The history of the development of the Islamic economic system has undergone significant transformations from the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to the modern era. In the early period, the Islamic economic system was based on Qur'anic principles such as justice, transparency, and the prohibition of interest (riba). The Prophet Muhammad SAW established the foundations of the economy, which included the management of zakat, waqf, and market oversight. The era of the Khulafa' al-Rashidin continued these policies with the management of the baitul mal and economic expansion through ijtihad. During the Umayyad and Abbasid periods, the economic system became more complex with the introduction of Arabic currency and innovative tax management. In the modern era, Islamic economics has experienced a revival through its integration into academia and the implementation of Shariah   compliant financial institutions like Bank Muamalat.

Customary law reform in Indonesia in the context of globalization raises significant challenges and opportunities. The values of Pancasila, as the ideological foundation of the nation, play an important role in ensuring that customary law reform remains relevant, fair and rooted in local culture. Globalization encourages the modernization and homogenization of the legal system, which often contradicts the principles of customary law based on local wisdom. This article examines how Pancasila values, such as humanity, social justice, unity, and deliberation, can be integrated in the process of customary law reform to remain relevant amid global dynamics. This research uses a qualitative approach with the methods of literature study, interviews, and document analysis. Literature study was conducted to understand the theoretical context of customary law reform and Pancasila values, while interviews were conducted with legal experts, academics, and traditional leaders to obtain empirical perspectives on challenges and opportunities in customary law reform. Document analysis was conducted on policies and regulations relating to customary law and the implementation of Pancasila values in Indonesia. The results show that customary law reform based on Pancasila has great potential to deliver a legal system that is more inclusive and responsive to the needs of local communities. Key challenges identified include difficulties in harmonizing customary law with national and international law and homogenizing pressures from global standards. However, opportunities are also found in the ability of updated customary law to provide more culturally and locally relevant dispute resolution alternatives. The integration of Pancasila values is believed to strengthen the position of customary law within national and global legal frameworks.ract

Floating markets in Kalimantan have been an integral part of the traditional trading system in the region. Maritime activities play an important role in supporting the sustainability of these markets as they connect local traders to different regions in the archipelago through waterways. This article examines the dynamics of trade in floating markets, focusing on how changes in maritime activities can affect traditional trade structures and patterns. Modernization of sea transportation and competition from land-based markets have successfully affected the competitiveness of waterborne traders. Therefore, the article also discusses the challenges faced by traders, such as limited access to suitable maritime infrastructure and changing consumer preferences. The research suggests that while floating markets continue to play an important role in the local economy, pressures from globalization and changes in maritime governance may threaten their sustainability.

This research focuses on the role of the Barikan Tradition in strengthening social solidarity among the community, highlighting how this cultural and religious practice serves as a bond between community members. Additionally, the study aims to explore the religious meanings embedded in the Barikan Tradition from the local community's perspective, as well as its influence on the formation of collective identity. A qualitative approach using ethnographic methods was employed to deeply examine the religious meanings and functions of the Barikan Tradition and its social impact on the community. This tradition plays a significant role in reinforcing social solidarity, preserving collective identity, and helping the community adapt to social changes. Furthermore, the Barikan Tradition reflects religious syncretism, where a fusion of local beliefs with religion occurs. As a religious rite passed down through generations, Barikan not only functions as a symbolic ritual but also as a reflection of spirituality and community values. In the context of the sociology of religion, this tradition plays an important role in strengthening collective consciousness and preserving religious values amid the challenges of globalization and modernization.
