Reading is an interactive process where readers construct meaning from texts, relying on various skills, including comprehension. It is fundamental for learning and daily life, and its importance is underscored by the rise of information and communication technology (ICT), which facilitates access to information through tools like the internet. Online platforms, such as Wattpad, have emerged as popular resources for improving literacy among students, particularly in narrative texts. At SMPN 28 Bekasi, English is a compulsory subject, yet students face challenges in reading comprehension, especially in understanding narrative texts. Despite the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka, which focuses on project-based learning, many students struggle to meet reading standards. This research aims to investigate the impact of the Wattpad application on students' reading comprehension of narrative texts, given their difficulties and lack of engagement with traditional reading materials. The survey revealed mixed preferences among students, with strong leanings towards novels (45%), fiction (56%), and romance (44%). Short stories are less popular but still attract the interest of some readers. The majority of students (46.7%) use Wattpad daily, spending mostly 30-60 minutes per session. Many read 2-4 texts per month and often follow specific authors. About 60% of students use bookmarks regularly, while 66.7% prefer texts recommended by Wattpad. The note-taking feature shows mixed use, indicating varying levels of engagement. Reviews and ratings are very important to 83.3% of students when selecting texts. Students generally felt confident in following the storyline (83.3% often or always), analyzing characters (83.3%), and identifying the main conflict (83.3%). Most students apply information from texts in real life, frequently reread for clarity, and often create summaries. Overall, these findings demonstrate high engagement and understanding among Wattpad students, demonstrating their diverse reading habits and interactive use of the platform.

This study, utilizing MindMeister, aims to examine the impact of using the mind mapping technique on the ability of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Parbuluan to retell the content of a narrative text they have read. The research population consisted of 172 7th-grade students, with a sample size of 56 students divided into two groups: a control class and an experimental class, each comprising 28 students. The research employed a quantitative method with a true experimental design. The research instrument was a performance test, and the data were analyzed using a t-test. Based on the results, the average score of students’ ability to narrate the content of a narrative text using the close reading technique was 62.21, with a standard deviation of 6.33, which falls into the “poor” category. Meanwhile, the students’ ability to retell the narrative text using the mind mapping technique with the assistance of MindMeister was 80.07, categorized as “good,” with a standard deviation of 5.48. The data indicated an improvement in the average scores between the control class, which used the intensive reading technique, and the experimental class, which applied the mind mapping technique. Through hypothesis testing, it was found that Thitung > Ttabel, thus rejecting H0 and accepting H1. This means that the use of the mind mapping technique with the help of MindMeister positively influences the ability of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Parbuluan to retell narrative texts.

To analyze the data, the researcher used IBM SPSS version 25. The result of this research post-test t-test resulted in a lower p-value (2-tailed significance) than the significance level (α) (0.000 < 0.05). Furthermore, the t-value is higher than the t-table, 5.856 > 1.677. It stated that the null hypothesis (h0) was rejected while the alternative hypothesis (ha) was accepted. The purpose of this study is to provide an investigation of affixing sentence mistakes in narrative text essays written by fourth graders. In addition, we want to detail the challenges that both students and instructors have when attempting to convey the concept of affixing sentences to elementary school children. A case study is the research approach that is used. In this study, a descriptive example is used. The 70 participants in this research were drawn from three different classes (A, B, and C) and one larger class (22–24 students) at SD YASPORBI III Jakarta, representing Class IV as a whole. This study used a random sampling approach. Research tools used in this study were observation and interview tools. Observation, interviews, and documentation are the methods used to gather data in this study. There were four steps to the analytic process in this study: gathering data, cleaning it up, presenting it, and making conclusions. Study after study has shown that students retain more information and are more actively involved in their own learning when taught about affixes via the use of narrative process that incorporates anecdotes from real life. Teachers may help children who are still struggling with affix sentence writing by using narrative texts to gather often misused terms, such as capital and lowercase letters, which are connected to spelling and spelling comprehension. Teachers should thus provide their pupils with more support and assistance, whether that's in the form of extra explanations, specific activities, or both. Students have a more engaging and effective learning experience when visuals are used as a medium.

To obtain data the author used a test, before the test was tested on students, a trial test was carried out at the same level to determine the reliability and validity of the test. Data analysis techniques use SPSS version 23. The results of this study show that the average pre-test score is 69 and the average post-test score is 82, this shows that the post-test score and average are better than the pre-test. Apart from that, the t-test result showed that the score was sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 means there is a difference between the scores from the pretest and posttest. This means that the hypothesis will not be rejected and the alternative hypothesis will be accepted, which can be interpreted as meaning that there is a significant influence of using Canva on the writing skills of class X-A students at SMAN 1 Kesamben. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended for teachers to use the Canva application in learning English, especially writing skills so that students can learn easily and have fun.
