct observation, documentation, and literature studies. Fruit peel waste is fermented at a ratio of 1:3:10 (molasses : fruit waste : water) for three months under anaerobic conditions. The fermentation results show good eco-enzyme characteristics, characterized by a pH of 3, a fresh sour aroma, and a brownish color as an indicator of fermentation success. These findings show that the process of processing eco-enzymes from fruit peel waste can be done simply, cheaply, and environmentally friendly. In addition, the use of eco-enzymes has the potential to reduce the volume of organic waste disposed of in landfills and reduce water and soil pollution. The resulting eco-enzyme also has potential applications as natural cleaners, liquid fertilizers, and odor controllers. Thus, the treatment of fruit peel waste not only supports sustainable environmental management practices, but also encourages the implementation of the circular economy as well as community empowerment ecologically and economically.

Latar Belakang: Pendekatan kewirausahaan sosial yang diterapkan dalam proyek ini mencerminkan sinergi antara inovasi, kepedulian sosial, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan. Dengan memberdayakan masyarakat lansia untuk menciptakan produk yang bermanfaat, kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada tercapainya beberapa tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs), seperti pengurangan limbah, pengentasan kemiskinan, dan pemberdayaan komunitas. Tujuan: Mengurangi limbah plastik serta meningkatkan keterampilan dan kemandirian ekonomi lansia melalui pembuatan gantungan kunci berbahan dasar limbah plastik. Metode: Pemberdayaan Masyarakat ini melibatkan warga Panti Perlindungan dan Rehabilitasi Sosial Lanjut Usia “Budi Sejahtera” Martapura. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan yang komprehensif berupa pelatihan partisipatif dengan tahapan pengumpulan bahan baku dari masyarakat, penyediaan peralatan, pembentukan tim kerja, serta pelatihan kewirausahaan yang meliputi edukasi kepada lansia mengenai pentingnya daur ulang sampah, proses pemilahan, pembersihan, pemotongan, pencampuran resin, pencetakan, hingga finishing produk gantungan kunci. Hasil: Adanya peningkatan keterampilan dalam mengolah limbah menjadi produk bernilai, serta terbukanya peluang ekonomi melalui penjualan produk. Dari sisi sosial, kegiatan ini memperkuat rasa kebersamaan dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri lansia, sementara dari sisi lingkungan, berkontribusi nyata dalam pengurangan sampah plastik dan pencemaran lingkungan. Kesimpulan: kegiatan sociopreneur ini membuktikan bahwa melalui pendekatan inovatif berbasis partisipasi, lansia dapat diberdayakan untuk menghasilkan karya yang bermanfaat, ramah lingkungan, sekaligus bernilai ekonomi.

Air pollution is an increasingly serious environmental issue in major cities, including Serang City. The decline in air quality due to motor vehicle emissions, industrial activities, waste incineration, and the reduction of green open spaces harms public health and the environment. Polluted air can cause respiratory problems, reduce the quality of life, and threaten urban ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors of Serang City residents regarding air pollution, as well as assess their support for air pollution control policies. The methods used include a mixed-method approach through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation. The results of the study show that the community has a good understanding of the sources of air pollution, particularly vehicle and industrial emissions. They are also aware of the impact of pollution on health, especially for children and the elderly. However, the implementation of protective behaviors such as wearing masks is not yet consistent. Some positive behaviors have begun to develop, such as not burning trash and planting plants at home. Support for pollution control policies is also high. This study emphasizes the importance of continuous education, law enforcement, and collaboration between the government, society, and environmental communities in efforts to mitigate air pollution in Serang City.

Student learning independence can be stimulated by providing problems at the beginning of learning that must be solved. One example of a problem for teaching materials is the problem of students' polluted environment. Modules are one type of teaching material that can be designed systematically and used by students in the independent learning process. By applying a problem-based learning model to the environmental pollution learning module, it can be used as teaching material that trains students' learning independence by finding problems for the learning process and achieving learning objectives. This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of a problem-based learning module on environmental pollution material for junior high school students in grade VII. The model used in developing the module is a model that has the steps of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The module material is developed by first analyzing the needs of teaching materials, then continuing with analyzing the curriculum used and collecting materials from various sources. The module is then validated by a material expert who obtained a score of 90% and validation by a media expert who obtained a score of 92.5%. This module has also been tested on grade VII science teachers with a score of 96% and tested on students and obtained a score of 83%. Based on the validation and trial results, this module is included in the category of very suitable for use in learning.

The implementation of ballast water management is a very important strategic step in preventing marine environmental pollution, because ship ballast water often becomes a route for the spread of invasive alien species that have the potential to disrupt the balance of the ecosistem, harm the maritime economic sector, and endanger human health. This study focuses on ballast water management practices on the MT Timur Laut Mas 2 ship, with the aim of assessing how the procedures are implemented in order to prevent the entry of alien species, reviewing the implementation of both international and national regulations, and evaluating the performance of the Ballast Water Management Sistem (BWMS) technology applied. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method based on a case study, with data collection through interviews with ship crews and company management, direct observation on board the ship, technical documentation, and a review of supporting literature. The results of the study show that the implementation of the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention (BWMC) regulations on ships has been realized through the preparation of a Ballast Water Management Plan, detailed recording in the Ballast Water Record Book, and the use of a BWMS that relies on filtration technology and ultraviolet radiation. However, the implementation still encounters obstacles in the form of limited crew understanding of system operation, variations in water quality along the shipping route that affect filtration effectiveness, and technical obstacles in equipment maintenance. Therefore, a combination of compliance with international regulations, improving crew competency through continuous training, and optimizing sistem operations are key factors in strengthening the effectiveness of ballast water management. These findings confirm that the application of modern technology in accordance with regulatory requirements can enhance marine ecosistem protection while ensuring the sustainability of the maritime industry, thus positively contributing to environmental sustainability and the stability.

Sampah plastik menjadi ancaman serius karena memiliki sifat yang sukar terurai dan diperlukan waktu hingga ribuan tahun agar sampah plastik dapat terurai seutuhnya. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah memanfaatkan bahan alami sebagai bioplastik seperti alginat yang diperoleh dari rumput laut. Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan memiliki rumput laut yang berlimpah. Alginat dari rumput laut dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bioplastik. Bioplastik berbahan alginat memiliki kemampuan terurai secara alami dan dapat menggantikan plastik yang sulit terurai serta berkontribusi terhadap pencemaran lingkungan. Alginat dapat membentuk gel melalui ikatan ionik dengan kation atau pengendapan asam. Tinjauan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi alginat dari rumput laut coklat sebagai bahan utama bioplastik dan mengevaluasi keunggulan serta tantangannya, termasuk ketahanan terhadap air dan pengembangan struktur gel yang lebih kuat. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa bioplastik berbahan alginat berpotensi untuk mendukung tren kemasan ramah lingkungan yang semakin berkembang, mengurangi ketergantungan pada plastik, serta memberikan solusi berkelanjutan terhadap masalah sampah plastik.

The introduction of toxic substances or energy into the environment degrades environmental quality, which in turn can have negative effects on living things like human health, biodiversity, and the global climate. This multi-faceted problem has far-reaching consequences for ecosystems and human life. For Indonesia, this has grown into a major problem throughout the last several decades. Water, air, soil, and noise pollution have all seen dramatic increases due to the expansion of cities, the industrial sector, and the proliferation of motor vehicles. All four forms of Indonesian environmental pollution—air, water, soil, and noise—are covered in this research, along with their origins, effects on human and environmental health, and potential solutions, both governmental and grassroots. A literature review of secondary sources, such as government papers, scientific journals, and other official publications, is employed as the technique. This document is written with the intention of drawing attention to the significance of environmental protection and offering broad preventative actions. According to the results, industrial operations, automobiles, household garbage, and a general lack of environmental consciousness are the main causes of pollution. Hence, in order to lessen the impact of pollution and enhance environmental quality, technological solutions, regulatory laws, and communities that are both interdisciplinary and collaborative are crucial tools.

Pollution of hydrocarbons in marine waters was recorded up to 2003 around 6.44 million tons and dominant due to the results of fishery port activities to cause the balance of coastal ecosystems disrupted. The solution is called MABOA (Magic Briquette Oil Absorbent) is a technology that is applied aplikatif appropriate to overcome the problem of oil pollution in the port area. This tool is a net with the main components of magic briquettes, auto-spray containing bacteria degradation and microcontroller which as a whole has the ability to absorb and degrade hydrocarbon compounds. The circular MABOA net will prevent the expansion of the oil spill zone by the absorption process by magic briquettes. Pseudomonas puttidae and Bacillus sp. Bacteria will grow and utilize hydrocarbons that have been absorbed and accumulated in the body of magic briquettes so that the cleaning process becomes more effective and faster. Results from a series of trials showed that MABOA with 3meter diameter dimension able to absorb hydrocarbon compound as much as 35.000mL with 3-5min time absorption rate and with density of colonies of bacteria 3,5x109 able to degrade 32% of existing hydrocarbon compound with efficiency time 3-7 days. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis bagaimana kebijakan lingkungan hidup yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah Kalimantan Timur sesuai dengan ketentuan yang tercantum dalam UU Nomor 32 Tahun 2009. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dengan metode tinjauan literatur (library research). Hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk mewujudkan tujuan pengelolaan lingkungan melalui pencegahan dan penanggulangan pencemaran, maka diperlukan suatu strategi pendekatan yang tepat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan secara optimal keberadaan UU Nomor 32 Tahun 2009 tentang Lingkungan Hidup. Sebagai pendukung terlaksananya aturan tersebut adalah harus dilibatkan aparatur pemerintah yang memahami secara benar pelaksanaan dan penegakan hukum lingkungan sebagai hukum fungsional. Keberaadan hukum lingkungan memiliki peran penting dalam rangka menanggulangi berbagai kerusakan lingkungan yang terjadi selama ini. Tidak cukup dengan aturan hukum, pengelolaan lingkungan hidup melalui kebijakan juga bagian yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dalam rangka memberikan perlindungan dan pengelolaan lingkungan.

Aturan P2TL merupakan singkatan dari Peraturan Pencegahan Tabrakan di Laut, aturan yang memudahkan kapal-kapal berlayar dengan aman dan terhindar dari bahaya tubrukan antar 2 kapal atau lebih. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan penerapan aturan P2TL pada saat kapal sedang berlayar untuk mengurangi bahaya resiko tabrakan antar kapal dan terciptanya keselamatan dalam pelayaran di kapal MV. Meratus Palembang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode penelitian statistik deskriptif kuantitatif. Dengan teknik pengumpulan data berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, observasi, studi kepustakaan yang berkaitan dengan aturan P2TL saat dinas jaga laut. Kemudian data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan SPSS dan di deskripsikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan penerapan aturan P2TL saat dinas jaga laut di MV. Meratus Palembang telah sesuai dengan prosedur yang telah ditetapkan. Hal ini untuk memastikan keselamatan di laut dengan mencegah kecelakaan yang dapat mengakibatkan kerugian jiwa, kerusakan pada kapal, dan potensi pencemaran lingkungan di laut.
