In this study, we will discuss the concept of Islamic education from Buya Hamka's perspective. Buya Hamka was an Indonesian Muslim cleric and scholar with a profound perspective on the relationship between knowledge, faith, and morality. The purpose of this study is to analyze aspects of Islamic education according to Buya Hamka and their relevance to the modern education system. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, drawing on relevant academic literature such as journals, books, and articles. This research concludes that Buya Hamka views Islamic education as an effort to shape a holistic human being, balancing spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social aspects. Hamka emphasized that education is not only intended to cultivate the intellect but also to purify the heart and develop noble character. According to Hamka, Islamic education must be grounded in monotheism, direct educators as role models of morality, and integrate religious and intellectual knowledge for the benefit of the community. Buya Hamka's perspective is sufficient to address the challenges of modern education, which tends to focus on academic values ​​without considering the instilling of moral and spiritual values.

Humans, as creations of Allah SWT, are entrusted with the mandate to prosper the earth; therefore, divine revelations were sent down, culminating in the Qur’an as the ultimate guide for life. Islam, as a universal religion, emphasizes education as a means to achieve a complete and meaningful life. Islamic education, as defined by scholars such as al-Syaebani, Zakiah Drajat, and Muhaimin, is a process of transforming human behavior in personal, social, and environmental contexts based on Islamic values. This study employs a library research method with a thematic tafsir (maudhu’i) approach to examine the Qur’anic foundations of Islamic education. The findings indicate that verses such as QS. Al-‘Alaq [96]:1–5 highlight the importance of literacy as the starting point of education, QS. Al-Mujadalah [58]:11 affirms the elevated status of the learned, QS. An-Nahl [16]:78 emphasizes human innate potential, QS. Luqman [31]:12–19 stresses character education, and QS. Ali Imran [3]:190–191 underscores the integration of spirituality and intellect. Thus, the Qur’anic foundation provides theological, philosophical, and practical bases for the development of Islamic education aimed at forming insan kamil—individuals who are knowledgeable, faithful, and morally upright. QS. Luqman: 13–19 highlights education based on monotheism and morals, where Luqman advises his children to have faith, do good deeds and be patient. QS. This study aims to explore the role of art in Islam by revisiting various books and references that focus on three main aspects: values, aesthetics, and ethics. In Islamic perspective, art is not merely about expressing beauty, but also serves as a medium to enhance one’s faith and morality, guiding humans to draw closer to Allah SWT. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review method based on relevant scholarly sources and academic documents. The findings indicate that Islamic art is built upon the principles of tawhid (monotheism), morality, and spirituality, which provide a profound meaning to every artistic creation. In terms of aesthetics, Islamic art emphasizes not only physical beauty but also harmony, balance, and the magnificence of Allah’s creation. The ethical aspect functions as a guideline for artists to ensure that their works remain within the boundaries of Islamic law and serve as instruments of da’wah, education, and moral development. Therefore, Islamic art represents the synthesis of beauty, truth, and goodness that guides humanity toward worship and devotion to Allah SWT. This study concludes that Islamic art plays a vital role in strengthening spirituality, character, and the advancement of an Islamic civilization that is cultured, beautiful, and meaningful.

Parenting plays a crucial role in shaping a child's personality and religious values ​​from an early age. This study aims to examine the concept of parenting from an Islamic perspective, particularly according to the views of Imam Al-Ghazali, a prominent Islamic scholar and thinker. The method used was a literature review with a descriptive analytical and historical approach. The results show that Islamic parenting, according to Al-Ghazali, is based on the principles of monotheism, faith, and noble morals derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Al-Ghazali viewed children as a trust from Allah, born in a state of fitrah (purity) and as potential beings who are the hope of the community. Educating children must be done from an early age because childhood is a golden period that is very decisive in character formation. The parenting methods recommended by Al-Ghazali include: (1) the habituation method to shape character through continuous practice; (2) the role model method, where parents serve as direct role models for children; (3) the storytelling method to instill moral values; (4) the advice method with a compassionate approach; and (5) reward and punishment methods applied wisely. Al Ghazali's parenting concept emphasizes the importance of parents' role in creating a conducive environment for children's spiritual, moral, and social development, which not only impacts worldly life but also the afterlife. This research contributes to the idea of ​​the urgency of implementing Islamic teachings in educating and raising children in the digital era, which is full of various challenges.

This study aims to examine and analyze the Islamic educational values ​​contained in the local tradition of Ada' Tuho Ulumanda and its implementation at the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Popenga Village, Ulumanda District, Majene Regency. The Ada' Tuho tradition is one of the cultural heritages of the Ulumanda community that is full of moral, social, and spiritual values ​​that are closely related to the principles of Islamic education, especially the values ​​of faith, morals, and society. In the context of Muslim society, local traditions are not only seen as cultural symbols, but also function as a medium for transmitting religious values ​​that strengthen Islamic identity while maintaining social harmony. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data obtained are analyzed thematically to reveal the Islamic educational values ​​contained in the practice of Ada' Tuho and its form of implementation in the Islamic boarding school environment. The results of the study indicate that the Ada' Tuho tradition contains a number of important values, including: the value of monotheism that emphasizes faith and respect for God's power, moral values ​​that include honesty, responsibility, discipline, and respect for parents and others, and social values ​​in the form of solidarity, mutual cooperation, deliberation, and justice in community life. The implementation of these values ​​at the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School is carried out through a formal learning process, habituation of worship, exemplary behavior of the ustaz, and strengthening the character of students based on the integration of Islamic values ​​and local wisdom. Thus, the Islamic boarding school plays a role as an agent of preserving religious culture that is able to harmonize Islamic teachings with local traditions constructively, making it relevant to strengthening contextual Islamic education in the modern era.

This study aims to understand how Islamic values are represented in the television program Cahaya Tauhid, broadcast on MNCTV. This program, a religious program, aims to convey moral messages and Islamic teachings through stories related to everyday life. A qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm was used to explore the representation of Islamic values in this program as a result of social construction influenced by media ideology, the interests involved, and audience responses. Data collected came from non-participant observation of 27 episodes of Cahaya Tauhid broadcast on the MNCTV YouTube Channel. The results show that this program contains Islamic messages that cover five main dimensions: aqidah (faith), worship, morals, social and muamalah (social behavior), and Ramadan spirituality. The most dominant Islamic values in this program are tauhid (monotheism), worship, morals, social and humanitarian, and tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul). The values of worship and tauhid, in particular, appear consistently in almost every episode and are the main focus of this program. These messages are delivered in a simple yet meaningful manner, making them easily understood by the audience. This program successfully represents Islamic teachings in the context of everyday life and shapes the audience's perspective on Islam. Thus, Cahaya Tauhid can be considered an example of an effective television da'wah program in building Islamic understanding through mass media, while also serving as a means of education and dissemination of Islamic values. Furthermore, this study also found that Cahaya Tauhid uses a narrative approach that combines Islamic values with real-life stories, making it more relevant and engaging for the audience. Thus, Cahaya Tauhid can be considered an example of an effective television da'wah program in building Islamic understanding through mass media, while also serving as a means of education and dissemination of Islamic values.
