Hypertension is one of the main risk factors that can cause damage to target organs, including the eyes. One of the complications that often occur in hypertensive patients is hypertensive retinopathy, which is damage to retinal blood vessels due to a persistent increase in blood pressure. This damage can be progressive and asymptomatic in the early stages, so it often goes undetected until severe visual disturbances appear. This study aims to identify and analyze the role of blood pressure control in the prevention of ocular complications in hypertensive patients through a literature review. The method used is literature review by selecting national and international research articles published in 2021–2025 from the PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library databases. Inclusion criteria include full-text articles, relevant research designs, and discussing the relationship between blood pressure control and ocular complications. The results of the study showed that uncontrolled blood pressure increased the risk of retinal damage, decreased ocular perfusion, and microvascular changes detected through funduscopy and Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) examinations. Some studies have concluded that stable blood pressure control, not just the average value of blood pressure, has a significant effect in preventing the progression of hypertensive retinopathy. In addition, regular eye exams have been proven to be able to detect retinal changes early, so that preventive interventions can be carried out in a timely manner. Thus, optimal blood pressure control, therapy adherence, healthy lifestyle education, and regular retinal examinations are effective strategies in preventing ocular complications and maintaining vision quality in hypertensive patients.

Fantasy eyelashes are eyelashes that are used to add an accent of beauty to fantasy eye makeup. Currently, fantasy eyelashes are rarely sold on the market, and most of them are relatively expensive with simple designs. The scarcity of fantasy eyelashes at relatively high prices has led the author to innovate by utilizing mother-in-law's tongue leaf fibers as the basic material for making fantasy eyelashes. The research aims to simplify the search for fantasy eyelashes needed by the public at an affordable price while using natural materials that minimize the risk of irritation, thereby presenting an entrepreneurial opportunity. The natural material used is the mother-in-law's tongue plant. This plant is an environmentally friendly ornamental plant that is easily found in the author's surroundings, highly beneficial for health as it filters toxins and air pollution, and has high economic value. This research employs observation, literature review, experimentation, documentation, and questionnaires. The author uses descriptive qualitative analysis, presenting research results in narrative form using words and sentences. The author offers a price of Rp. 35,000 per pair, which is competitive with market prices for fantasy eyelashes. Product validation was conducted through sensory testing with three expert validators, covering aspects such as texture, shape, neatness, and a rating of 15 in the “very suitable” category. The level of preference was assessed through a preference test with 60 respondents, covering statements 1 to 8, with results ranging from 241 to 300 indicating “very liked.” This study concludes that fantasy eyelashes made from mother-in-law's tongue leaves can compete and are favored by makeup artists and practitioners.

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the health sector, including eye examination services. This study discusses the development and implementation of a Digital Optoscope-based Eye Diagnostic application designed using a web platform (HTML). This application provides two main features: visual acuity testing and astigmatism testing, which can be accessed independently by users through digital devices such as laptops, tablets, or mobile phones. Users only need to follow the visual instructions presented interactively on the screen, then perform the test according to the procedure. The testing method is carried out by displaying font size settings according to the Snellen chart standard and radial astigmatism patterns. The results of each test session are automatically recorded and can be saved for further analysis. In addition, users can perform repeated tests to improve the accuracy of self-diagnosis, and the system will provide lens type recommendations based on the measurement results obtained. The trial results show that this application is able to provide convenience, efficiency, and initial accuracy in the process of examining vision disorders. This is very useful, especially for people in remote areas or with limited access to professional eye health services. Thus, the Digital Optoscope-based Eye Diagnostic application has the potential to be an innovative solution for the early digital detection of vision disorders. This study recommends further development, particularly in clinical validation, testing on a wider sample size, and integration with electronic medical record systems to enhance its benefits in comprehensive public health services. Furthermore, collaboration with medical professionals is crucial to ensure diagnostic accuracy. With this approach, the app is expected to become a reliable tool for continuous eye health monitoring.
